a / n : in this mini HCS it's mainly just how I think he'd be with a plus size / overweight reader !! I'm personally plus size / overweight n thought this would be a sweet little treat for the other bigger people who love this dork
I will say this is kinda all over the place. it's 4:30 am, I'm sleepy and shaky bc of insomnia n this is mainly just some sweet fluff. most is just them in their relationship too :3
Let's be honest this boy will love just about anyone. doesn't matter looks as much as it does personality.
when he first meets you how you hold yourself — whether confident or shy — he takes interest!! this boy bout falls in love with you when you hug him for the first time months into the blooming friendship.
Bolin can understand insecurity. he sometimes feels he isn't enough either so if you're insecure about your chubby body, or your possibly any part of your body that you've deemed 'too big', he's very understanding and suggests talking to him about it.
he really cares, he wants to be there for you like you are for him so when he notices this insecurity he's quick to tell you he's there.
"just so you know, you can always talk to me you know?"
once you feel comfortable telling him about these insecurities — if you have them — he's listening with a caring stare and a hand on yours as he listens so intently. he never forgets what you said and always tries to pay attention to the parts you're insecure about, said parts becoming his absolute favorites when he looks at you.
if you're not insecure he doesn't mind either!!! he loves that you view yourself so well and that it doesn't affect you!! it makes him extremely happy that you're comfortable in your own skin because it means you're not struggling with this specific part. if you struggle occasionally and Bolin learns of this he's quick to come to comfort and remind you how pretty you are.
dates are fun!! he loves park dates but he prefers a nice date at home. don't get him wrong he loves going out to eat, he loves showing you off even more. but having the comfort of sitting on the couch, eating something homemade or takeout, maybe a mover is put on or you're both listening to the radio while cuddling.
Bolin himself , in my opinion , has a bit of a chub on his belly. it's more like muscle that's soft that looks like chub than actual chub/fat but still. he almost giggles if you like to play with his 'chub', even finds it affectionate when you do it and often will give you kisses in return
his favorite activity ever to do is to cook together. personally I don't think he's a great cook, ask him to cook something and it's likely a little burnt but he can boil water!! though seriously he's an ok cook, he's better at being the one to chop things up and let you cook than being the one seasoning or mixing things up.
he loves to hold you from behind with his hands holding your sides softly while he rocks you both side to side as you'd focus on cooking the meal. he'd finished prepping all the ingredients for you a couple moments ago and now continued his routine of cuddling you, rocking side to side like her always did. it was always comforting and a nice way to spend time together.
he loves to be the big spoon with you!! he loves to hold you close and softly pepper the back of your neck in kisses as he focuses on helping you fall right to sleep.
to be continued maybe :3
uhmmm this is kinda short iggg

✧ Childhood best friend typa deal (but it shall evolve muhahaha)
“Naga, what am I going to do?” You asked helplessly, looking deep into her polar bear dog eyes for any semblance of guidance or wisdom. Instead you saw a profound blackness that seemed devoid of thought. As she gave you a happy lick on the cheek you sighed and gave her a pat, moving on to the next confidant you had chosen.
“Okay. No help from you today. How about you Oogi?”
Oogi gave you the very telling response of the slow blink of his eyes.
“Very insightful Oogi, but not exactly what I need.” You now turned to the fire ferret, hoping the look in your eyes would indicate your need of a companion. “Pabu, please! Give me anything. Our other friends don’t want to listen today.” His ears perked up in attention as he shuffled his way over before taking a seat in front of you.
“I knew you would help!” You exclaimed, giving him soft scratch behind his ear. “Here’s the issue,” You began, taking a seat in front of him. “You know Korra? She’s the avatar, it’s kind of a big deal. Anyways. She’s leaving soon and if she leaves now I might never get the chance to tell her again!”
While your statement was a bit dramatic, it did hold a semblance of truth. You were one of the new air benders, and a pretty good one at that. After a long and arduous station in a recovering Earth kingdom city you had returned to Air Temple Island for a bit. You returned to Air Temple Island at an opportune time it seemed given that the Avatar and her friends were all gathering.
