LOONATICS UNLEASHED (BAND AU) EPISODE 1: THE PILOT
Authors note: Okay I'm sorry this took so long to put out! But it is about time I put something out of my BAND AU! This is the first episode it takes place straight after the meteor hit and everyone is angry and shocked and don't know what to do! I wanna say thanks to my bae @sillymoonboi for the motivation to help me finish writing this! Oh and Eva Duck belongs to her as well! I hope you all enjoy!!! ^^
A woman was seen arguing with her now ex-husband, usually the woman would cry and submit to his demands without hesitation, maybe even kiss his ass a little to get him to calm down and stop his incessant screeching! But this time she was done. Her husband had been caught red-handed; he had been cheating on her this whole time WITH A DODO BIRD NO LESS and she was done! That pig didn’t deserve her, afterall she did for him! After the incessant hours helping, being there, showing up! IT DIDN’T MATTER IF SHE TRULY NEVER LOVED HIM! SHE WAS STILL THERE! HE NEVER WAS! She kicked him hard, grabbed her keys and finally left that night!
It wasn’t easy for her after leaving him, she didn’t know where to go or what to do. She had no family… well not anymore… She could never go back after what she did.
Eventually she scraped a job working as a bartender at a fancy club downtown to earn a quick buck. She told herself it was temporary… she told herself that she’ll figure something out, but as time passed that goal seemed unreachable. She hated the job, her boss sucked and so did her coworkers, she just wanted out, she wanted to find her brother, she hadn’t seen him in a long while.
She had just finished a long 10-hour shifts at work, her shoulders draped she hadn’t been sleeping much, the fatigue started to dawn on her, and she wanted nothing more than to go home and try to sleep everything off until she heard a noise coming from the sky and before she knew what was happening.
A meteor stroke down from the sky, the girl thought she was dead. However, a few minutes later she woke up to find that she could now turn invisible and shoot water out of her hands.
She was scared yet enlightened by her new abilities, before long she got a call from someone named Zadavia, saying she heard of her powers and wanted her to join her team.
“I think you would be a great asset to the team! However, if you join you must know you can’t tell anyone about who you are or what you do! Your secret identities will be protected by a famous band persona, your job! You will be our rapper and choreographer.” Zadavia informed over the phone.
“I’ll do it!” The women said replied over the phone.
“Wonderful! What was your name again? I need it for my files!”
“It’s Delilah! Delilah Duck.”
*Meanwhile at the Acme Building*
The asteroid was well… to put it simply unexpected and many were still recovering from the incident, after the incident, Acme grew more after it, their products had been the only ones to survive the meteor strike making citizens reliant and more desperate than ever on the company. Soon the city was rebranded as Acmetropolis and it started becoming a utopia place to live. As the city built the walls higher and higher with Acme slowly taking over everything in sight and no one questioned it. Eventually everyone learned to live by Acme’s rules and regulations, it was easier than putting up a fight they had grown too powerful now.
Despite the sole reliance on Acme and the growing power many groups who didn’t accept the truth of what Acme was becoming tried to grow their own alliances and packs against them. They claimed they were “trying to bring order back to the society.” However, all these groups did, was just cause more chaos between the citizens. Eventually they started growing, they started grabbing people’s attention, expanding in numbers, they were trying to start a rebellion against Acme.
Eventually Acme got tired of this constant cat and mouse chase and hired several assassin groups to AHEM! Eradicate these groups from the streets for good, with them out of the way Acme will rule over all.
“Order will be returned; the order of my grandma tried to bring all those years ago… Now it’s my turn to bring it to a reality.”
“Sir are you sure you want to go through with this! This client he’s our deadliest assassin leader we have!”
The guards stepped aside a tall bunny entered the room, he wore a permanent frown, his stare could only be described as icy and distant. He was the type of person people bowed their heads to when walking past as if a single action would make them quiver and shake in fear. He wore a black buttoned up suit with a clear spade on his forehead.
“Ahh Mr Acmeton, always a pleasure my good man” The bunny said with an icy stare yet his voice far from sarcastic.
“Mr Bunny always a pleasure” Mr Acmeton said as he grabbed two glasses of bear one for each of them.
“It has come to my attention you need my help! And I’m not a man of charity, what’s in it for me!?” Mr Bunny said not even bothering to drink his beverage.
