I have a fun ask, how about a magician reborn as a cybertronian , they use their tricks to entertain other cybertronians or be like Robin hood.!
( idk if you saw "Now you see me" , but if you do i highly recommend it!)
Oh, I have seen all the "Now you see me" movies. They were great, and I can imagine a reborn magician being one of Cybertron's greatest entertainers and one of its greatest thieves.
After the Magician was reborn and witnessed the cruelties of the caste system, they would definitely take the Robin Hood road to help the poor and those who can't defend themselves. They would first secure a position as Cybertron's top entertainer, gaining the admiration of many. And when the Magician commits crimes or heists that no one can solve, law enforcement can't pinpoint any accusations or proof against them.
No one can even tell if the Magician is Cybertron's greatest thief.
All they could tell is that something valuable gets stolen, then some charity made to help the lower caste bots receives a generous donation from an anonymous patron.
Like most of Cybertron's law enforcement are certain that the Magician is the thief, but with no proof or idea how the Magician commits their crimes, they can't be arrested.
I say the Magician is seen positively by the lower caste bots. The Magician often gives them free shows and even lends their own wealth to help their friends and those in need.
And perhaps, behind the scenes, the Magician offers guidance on how to commit heists without getting caught.
hello again!!
soooo... i have another idea! based on my tadc oc, but here you go: magician reader where jax is the rabbit in their hat with a Mordecai and Rigby dynamic (either way around works!!)
(reader is also able to bend some of rules of the circus being a magician and greatly abuses that power <3)
₊˚𝄞₊˚⊹magic duo‧₊˚♪₊˚
pairing : jax (tadc) x reader [ best friends! ]
tags : gn reader, oneshot, censored swearing, jax and reader being an iconic duo, CHAOS
word count : 930
you : pink lines┊jax : purple lines┊ragatha : blue lines┊caine : red lines ┊pomni : red, yellow and blue lines
summary : jax finally accepted his fate to be his magician best friend’s rabbit in the hat, creating one of the most iconic duos in the circus (*´∀`)♪
jax really loved you. but don’t get me wrong, he didn’t like LOVE love you, he just really enjoyed to have you as his friend; which is weird because he never actually liked anyone in the circus before, let alone care about them. but the dynamic you two had.. it was iconic. the key element to the reason of you being best friend, was that you’re a magician. which is actually very cool, because you also were one in your real life.. okay you actually were one of those that people pay to entertain children’s birthday parties, and that’s kinda depressing, BUT here.. anything you can imagine and more can be real, also, caine is nice enough to let you bend the circus laws and rules with your magic.
that being said, since every respectable magician has always had a bunny to take out from their hat, you have jax. you two would always be together, sometimes jax would even let you carry him inside your cylinder-shaped black hat, aaannddd.. put up magic shows for everyone! such as..
“and welcome everyone to the 10th magic show of the day! are you all excited??” you enthusiastically scream standing on the stage, gesturing dramatically with your hands and waving around your magic wand.
the crowd was silent, no one actually matched your enthusiasm, probably because you and jax have so much fun “performing” in front of them that they’ve grown REALLY tired of watching these shows.
“oohh~.. tough crowd i see~… but, wait a second..” you start counting all of your viewers: ragatha, pomni, kinger, zooble, gangle, caine, bubble.. and…
“2.. 3.. 4.. 5.. but hey, i think someone’s missing.. can YOU tell me who?” you smile widely at your crowd waiting for an answer.
“jax. jax is missing.” pomni is the first to spit it out with the most annoyed expression ever, she rools their eyes and huffs, they all basically knew this number by heart at this point.
“OH, RIGHT!” you jump in excitement, kind of faking your surprise, then begin to whisper to yourself:
“let’s reach inside the hat and…” you sink your hand inside the raven hat and there he was, in all his glory:
“LADIES AND GENTLEMEN.. JAX!” you grab him by the ears and take him out the hat, he’s smiling so happily it looked genuine all the time, and this goes on for awhile, with other numbers, tricks, and other numbers..
“the look on their faces when you pulled me out was.. priceless!” jax laughs with you after the show, you two already talking about what to do next.
“i know right? but you know what would be EVEN better?” you rub your palms together and give him an evilish grin, you two were up to something..
“oh, ragathaaa~ my sweet, sweet ragathaaa~ come to daddy~…”
“don’t ever call yourself like that again.” ragatha comes up to you already visibly fed up with you two’s bullshit.
“wanna see a magic trick?~” you walk a step closer to her, your invade her personal space so much your noses are almost touching. and she doesn’t answer, just stands there with half her eyelids down and her arms crossed.