“Now why is that a problem you might ask, and what do you have to tell her you also might ask.” You said, getting up to pace around the fire ferret. “One, I think she’s really amazing.” At your words Pabu seemed to nod. “Two, uh.” You started, although your face began to grow hot. “I’ve known her a long time, we basically grew up together. It took me a while to realize it but whenever I was around her things felt different.”
Your father was one of the men Tenzin had entrusted to keep Korra safe as she mastered the elements, and he was quite proud of it. You were one of the only friends Korra had growing up besides Naga, and despite annoying you occasionally she was still your favorite of them all.
You remembered sparring with her the most, you were a non-bender at the time and prided yourself in being able to keep up with the avatar in combat. You always begged her not to go easy on you and for the most part she didn’t, she wasn’t that type of person. She was the type of person to get hyper-invested in the penguin sledding race you were having and either become extremely giddy when she won or excessively annoyed and challenge you again when she lost, and you loved that.
There’s that word again, love. You gulped as you looked towards Pabu with soft eyes. “When she left the Southern Water Tribe it hurt. A lot. That’s not her fault, it would have hurt anyways and it was best for her to leave. I just can’t help but wonder what would have happened if I had went with her.”
The day that Korra passed her fire bending exam and was permitted to begin training in air bending was momentous for the both of you.
“(Y/N)! I get to start my air bending training! Tenzin’s coming today.” She exclaimed as she slammed the door open to your uncle’s steamed dumpling shop. The power of her slam and the door against the wall caused the dumplings to fly right off of the old man in the shop’s plate.
“Oh. Sorry about that.” She said as she awkwardly scratched the back of her head and gave her signature avatar slanted smile.
“You’re the Avatar!” He said in surprise, only slightly disappointed by the lack of dumplings in front of him.
“Congratulations!” You ran towards her from behind the counter engulfing her in a big hug. She hugged back passionately, gripping you as tightly as she could. You began to get lost in her presence, her scent, the feeling of her frame against yours. Blush began to spread across your face as you felt her firm muscles against you, but also the softness of her chest.
You both pulled back slightly, looking each other in the eyes. Your heart felt as if it were going to burst out of your chest and you wondered if she felt it too. There was something so sweet about her face, about the way she looked at you with her blue eyes. It made your chest feel tight.
“How did you even get here? You shouldn’t be sneaking out so much!” You whispered with a smile, your love struck eyes still holding her gaze.
Despite your words you knew fairly well that she could handle the guards as you thought back to the time she had gotten in trouble for fighting a group of them – and winning might you add – although she would never tell you why.
“Don’t worry about that.” She said, pausing before looking you over. Embarrassed you averted your gaze to look downwards. “You’re my best friend. I love you, you know that right? I always will.”
There it went. You were pretty sure you watched your heart soar out of your chest and into the heavens. Instead of responding you just hugged her harder, nuzzling yourself in the crook of her neck.
I could stay here forever. You thought to yourself, although it seemed fate had other plans
“Uh. Not to interrupt, but could I get the check?” The old man asked as he looked at the two of you with questioning eyes.
“Yes, yes. Of course, I’m sorry! I’ll throw some extra dumplings in for the road.”
After that day, well she was pretty much gone. You desperately wanted to go with her but you had responsibilities in the water tribe. She had them elsewhere, it pained you but it seemed like fate just didn’t want the two of you together. You saw her once a year later while visiting your aunt in Republic City, before her battle against Vaatu. She was with someone who was seemingly her boyfriend and a very pretty woman who appeared to be her friend.
In that moment your heart froze wondering what to do. You hadn’t spoken to her in so long and didn’t want to intrude but at the same time the Korra that you knew would have been happy if you did.
The fire nation boy leaned closer to her and grabbed her hand as they walked. You looked at Korra and the two people surrounding her, they were definitely cooler than you. Your heart fell as you watched them at the table across from you and your aunt in the park, they seemed to be getting ready to go.
Maybe she’d be embarrassed to see me with her new friends. You thought, still contemplating whether you were going to say something. Then she looked up, Korra had locked eyes with you. The same warm eyes that looked at you as she told you she loved you, although now she was looking at you with confusion splayed across her face.