“Ah! Straight to the point I see! Well as you know with the meteor striking, the city is in shambles, and we need me and my company to pick up the pieces! I can’t have anyone speaking out against us! I MUST NOT FALL! This is Acme’s only chance at WORLD DOMINATION! I NEED U AND YOUR LITTLE SQUAD TO GO DOWN TO THE STREETS AND EXTERMINATE, EVERY SINGLE SOUL THAT IS AN OPPRESSOR OF US!... And in exchange for your great efforts, you won’t be executed for your little assassinations of those Acme government officials you think we don’t know about!” Mr Acmeton expressed smirking.
The bunny squinted harder, giving Mr Acmeton a hard glare before gulping down his beer the boss gave to him before replying.
“Mmm fine! Me and my team will do your dirty work for you! But I get my slice, I want 20%” The bunny said completely serious.
“20% of what if I may ask Mr. Bunny!?” Mr Acmeton asked smirking.
“Of the Acme company!” The bunny stated blankly with a stare that could kill.
“Deal!” Mr. Acmeton said offering a firm handshake. “You deal with the rats that hang around my streets, and I deal with the desperation of our citizens!”
The bunny stared at the man for a moment then down at the hand, after a few seconds he shook it.
“WELCOME ABOARD MR BUNNY!” Mr Acmeton said.
It had officially been one week since Zadavia first called up Delilah, one week since Delilah accepted and one week of anticipation and nervousness upon meeting her new teammates, seemingly she’ll be spending the rest of her life with.
Delilah had found herself in this tower that Zadavia had sent to her a few days before her arrival, along with an email with some general information about the team. Nothing crazy just some of their names with general information on what powers they have, and their photos attached to them. Delilah spent a while looking at the photos of each of her new teammates, they looked nice enough, clearly very distinct personalities from one another but she wasn’t one to judge. However, the male duck on there… it made Delilah pause for a minute.
She seemed fixated on it like he was someone she knew… like someone she has been searching for all her life but had seemingly just vanished. Eventually she brushed it off and scrolled through everyone else before putting her phone away.
“There’s no way that can be him” Delilah mumbled before shoving her phone in her pocket.
Delilah arrived at the top floor of the building with her small suitcase of stuff he took with her, she went up the lift to the top floor to find she was the first one there, well other than Zadavia who gave her a warm smile, gesturing for her to come in. Delilah smiled back nervously and she was much taller than expected, making Delilah a bit more nervous now about her.
“Hello there, Delilah I’m assuming” Zadavia turned to her with a smile.
“Yes ma’am! That’s me! Delilah up and ready for action” Delilah said trying to hide the nervousness in her voice.
“Well, you are the first to arrive! The others shouldn’t be too long! I need to go take care of something; I’ll be back in a few minutes” Zadavia said as she turned and left into the other room.
Delilah now being alone wasn’t exactly sure what to do! According to what Zadavia had said that there were 7 other teammates joining her. Delilah sat on the couch and started to ponder about her new teammates. Would they get along? Would they hate her and never talk to her?
Delilah was both excited and scared at the exact same time! However her thoughts were interrupted by two others entering the building, they were two bunnies, one male the other female.
“Ugh! Finally, we’re here! That car ride took ages” The male bunny said as the female bumped his shoulder signaling him to shut up already.
“Oh, cease your whining Ace! I honestly can never tell the difference between you and a toddler sometimes!” The female bunny said unimpressed by his whining,
“Oh, you’re the one to talk Lexi! Mrs. perfect golden child over here folks always making sure things go her way!” Ace said throwing his hands up in the air.
The two bickered for a bit, seemingly being so lost trying to one-up each other in insults they didn’t see Delilah sitting on the couch watching them until she spoke out breaking their bickering.
“Hi, um I’m assuming your two of the new recruits Zadavia hired” Delilah said walking over to both of them.
“Ahh hello there! Don’t mind my lame little sister, I’m Ace and this is my annoying brat of a sister Lexi Bunny! And you are!?” Ace said as he extended his hand to shake.
“Delilah Duck! Pleasure to meet you both!” Delilah said, shaking Ace’s hand.
The mutual handshake didn’t last long as Lexi butted in between the two of them. “And I’m Lexi! Don’t mind my little brother over here! He thinks he’s still the heartthrob that everyone is gushing over, but pleasure to meet you Delilah” she said giving Delilah a small wave hello.
Before Delilah could answer they heard another excited voice coming through the door.
“HELLO-HELLO-HI-HI-HI EVERYONEEEE-MY-NAME-IS-REV-RUNNER-OH-IM-SO-HAPPY-TO-BE-HERE-AND-MEET-ALL-OF-YOU!!!” The roadrunner said in much excitement it made everyone’s head spin.
