Explored a new parcel of logging acreage. This one was a bit difficult to get to, but very quiet and not nearly as mountainous as some of the others. A blissful morning.

Logging right of ways in Red River Gorge still to this day can have amazing plant diversity .
Along the logging roads found past the bridge near the trail junction heading toward Rock Bridge, a Limestone, not Sandstone bridge that actually goes over a creek, you can find a slew of fairly uncommon species.
Gentian andrewsii is an unbranching closed bottle blue gentian, that has flowers running the entirety of it’s stem.
Gentiana saponaria is a branching bottle gentian with flowers occuring at the top of each branch in much less numbers as G. andrewsii
Lilium superbum, an appalachian meadow classic, that had already begun to set seed.
Euonymus americanus, with rough bumpy hot pink fruit capsules that have opened up which are much different from the more common smooth capsuled Euonymus atropurpureus we all know and love.
The clubspur orchids and showy orchis seemed to love these spots too! I could of spent the whole day walking up and down this logging road!

New work for Popular Mechanics May issue "..Field Testing" aka having a damn good time smashing around some logging roads in some spanking new @uralmotorcycles They handled the Vibey/Rainy/Snowy ️ roads just fine. Big thanks to the best Photo Editors Ally & Ida for such a fun assignment and to Matt at URAL for trusting us with the bikes.

Explored a new piece of the logging acreage today. The place we have been going has terrible washboard gravel on the way in, so we tried this place today to come at the same acreage from a different direction. Probably won't be back. Had to drive past a few houses on the way in and although I slowed way down and drove courteously to avoid getting gravel dust everywhere, someone still hopped in their car, trailed me to where I parked, took a picture or video of me from their car, then backed up and left. It's possible they've had previous problems with other people in this spot but it was still unnerving. The hike was hot, 80 degrees. Black flies were swarming Ivan's ears. He didn't seem like he was having a great time so we turned around after 20 minutes and headed home.