Her friends were already up and about to leave. When she noticed you were looking back she quickly got up to join them as well, her boyfriend giving her a quick kiss on the cheek. You saw her mouth move to tell him something and then both their eyes were on you again while attempting to be indiscreet. Keyword being attempted. You noticed and it haunted you for the longest time, maybe she really was embarrassed to see you in public.
“Anyways, the next time I saw her was here. I haven’t said anything yet and I don’t think she’s seen me but I need to air my grievances Pabu.” The ferret moved to nuzzle up besides you and you thanked him by petting him softly. “Also, I think the biggest problem is. I still have feeling for her.”
“You like Korra!?” You jumped in surprise, looking at Pabu with your mouth agape before realizing it was not the fire ferret that spoke but instead a wide-eyed earth bender. Gasping you stumbled backwards as you instinctively air bended at Bolin. His eyes widened as the gust of air had thrust him backwards causing him to land on his behind. Feeling bad you rushed over, inspecting him as he rubbed the back of his head.
“You shouldn’t spy on people like that!”
“(Y/N)! No, no, no, no! It wasn’t anything like that I swear! I was just looking for Pabu and then I heard you speaking and-” He prattled on. You looked at him and sighed knowing he wouldn’t be the type of person to do something like that. The two of you had gotten to know each other very well when your paths had collided in the Earth Kingdom.
“Just don’t tell anyone, okay?” You asked hesitantly, scanning the man who now held a deep deep secret of yours.
“Don’t worry (Y/N), my lips are sealed.” He said as he made a motion of zipping up his mouth with his hands. For some reason you didn’t fully trust him. “Some call me Bolin, the master of keeping secrets.” He continued.
“Yeah, yeah. I get it, just please Bolin promise me.” His eyes softened as he heard your voice waver.
“I promise. Plus, this might be the best accident to ever happen to you.” Your eyebrows shot up at his response.
“How so?”
“Because you now have the best wing-man and wing-ferret on your case, and I’ve got a plan.”
You watched as Bolin smiled excitedly, ready to tell you his plan. You knew it might not be the wisest to go with it but as you thought of Korra you sighed. What other option did you have?
It’s late. Zuko knows this, Y/N knows this. They both knows. And yet neither of them can bring themselves to go to bed as they sit by the balcony— or in Y/N’s case, on the balcony, much to Zuko’s dismay — just talking.
The night was no longer young.
It had started off as the first of many to come in light of the ball being hosted by the young Fire Lord, another attempt to help lessen the tensions between nations. And seeing as Y/N was a representative of the Earth Kingdom, she had all the reason to be here. That and the fact that she’d always been close with Zuko, since they’d met towards the end of the war.
Midway through the party, both their social batteries had run out, but seeing as Zuko was the host... well escaping hadn’t come easy. But somehow, he’d ended up in the balcony and there stood Y/N.
It wasn’t that she hadn’t liked her job, its just that Y/N had come to visit her friend only for him to be too preoccupied with, “preventing war” and other stupid things like that. And seeing as all the other diplomats were much older and much more... rude to people Y/N’s age. Lacking respect... for her.
“They just—” She inhales deeply, frustration evident in the way she clenches her fists tightly, “infuriate me! The disrespect is insane, Zuko.”
“i could uh...” Zuko gestures awkwardly, searching for the proper word, “banish them?” He offers, a small smile on his face as he shrugs.
Y/N finds herself bursting into laughter, Zuko’s smile only broadening at this as he leans further back against the balcony, it’s odd. He’s rarely felt so comforted in his life alongside someone, and it’s almost a relief. As though he’s finally breathing.
He doesn’t want it to end.
As Y/N manages to calm down from her laughter, she only offers Zuko a small smile, “thank you, Zuko.” She sighs, “I don’t know, I suppose I just hate how easy it was for me to just... leave.”
Zuko’s brows furrows at her words as he looks up to her, “what do you mean?”
Y/N shrugs, “I don’t know it was just,” she pauses, “easy for me to disappear in the crowd. No one really noticed, you know?” She laughs to herself, “I doubt you get it. You’re the Fire Lord. Everyone notices you.”
Y/N turns to Zuko to see his brows furrowed, eyes glued to his hands before he looks up and says, “I noticed you, Y/N.” He shifts in his seat, “you were the only one I noticed in that crowd actually.”
