Not so rarely online I saw people outright asking, “What is up with Niffty?” “Why is she the way... she is?” Which I found myself asking the same thing — she is impulsive and childish, along with having this unusual fixation on gore and violence.
According to the information that can be found on her wiki:
«Died in the 1950s. In life, she gained notoriety as a serial killer born in Osaka, Japan, responsible for the brutal murders of several women — all in her misguided pursuit of winning the affections of Mr. Unmei, a manipulative and wealthy man whom she served as a maid.»
Niffty to Husk, bragging about murdering her love rivals — «I'll have you know, I've spent years mastering the art of slip-resistant dancing, you uncultured swine! Just ask the ladies who tried to steal Mr. Unmei away from me...»
My theory being that her behavior — such as the childish act, fixation on gore and violence — can be trauma response symptoms. Of course, after killing multiple people, no person can live untouched, and neither did she.
We have no information regarding her behavior when she was alive, and whether she was the same way back then, but based on the information I’m getting,
this is my theory:
People with PTSD may revisit trauma themes compulsively (e.g., violence, injury, death) — example being her killing little creatures like bugs in different violent ways, “in front of their children.»
Niffty also has very thin legs, that look like bug legs almost? Taking into account her being small and moving really fast most of the time, I think she’s one of the anthropomorphic bugs (like Angel being a spider or Valentino being a moth).
Which only adds up to the fact that she kills bugs as a mirroring of her trauma — because she may see bugs as alike to her, almost like the women she killed when she was alive.
Her childish act can also be taken as a trauma response. Example being her crying over Angel not letting her get to the cleaning supplies in the club. She is permanently age-regressed due to stress she wasn’t able to comprehend.
What do you think about my theory? Do you have any of your own?
