so, I can't help but wonder: if Light of Apathy talks to Dark Cacao sometimes, what about the other lights?
for some reason I've started thinking about it like Soul Jams might not immediately understand what just happened. maybe some of them could be offended by their ex-masters or refuse to recognize the new ones and even go on strike.
I remember how it was in CRK: first, attempts to reach out, then reproachful lectures (especially from the Light of Abundance), and finally agreement to cooperate again. there it feels like "oh no I have to deal with a child now, where is my strong-wise-millennia-old-master?" with virtues that were the Beasts' and "oh no, here we go again, it's YOU" with those that were Heroes'.
and the last one - can Dark Choco's sword speak? it's weird, but I'm just curious.

The lights all do in fact talk to their bearers, fairly often too ( mostly cause self indulge "I think the souljams being sentient is really neat" and also conflict because of the "Misplace" :] )
a large portion of the ancients issues does come from their corrupted souljam lights being confused, angry, and all around in very bad moods after getting (mostly) free from the tree and to these random cookies that somehow got ahold of their hollow souljams while they were stuck.
And that emotional chaos makes their assistance (their various methods of protecting their bearers kingdoms from the Witch's storm) rather self destructive or mean in turn, at first at least. Trying to break these new bearers in an attempt to make them like their old masters
they all start to calm down over time with these new, surprisingly well meaning cookies ( despite their corrupting influence) and seeing how cookie kind has changed since their original masters corruption. Start to quit being so harsh on em after a while ( as shown with Apathy and Cacao ) and warm up to them ( some faster than others, looking at Sloth and Deceit, as seeing their other halves early comparatively to the others, helped a lot)
On the other hand the purified souljams with the old beasts are basically playing a mix of make sure their masters don't corrupt again so they don't get trapped under forks again and allowing a bit of twisting of their virtues as a means of venting a little frustration ( if any are like the canon souljam and ancients it's those pairs ) they're quieter and usually just let their masters do as they please with intervention as needed
The lights exempt from any of this behavior is the solidarity souljam pair, they have their own issues, being shattered, put back together and corrupted by something entirely different ( they're still both really sweet though)
Corruption by the ultimate dough has messed with their minds a bit
And the sword talking was just Light of Apathy, it just didn't wanna show its face but doesn't appreciate the idea of a very small child touching let alone moving it and wanted to tell her to "please go away"