Y/N freezes, eyes falling on Zuko who still has that same baffled look on his face as she feels her cheeks warm.
Okay, maybe Zuko is a tad socially inept to the point that he doesn’t recognize how he sounds. But in this moment Y/N decides that she appreciates it, even though she does happen to be... very flustered.
She feels seen.
Y/N also decides that it is a nice night as she turns to Zuko and says, “thank you, Zuko.”
They’re both silent, seated on the edge of the Republic City Arena. Mako’s brows are furrowed as he fidgets with the edge of his sleeves before readjusting his scarf. Y/N can feel his gaze fall on her as she inhales deeply, finally building up the courage to turn to him.
“About what Jinora said—”
“It’s not true—”
There’s a pause as Y/N registers what says.
It was funny, how they’d gotten into this situation. Jinora had elected to make an... offhanded comment on how Mako was enamored with Y/N and irrevocably in love with her. Along with the fact that she’d found the pining so very cute but sad.
Yeah.
Things had gotten very messy, very quickly. Y/N’s face heating up at Mako’s burnt bright red, shooing away the young girl and making several attempts to silence her before deciding that leaving would be the best option for everyone.
Now, they sat at the top of the arena, Y/N’s legs hanging off the side as she nodded slowly as said, “oh!” An awkward smile on her face as she averts her eyes from his own. “Great.”
Had Y/N been ready to take this as an opportunity to confess? Yes. Did it end well? No. Was she now prepared to crawl into a hole and die? Possibly. Though she quickly collected herself, hands coming by her sides as she came to a stand. “Where are you going?” Mako asks, wincing at the sound of his own voice crack.
Okay, maybe he was stressed. But Y/N wasn’t supposed to know. He’d told Jinora in a panic, and for some reason she’d decided to reveal it— even worse, reveal it in his presence. And in an attempt to salvage his almost decade long friendship with Y/N, he’d resorted to lying, a first for the pair. Things had become so awkward so quickly after Jinora had finished speaking, Mako had a feeling there was no real way to guarantee the preservation of their friendship without ending the possibility of something more.
“Well... we’re done here aren’t we? You’ve cleared up that you—” Y/N clears her throat, gesturing to his awkwardly, “don’t have feelings for me.”
This is not how he had planned for this to go.
“Stay?” Mako asks, lips pressed together to form a thin line, “watch the sunset with me? Like we usually do?”
It was those damned sunsets that had gotten them into this mess. Y/N could remember the first time that they’d come to the top of the Arena— it had been her lousy attempt to get him to enjoy his new home. Her attempt at optimism. It had ended fairly well as it became their thing. Something just between the two of them, some days they sat in silence, others they did work, and others they spoke of things both mundane and deep.
Those times on top of the arena had been the highlight of her day, something she looked forward to.
Right now, Y/N was dreading every minute of it,
Despite herself, Y/N nods, coming back to a seat beside Mako. Crossing her legs as though avoiding all contact with him will allow her to avoid her feelings. Mako seems to take note of this as his eyes fall back on her, rather than the horizon she’d set her own sights on. “I thought you wanted to watch the sunset, not me.”
Her comment leaves his cheeks burning once more as he straightens beside her, gaze turning to the sunset as he replies quietly, “right.”
This time, the silence that engulfs them is an awkward one.
Though it doesn’t last long as Y/N asks, “would it really be that bad?”
Mako decides there’s no point in playing dumb as he replies, “no.” He inhales deeply, “no, it wouldn’t.” Leaning back to rest his weight on his hands, he sighs, “it isn’t.”
The implications of his words leave her mouth gaping open as she turns to him, struggling to find a response as their eyes meet.
She decides pulling him in by the collar and pressing her lips to his is the best response. And evidently, it is. As the pair kisses before the falling sun.
It’s not an uncommon occurrence for either Y/N or Korra to awake in the middle of the night, sweat dripping down their foreheads, chest pounding, mind frazzled with fear of a false situation they barely remember.
So, when Y/N awakes to an empty bed, it doesn’t come as a shock. Often times, the nightmares would result in one of them waking up the other. Whether it was the abrupt movements in their shared bed, or the absence of the usual warmth in bed.