“that’s good!” you take a few steps back and faking a ‘professional tone’ you order to jax:
“my honorable assistant, would you mind stepping beside ms.licorice hair?”
“without a doubt~” jax moves to stand next to ragatha and looks you straight in the eyes, then gives you a little nod.. the signal.
“ladies and gentlemen, for my next trick i present to you.. THE GENDER SWAP!”
[ poof ! ]
after you quickly waved your magic wand at them, a purple with yellow sparkles nebula appeared around jax and ragatha, and as soon as it dissolved in the air.. they swapped genders. yeah, totally not intuitive by the trick’s name.
you then take a mirror and turn it to them, very proud of your work.
“WHAT THE F!%K JUST HAPPENED?!” it was actually the first time you’ve ever heard ragatha swear. she jumps in her place looking at the reflection, she.. or should i say he? pretty much looked the same, except for the shorter hair that still kept the licorice-red-candy vibe and the cowboy attire.
“HOW DO WE TURN BACK?!?!?”
“i actually really like this~…” jax caresses his own face with his gloved hand, the only difference being that now he has eyeliner along with eyelashes, the overalls he’s wearing have a skirt instead of pants at the end, and his voice is much softer and high-pitched. she was actually really pretty.
“ARE YOU ACTUALLY OUT OF YOUR MIND?!” while ragatha keeps freaking out, you two just admire together the female jax..
“CAINE!! HOW DO YOU EVEN LET Y/N DO THESE THINGS? IS THIS ALLOWED?!?!” ragatha calls for caine and immediately snitches, but unfortunately for her..
“i let them because they’re a magician and stuff, so.. also, even if i told them not to do anything they want when they want y/n would still find a way to do it.” caine was already so fed up with you and jax’s shenanigans that he just stopped caring about you two being a complete menace to everyone.
“womp womp~..” you make faces at ragatha hiding behind caine, then start laughing at her with jax: “come on rags, it’s not like you weren’t ugly as a girl too~..”
“OOOOOOHHHHH” you hype jax up as he keeps roasting her, then you two close with your signature handshake.
“okay fine, oh my god you’re so annoying ragatha~…” you smirk and roll your eyes at her, before swinging your magic wand in the air once again, getting everything back to normal.
then she doesn’t even say thank you, just storms off to go anywhere BUT next to y’all.
“well then.. be a good boy and get back in the hat, jaxy~..” spending so much time with him made you literally start to pull off his signature smirk, and humor, also.
“hell no! you weirdo!!” he looks at you with a jokingly-disgusted face while he laughs, and gives you a little push backwards from your shoulder;
“come oonn~.. you don’t wanna be punished, right?~..” you keep teasing him and progressively get closer within every step back he takes, then..
“SHUT UP YOU’RE DISGUSTING!!” and now there you are, chasing jax all around the circus while you two die of laughter disturbing everyone else’s peace.
and this sums up really well how your friendship was, even if you both didn’t actually know for how long you’ve been friends, it felt like you knew each other all your lives; forming together a storm of pure chaos and dumbness.
crocs says : I LOVE REGULAR SHOW MAN, I WAS SO HAPPY TO WRITE THIS 😋
if you want to leave a note with advice or anything it would be highly appreciated !! please remember to be kind to me and everyone else in the comments !
king of day Sun and lord of nights Moon, bonding with Cursed-AU Y/N,,,,,, bc they are simps in every au i make sorry i dont make the rules
(BONUS: AU LORE/INFO BELOW, ALONG WITH ANOTHER [story-relevant] DOODLE!)
