beautiful dialogue tonight. went out with an old friend, talking about sports and I mention watching hockey. cut to us freaking out about heated rivalry half an hour later: “oh because when you talked about following hockey I thought me too! while thinking about the gay hockey series!”

Greek Exam: ή-39

I didn't study at all yesterday, and today I'm studying in bed (which I know I shouldn't do, but it is the warmest place in my Zia's house right now). However, from tommorow I'll be studying at a desk - good and proper!

I also made time for a 6km run today ☺️ My goal is to run a half-marathon in October. I know I have a lot of improvement to do, but with my inspiration being Jasmin Paris... I KNOW I'll be able to do it ^_^

Yesterday I saw a movie called Mi querida cofradía (Hopelessly Devout is the English title) and it was SO FUNNY and insightful and visually gorgeous... I highly recommend it ^_^ It's showing as part of the Spanish Film Festival touring Australia right now, so if you can, support your local independent cinema distributor and go see it at the movies!

how to stay organized

the first thing you should do every day after school is dedicating 15 minutes (or any set amount of time) to cleaning or organizing

put your backpack away in its designated place and take out your homework and supplies and place them on your desk

change and put your clothes back right away (when I get dressed in the morning, I usually hang my hangers on my closet door for easy access)

refill your water bottle, prepare some tea or snacks, etc.

if you need your parents to sign a cheque or something, now's the time

organize and clean your room

if you have any log sheets to fill out or update, now is also the time

Basically, do anything you can just to get rolling

Buying Since jeans will probably always be socially-acceptable, it’s perfectly fine to spend extra money on them at a high-end store. I’ve heard good reviews about Giordano and Tommy Hilfiger.

(Actually, you can always bide your time for a sale.) 

something no one ever considers is the button. MAKE SURE THE BUTTON IS A NICE BUTTON THAT ISN’T WOBBLY. so many of my jeans had buttons pop off, even though they weren’t too tight at the waist or anything.

My favourite cuts are skinny, legging (at Tommy Hilfiger), and mom jeans. Other cuts you can’t go wrong with are boyfriend (a bit looser than mom jeans), bootcut and straight-leg.

*note on skinny jeans and jeggings* since these cuts are tighter, you should take extra care when checking the seams for quality. You don’t want two stripes down the side of your legs from the undyed material. Also, “skinny” doesn’t necessarily equate “strange stripes on your legs from the seams”

*note on blends* even though in an ideal world you would buy 100% cotton (or some other natural fiber), 100% cotton jeans tend to suck at holding a nice shape. 98% cotton is a better blend for making your butt look nice.

(again, this is why you should buy durable jeans: so you don’t clog up the landfills with too much polyester)

!!beware of stretchy jeans!! turn around and check if your underwear lines show. You could always wear those non-showing underwear (and they don’t have to be thongs--there are seamless underpants) but... just be warned.

try not to wear out your jeans prematurely by overwashing.