Frowning, she slips out of bed, grimacing as her feet touch the floor. And it’s odd, given her life as the partner of the Avatar, nothing had even been safe. And yet she’d let her guard down to the point that things she used to do routinely were now something of the past in a way— things like keeping any eye out for possible signs of danger, attacks, intruders.
Or maybe that was just because Korra made her feel safe.
It’s easy to find Korra within their shared apartment, leaning against the counter in their kitchen with a glass of water in hand, downing it with ease. The girl in question inhales deeply before letting out a shaky breath.
“Hey.”
“Hey.” Y/N repeats, eyes on her as she makes her way towards her, arms coming around her waist to pull her into a hug, “bad dream?”
Korra quickly reciprocates the hug, arms going around Y/N’s shoulders as she buries her face into her neck, “bad dream.” She affirms.
They stand like that for a while, enjoying each others silence, each other’s company. It’s a simple thing and yet it serves as an effective way to slow Korra’s heartbeat, which Y/N could still hear as she laid her head against Korra’s chest. The irregularity of it all had ended and quickly become something more steady, a calming thing that almost lulled her back to sleep right there.
Korra seems to take note of this as she shifts in Y/N’s arms once more, pulling away slightly, and there’s a silent understanding between them as Korra pulls apart entirely only to take her hand and guide her back to their room. Almost immediately falling back down onto her side of the bed, taking Y/N— who yelps at the action— down with her.
Pulling her close, Korra finds herself sighing contentedly, a stark contrast to how she’d awoken earlier, and a welcome one. It’s a calming experience, one she’s grateful for as simply says:
A/N: i accidentally deleted this so i had to rewrite it GOODBYE. sorry if this is bad though askjdhakjsdh
FLUFFVEMBER MASTERLIST
Despite having lived in the Southern Water Tribe his entire life, Sokka had never failed to appreciate the sky. Whether it was the beautiful sunsets, the lights that lit the sky up some days— filled with beautiful colors that seemed to dance across it. Or the sunrise. Though he didn’t always care for the beauties of his home, after a while he came to realize that it’s something he definitely should care about it.
After all, everything is temporary, and it’s better to appreciate it while it’s there.
Y/N had only recently arrived at the Southern Water Tribe, though she’d been dating Sokka for a while now. Y/N had yet to come to appreciate the sky in the same way that Sokka did, and maybe that’s because she didn’t particularly enjoy waking up early the same way Sokka did. All to see the sunrise the same way it did every morning. Though she could appreciate his dedication.
It was on days like these that it only partially bothered her though, eyes fluttering open at the lack of warmth in the bed beside her. Y/N’s brows furrow as she turns over and quickly realizes Sokka is no longer there. It’s easy to tell that he’s woken up early to watch the sunrise again by the looks of the darkness outside, that would soon be replaced by the sunlight.
Y/N already knew she wouldn’t be going back to bed— not without Sokka at least. So, she finds herself rising from the bed, muscles protesting at the possibility as she stretches her arms outwards. The floor is cold when her feet touch it, though it’s easy to combat that as heat overwhelms her body thanks to her Firebending. Something Y/N silently thanks her parents for as she allows a small flame to alight in her palm to light the way through the darkened home.
There are signs of both Sokka and Y/N in the home. A boomerang hanging on the door, sets of shoes that Sokka had left by the floor, what little was left of Y/N’s life in the Fire Nation— something the other members of the Southern Water Tribe hadn’t necessarily been too fond of when she’d arrived— like the red in the closet that seemed to stand out in stark contrast to the traditional blue of the nation she now resided in.
Exhaling deeply, Y/N pushes open the door, rubbing the corner of her eye with her freehand as she tried to stifle a yawn. It’s easy to find Sokka, as he’d taken a seat at the chair before the window in their living room. Eyes glued to the brightening outside until he hears the door creak open, head whipping around and eyes wide as they meet Y/N’s.
“Did I wake you?” There’s concern laced through his voice as he moves to stand, only for Y/N to place a hand on his shoulder to force him back into the seat, the fire in her free hand going out. “Sorry about that.” He mumbles regardless, hand grabbing hers to press a kiss against it.
“Good morning.” Y/N replies, her other arm coming to wrap around Sokka’s neck as she leaned down to kiss his cheek lightly. “Watching the sunrise again?”
