Amrod... *deep sigh*
I swear I wanted to post something else but the heart does what he heart wants! ⸜(ˊᗜˋ)⸝
I hope you like this take on #Ambarussa 💙
@feanorianweek day 6;
Ambarussa's childhood. Pityo and Telvo are now 20 years old, big enough to visit grandfather Mahtan's remote house all by themselves! After begging their parents for weeks, Fëanáro and Nerdanel relented, and sent the boys on their way. They had drawn a map, but they soon learned it might not be as accurate as they thought it was... should've asked Nelyo for help, he studied cartography after all! It's a big world for little twins!
(Fefe and Nerdie sent Tyelko to keep track of the boys so that nothing bad would happen. Tyelko stays hidden so the twins think they're all alone.)
That's all the boys done! Again, sorry for being late. And yes; the twins are colour-coded! Pityo is blue, and Telvo is green. That's how they were kept apart as infants (Fëanor knitted them little hats) and it stuck throughout their childhood.
day 12: scones 🥐
"We made some scones!”
Káno, who had been in the middle of playing a dramatic nocturne on the piano, turned to see the Ambarussa behind him—holding a plate of exquisite pastries.
Káno’s mouth watered. He snatched a few scones and stuffed them in his mouth. They were both sweet and soft. He savored every bite.
“Pityo, Telvo, your cooking will never fail to impress me,” Káno exclaimed, licking the crumbs off his fingers. “It surpasses even Ammë’s!”
Pityo grinned. “Thank you, hanno!”
Telvo frowned, glancing at the piano. “When was the last time you ate?”
Káno didn’t answer that.

"We made some scones!”
Maglor, who had been in the middle of composing another depressing stanza of the Nolodantë, turned to see Elrond and Elros behind him—holding a plate of exquisite pastries.
“These look wonderful, you two!” Maglor said. His eyes narrowed. “We’re on rations. Where did you get sugar?”
“Atto took care of it,” Elros said impatiently. “Come on, just try one!” he exclaimed.
Maglor laughed and took one.
He ate it.
The twins looked at him eagerly.
“Pityo, Telvo, this tastes wonderful!” Káno exclaimed.
Elrond cocked his head. “Who?”
Maglor blinked.
“Sorry, I—…just lost in thought.”

all drabbles
The whole Umbarto/Ambarto thing is so bizarre. Consider:
Fëanor wants his sons’ names to reflect their individuality; Nerdanel thinks it’s important to preserve their special bond as twins. Fëanor is wrong. What’s the angle here? Is Fëanor ‘disrupting the balance’ by insisting both atar- and amilessës are individual? Does he just not like the names?
--which is the second bizarre bit. All Nerdanel’s other name have some deeper character significance (except Maedhros’, which is just ironic) than ‘redhead’. Was the hair colour a foresight barrier? How in Eä is it relevant enough to their character to merit being an amilessë?
So I get where Fëanor’s coming from, except I don’t because the twin in question? He named him ‘little-Finwë’, which makes even less sense. Yes the ataressës seem more distinguishing than perceptive, but ‘little’ isn’t a very distinguishing adjective: if Amrod was short Amras would be, too, so that’s a moot point. Was he unusually slender-boned? Unusually quiet? He can’t take after his mother that much, then, Nerdanel is hardly ‘little’--or does he just go unnoticed? Does ‘little’ in this case mean ‘easy to overlook’, and did Nerdanel think that covered the 'foresight' bases pretty damn well? Maybe she thought 'fated neglectee' was overkill.
So in my Spanish class, the teacher has assignments on the board that say something like, "Tiana es Alta y trabajadora."
But recently, she ran out of Disney princesses and random names, so she had us write names on index cards and turn them in.
She handed me a couple of index cards, and I immediately the knowledge of the House of Finwë spark in my brain like,

This is the shortest one yet! So of Course I'm posting it here as well.
He had gone to sleep on a boat. The gentle rocking of the sea lulling him as his mother's arms once did.
Then there was PAIN! Burning, smoke and the sound of fire surrounding him. When he remembered, that's all he could remember. Sleep had stolen any knowledge of what happened. The end was just fire and smoke and no way out.
“Meramilyë” had been his last word. As he suffocated and burned alive. ‘Want Mummy’.
-=-
He awoke in a garden. Beautiful and full of life. He had been returned from the halls. Looking around he saw a beautiful red-headed elf. He grinned at the memory returning.
“I’m told you wanted me, Umbarto.” Nerdanel held out her arms to him.
“Amilyë!” He sprung into her arms.
Nerdanel hugged him. “I’m sorry your atar burned your boat.”
Umbarto paused.
“Is that what you saw for me?”
“Sadly yes Umbarto, but you’re home now.”
Umbarto (Amrod) Means Fated and was given to which ever twin's fate Nerdanel has seen. amilyë - Mummy Affectionate name a child uses Meramilyë - meaning want mummy
Hey what if it was Amras who burnt with the ships in Ships Canon and Amrod is just a liar
Have we thought of that
It still kinda works with the ‘fated/doomed’ thing too because wow life in the first age sucked
