In reality, Dawn Owl College has a pretty hectic curriculum! Not only does each dorm have specialized courses and subjects, but they're also required to have TWO CLUBS as soon as they're not a freshman anymore. It's been such a norm that freshmen apply to these clubs as early as the first semester just to lessen the crashdown.

Performative clubs (Dance, Band, Culture, and Technicals) are meant for exclusive performances and numbers in events, such as VDC/SDC opening numbers. The school doesn't have an entrance ceremony and only has an orientation (They ain't got the Mirror, soooo), so the performances are necessary to hype up the freshmen

Competitive Clubs (Volleyball, Debate, Wrestling, E-Sports, Research, Journalism) are designed for competing in inter-school tournaments. They used to have Spelldrive, but uh... not anymore I guess

Each girl has one of the two categories, and BOY are they relieved that they get to stay in NRC for a while... even though they're in for internships HELP THESE BABIES THEY CAN'T STUDY NO MORE-