“Yeah.” He breathes out, and Y/N hums in reply. “You wanna sit?”
Shaking her head, Y/N finds herself looking to the window as well. The sky becoming an odd mix of warm hues that reminded her of her own home, that had been filled with bright reds and oranges. Along with her own abilities as a Firebender, as she watches the colors mix. “It’s pretty.” She says.
Sokka looks back to her, craning his neck as he offers her a smile and says, “not as pretty as you.”
A breathy laugh escapes Y/N as she gently swats at his chest, “you’re so corny.”
“You love me.”
“I do.” A pause, “and I walked into that one.”
“You did.” Sokka agrees, smile widening before he returns his attention back to the rising sun outside the window.
It’s moments like these that remind him how worth it everything is, and just how thankful he is that Y/N accompanied him back to the Southern Water Tribe as they rebuilt. They’d made substantial progress, it’d been a while since the war and things were looking up as relations with the Fire Nation were slowly mended thanks to Y/N’s work as an ambassador between the two nations.
Y/N pauses for a moment, before raising a brow and looking to Sokka as she says, “you aren’t going to say you love me back?”
He hums, a pensive look finding it’s way onto his face before he says, “no.”
Y/N scoffs in reply, moving to unwind her arms from Sokka, only for him to grab her hands to keep them there. “Fine! I love you.” He says, eyes meeting Y/N’s, a mischievous glint within them.
“I had to force it out of you.”
“Well I thought it was obvious that I loved you.”
Because unlike most things, the love between Y/N L/N and Sokka was not temporary.
Sokka was rather renowned for his lack of talent when it came to painting. He’d created quite a few pieces of art that looked as though they were drawn by a child. Stick figures that looked like trees but were supposed to represent his won friends.
Y/N on the other hand, was famous for her talent when it came to art. Painting astonishing murals across all the nations of the world, selling canvas for more money than she needed— only to donate it to those in need — and opening up her own art shop in her home of the Earth Kingdom.
It was a nice pair. And a stark contrast.
This was the very reason that Sokka decided a date dedicated entirely to painting would be a good idea. Though Y/N had a feeling it would be quite the opposite as he guided her up a hill. “Where is it exactly that you’re taking me?” She asks, raising a brow at him as he struggles to carry all the art supplies up in the wagon. Something he had insisted to do, leaving Y/N to carry the basket with the food they’d brought.
“The place of my first masterpiece.” Comes his reply, wiggling his brows at her.
Y/N tilts her head at him in response, “your first masterpiece? Care to elaborate?” She asks as they make their way to the top. Behind them stood an old temple Sokka had begged to visit while they were in the Fire Nation— Sokka had diplomatic work to attend to and Y/N had an art sale to handle— and before them was a gorgeous waterfall accompanied by what looked like miles of mountain.
“This is where I made my first painting,” he turns to her with a smile, setting down all the equipment they’d brought (that Y/N had brought) with a sigh of relief, before plopping down onto the grass. “And where I made my first sword.”
Y/N returns his smile, now well aware of the meaning behind this place as she takes a seat beside him. Leaning forward, Y/N begins to set up the two easels she’d brought, while Sokka simply watched from his place. Enjoying the blissful silence that came between them, though it was anything but silent with the roaring of the waterfalls in the distance and all the animals native to the area.
Sokka had brought her here for a reason, mostly because he wanted someone good at art to create what he couldn’t, a decent representation of the beautiful place he’d come to learn the art of the sword. He’d considered getting the painting commissioned in the past, that was actually the very reason he’d met Y/N.
He’d gotten a little sidetracked of course, and never managed to get that commission he’d come for. Of course, Sokka did end up leaving with something better. A girlfriend and the artist herself.
“You ready to begin, Sokka?”
Sokka quickly focuses back in on Y/N, dopey smile on his face as he replies, “yes, definitely.” He sits up from his spot on the grass, leaning over to press a kiss onto her cheek before grabbing the brush she’d set at the edge of the easel. “You ready to get destroyed at this paint-off babe?”
She rolls her eyes his antics, though there’s a mischievous glint in her eyes as she says, “you’re on.”
And who better to paint the place he loved than the woman he loved?
