i don’t get when people say “sephiroth better not have a tragic origin” if they see anything new come out of ec or the compiliation because…lol, my brother in christ he always did have one and why does that make him less of a villain anyhow?

Heh, same. I thought this the other day too when I was looking up some famous film villains and reading about them (I was specifically looking to read about Norman Bates because I remembered him being compared to Seph), and it’s kind of shocking how many of these “old and classic villains” absolutely have origins or reasons for their cruelties that are rooted in some tragedy or traumatic incident or even just grief. And they are hailed as the greatest of all time!

They have depth AND strong presences the way Sephiroth does. We’re talking the nastiest, darkest killers like Hannibal Lecter, Norman Bates, the Voorhees family, etc.., and then it’s the same with characters like Darth Vader or The Joker. Like this is not new and it’s even a trademark of villains that people have always considered equally well-written and impactful due to the fear they incite.

And Sephiroth was even taken to the next level by being introduced to us as non-evil and human first. Everyone watched him change drastically….he was never the “villain from day one” that had no background. You’re totally right. He always had this story…and now it’s getting fleshed out and I’m just in time to witness it, baby.

Headcanons for Heather

Animals love her, she's nice to them and tends to feed strays food she can't eat.

She doesn't like spending money on herself, but Benjamin, her twin brother, told her that she needs to spend at least a quarter of her pay for herself.

Most of her money would go to the Industrial City, where she spent a few years learning to build her arm.

She keeps her arm hidden not out of shame, but because she doesn't want to be viewed with pity by the others.

When she finally comes out of her shell, Heather actually acts a little closer to a tsundere. Not the type that hits and demeans, but she's the type to dismiss and angry pout when she gets complimented or thanked for something. Think: 'Not like I did this for you, shut up already, damn.'

Yes, Heather can cuss, she just decided to stop doing so after she grew up a little more. Piss her off and you'll find the doll has the mouth of a sailor.

Despite being born on Paradis, Heather is only half Eldian, her Mother's side can be traced back to a nomadic tribe in the Northern Hemisphere of the world. (Building on this, don't worry.)

Heather actually heals faster than a regular human being because of the nomadic blood running through her veins, she just can't regenerate like Titan-Shifters.

Because Heather's voice claim is Ishikawa Yui, Heather can definitely sing. Why is her voice claim the same as Mikasa Ackerman? Because Violet Evergarden is also voiced by Miss Ishikawa. :D

Heather takes a majority of her free time writing letters to the soldiers that didn't make it back, letting the families know that their loved ones did not die in vain and they were deeply loved in the Corps. She does this because it's what she wanted above everything else after losing her brother and team.

Heather's previous title was Lieutenant, her style of fighting mimics the birds she watched when she and her brother escaped slave traders and survived out in the wild. The owl, silent as night, then the falcon that strikes with the force of gravity and skill that breaks the necks of its prey.