Before anyone could slow the poor road runner down with his talking escapade another voice came bursting through the door and out emerged a rather grumpy-looking coyote. His fur seemed messy like he hadn’t been combed in a while; he wore what seemed like a permanent frown and didn’t seem one for much social interaction.
“UGH! CAN U KEEP THAT NOISE DOWN!? It’s giving me a headache!” The coyote said while rolling his eyes sarcastically.
The coyote was prominently tall with an athletic type build and at first glance didn’t seem too friendly, but no one was one to judge just because he was a coyote.
“OH-OH-OH-MY-GOSH-I’M-SO-SORRY!!!” Rev ranted again before Tech reached and physically held his mouth closed so Rev would shut stop talking.
“There now you won’t talk as much” Tech smirked slightly holding Rev’s mouth shut before Rev nodded slightly before Tech let go, the roadrunner didn’t talk now for a good minute, before speeding off to say hi to his other teammates.
Delilah, seeing this interaction, tried to approach the seemingly grumpy coyote but all she earned was a hard stare as she tried to introduce herself to him.
“Oh, you must be Tech! Pleasure to meet you! I’m Delilah, Delilah Duck!” Delilah said with a smile, but the coyote just continued to stare her down while staying silent seemingly refusing to talk to anyone
Delilah eventually took the hint the coyote didn’t want to talk to her, she frowned and turned away from the coyote who was snarling at her now. Delilah turned away trying to ignore him now! She could tell Tech and her weren’t going to get along very well! Honestly it wouldn’t kill him to be nice or at least be humanely decent and say hello.
The coyote didn’t seem like he liked anyone in the building really! He kept giving everyone dirty looks like they were all up to no good. After a few minutes of what seemed to be the coyote examining everyone like a police interrogation, he took his stuff and disappeared deeper into the tower, supposedly trying to find his room.
Rev ended up following him not wanting the coyote to wonder off by himself for too long just in case he got lost, they hadn’t even seen Zadavia yet and the coyote already looked sick of everyone.
Tech was walking down the hallway seemingly wanting to find his room, unpack and settle in while trying to figure out to avoid everyone for as long as possible and only interact when absolutely necessary. However his train of thought was interrupted by a familiar yet equally annoying voice. Ugh it was that road runner again.
“HEY-HEY-TECH-WAIT-UP!” Rev said running after him before accidentally crashing into him due to his superspeed and they both crashed down to the floor.
“AGH! WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM!?” Tech said angrily as he frantically picked up his stuff which half of it consisted of gadgets and building supplies to build his inventions.
Rev instantly feeling bad for crashing into the coyote once again started to frantically apologise to him. “AH-I’M-SO-SORRY-AGAIN-I-DIDN’T-MEAN-TO-HONEST-BUT-I-SOAR-THAT-YOU-LEFT-AND-I-DIDN’T-WANT-YOU-TO-GET-LOST-SO-I-“ Rev couldn’t even finish his sentence before Tech again grabbed his beak together to shut him up.
“Spare me your cheap apologies, all you roadrunners are the same, just live to make our lives miserable! You all stop at nothing to make us feel lesser than what we are! WELL NEWSFLASH! We aren’t stupid!” Tech said in a serious tone.
“Oh-no-you-got-it-all-wrong-I-only-meant-to- AGH OKAY!” Rev tried to explain but the coyote gripped his beak tighter before glaring at him once more.
“You listen to me runner, stay out of my way and we won’t have issues! I know what your family is like! Your one of them, don’t deny it and say you aren’t! Now could you be so kind and LEAVE ME ALONE” Tech said finally letting go of Rev’s beak before grabbing his stuff and walking away.
Rev looked down sadly for once having nothing to say before he sped back the way he came to meet the others who were still coming in.
*Meanwhile with the others*
A new face had joined the team now too, a rather tall and larger Tasmanian devil named Slam seemed to join the team, he didn’t talk much but the team could tell he was very excited to be here. Delilah waved him over and they all started chatting to one another.
The others had been mingling with each other for a bit while they were waiting for the others to show up to introduce themselves, Delilah had been talking to Lexi for a bit, getting to know each other a bit more, they ended up having a lot of things in common especially their taste in music, they were having a deep seeded conversation about different genres of music.
However, before Delilah could say anything else another voice came from the lift. It was a low voice, barely a whisper but there. Delilah saw it was another duck, she had a small beak and figure, her hair bared the colour red that made her stand out more than what she appears to like.
