Mazu, Empress of Heaven and Patron Goddess of the Sea

Mazu if she was in LMK! I finally have a design for her, I really enjoy it! I’ve been planning on making Zhēnzhu’s mother figure/boss for a while.

Alr we got Mei's design for Co-parent

Our little girl

She's around 4-5 and in pre-school, she meets Mk when he's at the playground.

Despite her rich lifestyle she does not act to part of a wealthy child, obviously like in canon she rather be rough and look for bugs!

She does like to hang out a lot at Mk's house, mainly since they let her do what she wants(I love putting my own hcs in aus uwu). Since she's close to Mk, Mei vowed that they're siblings and bestest friends.

You best believe Mk and Mei fuel each other's gremlin and that she beats up anyone who even looks at Mk funny.

Mei has dragon features (optional), but can but can hide them if needed. Mei has small signs of the samadhi fire despite the seal since she's so young, so if she's angry you can see tiny flames around her.

Wukong has to biggest guilt ever with seeing her, cause she's Ao lie's descendent and has the flame. Does this Wukong keep it a secret? Probably not with some prompting from Macaque once he learns that Mei has the fire.

It wouldn't happen immediately however, since she'll learn around season 3 but before the ritual. You can imagine it's not good when your friend's father who was like a dad/uncle to you, reveals that yeah he knew a secret about you that could cause you too die.

Next character I'd have to make is Red son, this really depends on how I want to introduce him in the story and how to place him

The Design of Jiāng Yìng Yuè

A design study/critique of @macaques-mentee-ying/@stratofall006's Jiāng Yìng Yuè! I love Ying a lot, so this was very fun!! Let's start with the basics:

The Silhouette and Shapes of Jiāng Yìng Yuè

Yìng Yuè has one character design that can be found in the comic thus far: her dynasty outfit! Her civilian outfit has not been drawn into the comic yet, so I'm not going to do a silhouette of it.

Yìng Yuè's dynasty outfit has two possible silhouette shapes: her cloak opened and her holding her cloak closed. Characters with cloaks have wonderful potential, so that's not a problem at all!! Her hat and hair make her recognizable!

Yìng's facial area has sharp lines and triangles. Her pointed teeth, hat, hair, and eyelashes all have triangle shapes, as well as her cloak. Triangles are a good shape for Yìng Yuè's design. Triangles show energy, power, and direction. Triangles are associated with action and tension in a design. They symbolize strength as well. These characteristics all fit well with her personality! My only issue is that Yìng Yuè's sharp, pointed design loses steam quickly. It goes into general shapes quickly, with less character. Her pants are far too smooth, and her sash would benefit her design more if it went down to a point.

My Attempts at Rectifying This:

First, I broke Yìng Yuè down into broad triangles, since that is the shape I chose for her design. I drew her build over that, smoothing out the triangles and adding her muscle!

I started with her main outfit. I mostly just made it more pointed (cloak, sleeves, sash, pants,), but here are the 'serious' changes:

Her sash has a bow in the back with two tiny triangles pointing out to indicate this.

Her shoes have an oval on them to represent her family crest. This will be the same color as the family crest on her back, but not have any detail.

I kept her eyes round to show her friendly personality! She's got a lot of sharp edges, but she is kind as well!

Next, I did Yìng's civilian design. It is not yet in the comic, but there is no harm in messing with it. This design is just about identical to the original because I just really like the way this looks, I just made sure to keep it in the triangles. The changes are:

Her hair is now just over her shoulder instead of below it. It has always bothered me that her hair doesn't change the back length when it's put up.

Her jeans have more rips because she is an active character!

She has extra eyelashes and her slit pupils are less visible. Since this form is partly a glamor, I thought these things would make her far more friendly-looking.
