Sorry I'm late in posting I got busy with my studies
Imagine loving the man who knew who didn't want you except for the passionate nights you two spend together. Who crashes his lips against yours with no thoughts of consequence. The very man who kept you warm under the sheets till you slept, slipping away just as your eyes fluttered close. Who insisted you keep it casual, knowing the gentleness of your eyes, a sign of your love towards him that he reminded will be forever unrequited. He was not one for love, you knew that, yet why couldn't you remember that fact when he peppered you with kisses along your neck? When his hand caresses your body, your face. Where was all logic as he whispered sweet nothings into your ear, his lips trailing down everywhere. It wasn't casual, at least it wasn't for you. He always reminded you, “No attachments, love” but how could you not get attached to him?

Where did it all go wrong? It lasted one semester, when you finally opened up. The moment winter started to come and you got used to the warmth of his hand; he was gone. He may have given you his sweater, but his warmth was already theirs. There were always unspoken words that you knew, you were the only one concerned about the nature and fragility of your relationship. His heart was already for someone else, in fact, maybe it was already theirs from the start, and you just tried to squeeze inside in hopes for a sense of belonging.

It's casual, you said it yourself and he told himself he can settle with that as long as he got to hold you in his arm. He thought that he could settle for that, but obviously he couldn't. Now when you slipped away in the night, only coming back the next time you wanted him; while he needed you. Was it truly casual when you brought him to your family's thanksgiving dinner? Was it casual when you caressed the scars on his body while you acted the way a lover does? No it wasn't and it pained him even more. Knowing that a part of you longed for him half as much as his whole being longer for you, that you were just a stuck up to your own principles on keeping it casual. He can wait forever, if it means that by the end he can hold you in his arms, and love you knowing that you loved him back. Yet it only takes a while before he realized that it was all for naught. You would never love him as much, he confronted you, and he left. He waited all those months, only to realize that the look in your eyes wasn't romantic love, instead it was the same love in people's eyes when they were looking at something fun, the love and amusement when playing a game. He hated you, how pathetic he was against you, but he knew he didn't, knowing if you said one word, he would stay.

Spending a night on the rooftop with your enemy. The city lights, illuminating from his face, you couldn't help but notice his eyes, the intricate pattern, with the perfect colors, as if it was a painting; in fact it was a masterpiece. The way that his eyes swayed by the wind, his lips curving up slightly. He seems more free, unbound by the chains of his responsibilities, the facade of his usual self. Your mind was a blur as you kissed him, what were you doing? Thoughts raised so quickly in your mind but one thought ruled them all, his lips were soft. They tasted like the whiskey you two shared, but it tasted much sweeter. You knew that moments like these most likely would never occur again as the consequences of your action, yet you couldn't help yourself. He didn't pull back either, instead he pressed his thumb against your lower lip, hand tilting your chin up. Perhaps something more could linger as you crossed the borders of your relationship as enemies.
Yoo Junghyuk has loved you since he met you in high school. From the moment he saw you playing with his sister, no- perhaps he has loved you since he saw the beautiful blue skies reflected in your eyes as if the world was in them.
Yoo Junghyuk never admitted how much he loved you, afraid to shatter your relationship that went beyond the confines of friendship.
and most importantly, Yoo Junghyuk couldn't save you.
He didn't know where it all started; he couldn't remember. He regressed, time and time again and he still wasn't able to save you any farther than the third main scenario. Most of the time, you didn't even make it through the first, it was as if Olympus themselves cast fate on you. For you to die is a challenge to his already declining sanity because no matter what he does; from the start, you won't be there and everyone around him will leave too. The last time he tried to save you, you let go of his hand; and mouthed him a few words: "Live for me" but how could he? How could he live in a world where he knew that no matter his struggles you'd die? Didn't you understand? He's done this all over again, and he ended with the same outcome. All. Over. Again.
So, he decided on a goal: he'll finish these damning scenarios. Last round, he fell in love, but it didn't matter since he failed one more time. Again. He had to try again. It all changed once someone he has never seen in his previous regressions came: Dokja Kim.
There are those destined to die, be alive— all thanks to Dokja Kim. Maybe it was him that caused a sword to be pointed at Yoo Junghyuk's throat, betrayal in your eyes as you fought him off in the station, simply defending but with the hurt in your eyes— there was something hidden with the strokes of your blade, anger? Betrayal? No, it was confusion. Why did he leave you in that train? You called out for his name, but he simply turned and left after fulfilling the scenario conditions; all he had to do was leave the station, blood on his hands, and he did.
The soft breeze of Paris, with the fragrance of flowers lingering in its presence. The blue moon shone upon the creaked windows of where Noe was sleeping at. On the roof, Vanitas found himself humming the familiar tune, his eyes reflecting the midnight sky. Was it the wine that made him miss her presence? With thoughts racing through his mind, "would she have liked this scent? This aroma?" Everything in Paris reminded him of her. Perhaps she had truly used her alchemy on him, making him see her— maybe even miss her in the littlest of things. Her eyes had reflected the world, it reflected him, happier and more laid back than ever. Nights like these, were where he couldn't help but worry about her.
He remembered Misha asking him back then, "brother is it true that curses and illnesses can be cured by love? Because father told me this story that.." words came inside his ear then out the other, love huh? What is it about love that the moment he hears of it he thought of her? Maybe it was love that he felt then, should love be a cure to ailments, he is the plague to his own mind and she is his medicine. How funny it is that he's having these thoughts now, let alone want to remember particular memories, but perhaps it wouldn't hurt to reminiscence, after all, it's been so long since he's last talked or written to her, let alone see her.
"What do you want be when you grow up?" Luna's voice clashed with the howling wind as the four of them sat on the grass, where the moonlight along with the pale blue flowers provided them with light.
Vanitas pondered the question, his supposed reply being, "Misha and I won't even make it that long because of the experiment" but he was cut off by Misha's cheerfulness when he hadn't even had the chance to say anything.
"Like father!" It made him want to scoff and give Misha a reality check, but he stopped, grumbling something incoherent instead, a small smile on his lips as Misha put the flower crown on Luna's head, a gentle smile on her lips. The moment his eyes met hers, he looked away and she didn't push him to answer just yet.
"I want to be a doctor someday, travelling all around the world, providing miracles to those who lost hope." your voice rang through his ears as he felt you put a flower crown on his head with a smile. "Alchemy used for medicine, rather simple than what my family tried to achieve with their talents, but either way it can continue their legacy of helping others, whether it be humans or vampires" you laid down the soft cushion of flowers, Vanitas following beside you, then Misha squeezed in between the two of you, with Luna humming a random tune of comfort which you soon followed with a tune of your own.
His humming came to an end as he felt the warm rise of the sun on his skin. It was another day that he had to cure vampires with Noe, and yet another day that he'd hope for a sign of you.
