@tolkiengenweek day 1: family
Maglor Fëanorion during the golden age of valinor 🌟
What's in the carafe? Could be water, could be poison. Could be a sleeping potion from Estë to be used on specific members of the family....
the house of Fëanor is latino btw Tolkien wrote this to me before he died
Canafinwë Macalaurë Fëanárion, aka Maglor.

(Just thought about that skit with Feanor's mom's name )
You: *Watching on the side as Feanor and Fingolfin were in a heated argument*
Maglor: *sighs* By the valars --- what are they arguing about now?
You: Well--- I might be partly to blame for this.
Maglor: What do you mean?
You: I was studying your language, then I came across the 'Þ' and 's' letter variations. I was confused by their purpose so I asked your dad to explain them to me.
You: He then explains the letter's origin and purpose, and then I asked if there are occasions where I have to use the other letter variation.
You: He then says no and that since the 'Þ' is the original, thus it's more respectful to use it, and technically told me to ignore the existance of 's.'
You: Then Fingolfin came and said there are some occasions where using the 's' is more appropriate. Your dad disagreed and now... they're arguing.
You&Maglor : *Watching the argument between his dad and uncle unfold*
You: You know--- I expected your dad get mad about many things, but over a letter was not one of them.
You: I'm also now more confused.
Pinching the bridge of his nose, exhaling slowly as his father gestured wildly, his voice rising and Fingolfin, equally stubborn, fired back with just as much ferosity. The debate over a single letter. He glanced at you, eyes weary yet faintly amused. “You’ve done something remarkable,” he murmured. “You’ve managed to turn a linguistic curiosity into a family feud.”
The argument grew louder, and he sighed. “At this rate, they’ll rewrite the alphabet just to spite each other.”
