...it is a place where possibility is eternal; where scenery can change as effortlessly as dreams. There a beings view is shaded not by obstacle or trivial, and impossible is a whisper spoken only by the souls who have just accidentally stepped in. It is a place where young children play in the shadows of Morfit, their voices a familiar melody, singing low in the wind, 'Step on a crack and Foo will snatch you back...'
Leven Thumps and the Gateway to Foo by Obert Skye
My good friend/writing mentor/biggest inspiration/awesomest person alive was in town. I usually go to his book signings and present him with a picture. Going to his book signings always inspire me to to try a little harder. :) This is Rast from the Leven Thumps Series. I'm still trying to perfect my drawing skills when it comes to sycophants.
These days I find it hard to put original sketches up. Although I like to do so, I can be a very self-conscious person when it comes to my talents (don't even get me started with my writing). 1- My style is changing. And before it can get better, it has to get worse. (Trust me on this. If you can't see for yourself, just ask any artist. Ask my teachers, too.) 2- I'm trying to wean away from my anime style, but doing so makes me feel like I'm losing a bit of myself-- what made me start drawing in the first place. 3- Why am I getting away from anime you may ask? There's several reasons, one being that yes, although I watch/read it, I've somewhat outgrown it. 4- I am trying to challenge myself and become original. Anyway, the list goes on. So if you're wondering "What's with the absence of sketches?" Well, it's not only school keeping me busy, but the reasons stated above…. To put in a nutshell, I'm a little embarrassed of my sketches. They're not fridge-worthy in my opinion. Which is funny because just as I was getting a little frustrated about this picture my mom came in and told me this looked lovely. (Thanks, mom. ) In case anyone is wondering, this is Winter Frore from the Leven Thumps Series.