“Hi… I uhm… is this the Loonatics Unleashed HQ!?” Eva asked nervously fidgeting with her hands looking down a bit.
“Yes, hi there! I’m Delilah, pleasure to meet you- Ah sorry I didn’t catch your name!” Delilah said with a smile.
“My-… name is Eva” Eva said in a whispery voice looking down at her hands.
Before anyone could say anything else, Lexi spoke up.
“Oh my gosh, Eva!? Eva from highschool Eva!?” Lexi said walking over.
“Lexi!?” Eva said finally looking up seeing her best friend standing in front of her with an excited smile which made Eva smile wider too with a faint blush appearing on her cheeks.
“Ah! EVA, Oh my goodness its so good to see you! I’m so excited to be teammates together! Now we can train together and have gal time too! Oh this is gonna be awesome” Lexi said in excitement taking Eva’s hands in hers in excitement while Eva blushed harder now.
As the two girls were jumping in excitement and Ace was trynna make small talk with Rev who had returned from his little “chat” with Tech, but the talk Rev made was anything but small as the bird ranted on about everything and nothing while Ace stood there desperately trying to keep up with what the roadrunner was saying, while Delilah was snickering with Slam about Ace’s inability to keep up watching the poor bunny struggle.
And finally the last face came in, he was easily the smallest out all of them but his presence was definitely not going unnoticed, he may have been small but he was as loud as a banshee, seemingly trying to get all the attention on himself as everyone turned to look at him stopping what they were doing previously.
“UGH! Can you imagine a handsome fellow duck like myself having to take an uber that should cost way over the legal limit just to get here! HIGHWAY ROBBERY I TELL YOU!” Duck ranted as everyone turned to look at him.
“What!? GASP! ARE MY FEATHERS MESSED UP!?” Duck said pulling out a mirror and frantically checking making sure his image looked flawless. “Oh wait no false alarm, they’re fine! OHHH I get it! Your all staring because I just look that flawless, well yes, yes I know! Sadly I am not handing out autographs now!” Duck said batting his eye lashes waving one hand out.
“Uhh are you Danger Duck!?” Lexi spoke out breaking the silence of everyone else.
“AH! So you HAVE heard of me! Yes, Danger Duck at your service-uh who are you!?” Duck said as he walked over to Lexi.
“Lexi! Lexi Bunny” Lexi said with a slight smile.
“Well Lexi! I would say it’s a pleasure to meet you, but that would be a lie!” Duck smiled smugly as Lexi punched his arm and not in the playful way.
“AGH! SOME STRENGTH THERE LADY!” Duck said rubbing his arm as the two continued to bicker a bit more.
Hearing the noise, Tech also came back to the common room, with no bags so he must’ve found his room and put his stuff down already, he visibly rolled his eyes seeing another teammate who was capable of loud noise. “Ugh! Not another one” Tech mumbled to himself as he messaged his pupils.
While the two bickered Delilah observed the duck closely, he looked oh so familiar… like he was someone she knew… maybe he was but she couldn’t remember, she couldn’t remember much after the incident that weighed heavy on her mind. It almost felt like a dream or something she couldn’t quite grasp and hold onto long enough to remember. Duck sounded so familiar to her brother… was he him…? No no! He couldn’t be right!?
Delilah didn’t know what to think anymore, meeting everyone and getting these new powers were overwhelming as it is. She wanted to say something, anything! Introduce herself, talk a little more and get to know him better, maybe find out more about him to try and get at least a sense of security. However, before she could Zadavia came back in the room looking happy to finally see everyone there.
“Ah good, everyone is finally here! Hello everyone, my name is Zadavia, you are all here due to me getting word that you have gained extraordinary powers beyond your understanding! I would love to help you control them and you all will become symbols of light and redemption! People will look up to you and seek you for help!” Zadavia exclaimed as the team looked around all staring at one another for a brief second before turning back to look at Zadavia with wide eyes. “However, I cannot always be here to lead you on missions so I have carefully selected one of you to be the groups team leader, they will be responsible and you all must do as they say on missions” Zadavia said in a serious tone before pointing at Lexi signaling her to come forward.
Lexi looked around and pointed to herself making sure Zadavia meant her and not someone else. In response Lexi nervously walked past the group and now she was standing right in front of Zadavia looking up at her with nervous eyes, Zadavia put a hand on shoulder looking down at her before looking up at the rest of the team who were all now staring.
“Everyone! Meet Lexi Bunny your new team leader!” Zadavia said as it was a final statement.