Some lore about the curse au, copy and pasted from the discord bc im lazy and im very very sorrys fjfkhdskjh:
Okay so. Casting magic takes energy, bc this is an angsty au
The bigger-more complex-more powerful the spell is, the more energy it takes. The most powerful spells can take as much energy as in multiple human lives. There’s legends of spells cast during wars or battles that fell entire armies at once purely just by being cast
NORMALLY, when casting a spell, the magic comes from the world/plant life/living things around the caster
A curse is a kind of Forbidden Magic that can span generations. If one casts a curse that the cursed one will never quench their thirst, or they will never have enough sleep (simple curses for example), the curse could be passed down to their children, sometimes for multiple generations
A curse is ALSO a kind of spell that goes out of its way to deliberately alter the future and continues to- it’s basically a spell that’s constantly working when most spells are more like they last for a few seconds or maybe a minute or two then they’re done and the magic is used up and gone
So if you’re cursed to never feel warmth, there’s magic around you or in you that is constantly sapping the warmth from you or putting chills into you. You can’t see it, but it’s always there, even if just in small amounts
So when a curse is cast, it takes a lot of energy. Like, multiple human lives’ worth
There are ways to circumvent the possibility of killing the people around you (or yourself), like having some animals recently sacrificed, which is the most commonly heard of version
But. Sometimes, very rarely. One might cast a curse on a whim, without planning on it or really considering the series of events leading up to it or following
Cursed AU Reader did that once. Cursed someone in a fit of rage or passion
They were standing in a field, ready for a harvest festival, at the time
The fields withered and died and it’ll take years for them to get back to being fit enough to grow anything in
The mark of a cursed witch, which is a sign from Wiccan culture meant for containing(?), basically keeps the Marked Person from taking any magic from the world around them
The only energy they can use is the energy their physical body contains- and if they use too much or too frequently, they’ll kill themselves in the process
Basically it’s a way of making sure the caster can never use enough magic to really do much of anything sjdgdhdhd
and,,,,, the concept art for a moment i might write abt at some point,,
"And for my next trick, I'll need a lovely member of the audience to assist me."
How that line fills their heart so, no matter how terrible the pain that follows. It allows them to reminisce. To travel back to the early days of your career and it was just you and them in a small crowd. With how eager they were each time, there was no other choice for an assistant. Each show, you'd whisk them away from a mundane life and unto the magical world that was your little stage. Your tricks weren't the hardest to decipher, but in such a cruel place they were all your biggest fan needed. They played along to it all for just one more chance to be one with someone greater than themself.
But those chances have now run dry.
"How about you? Looks like you've got no one else occupying your time."
Sorrow consumes them as the fading stage lights leaves them to drown; following their seatmate as you drag them on stage. The hands of their angel, pulling another from oblivion - it was hell. They watch with drawn lips as your assistant follows along to your whim. Assistant, no- that wasn't the correct word. There was only one person for that roll. The one on stage was a mere imitation. They could never fit the role more than the one who knew your show inside and out. Who knew you better than you did yourself.
It's why they could still smile that day, for they knew they would be the one you'd choose when you finally decided to hire a permanent assistant. There wasn't a single candidate better for the part, or who'd be left to oppose them.
"And for my next trick, I'll need my lovely assistant to help me out. Be a dear and take my hand?"
This maybe an unusual request but can you do one the reader 👨 has 🔥 ( Magic) and acts like vincent van ghoul from scooby doo and is the husband of Alcina/Miranda
Broken Truth: A Husband like Vincent Van Ghoul? That's an interesting ask. Since I did a Tomb Raiding Husband for Mother Miranda, I'll do the Magician Husband for Alcian and the daughters. Let the words weave together.
[Long slender fingers turned the page of the book as focused [Eye Color] eyes looked at the words on the page while mumbling to himself when the sound of heels clicking got the eyes to pull away from the words on the book and look in the direction of the door, just as the tall figure of Alcina Dimitrescu ducked under the door and stood straight with a smile on her painted lips.]
Husband (Closes the book with a thumb on the page he was reading): Alcina, my love. Is there something I can do for you?
Alcina (Walks over to her husband's side and leans down to kiss him on his lips before she sits in the chair on side of him): It's nothing, Draga, I just wanted to see you. (Holds up an empty wine glass) Do you mind?
Husband (Waves his hand - a bottle of wine being levitating and floats over to Alcina's glass before tilting over and filling Alcina's Glass with red wine before floating back to its' place as the magic leaves the glass vessel): Nordic Red. I got it from Eliza's Boyfriend, Fenrir.
Alcina (Exhales and rolls her eyes at the same time as she leans back in her chair): I don't want to talk about that Man-Thing, I tried to scare him but he looked completely unfazed; I was embarrassed in front of my daughters and some of the maids.
Husband (Exhales): Darling wife of mine, don't you think it's time that you accepted Fenrir in the family? He has been with Eliza for over a year now and it's rather clear that the two of them love each other.
Alcina: That man-thing is not worthy of my daughter, I shall never accept him...but his Nordic Wine is a good enough reason to keep him around.
[Husband] opens his mouth to speak when there is a crash coming from the foyer. He exhales and rises to his feet before holding his hand out to Alcina to take - she takes his hand and he snaps his fingers with his other hand - teleporting the two of them into the foyer where the chandelier was broken on the ground. He looked at the daughters, who gulped and looked around before pointing at Cassandra.]
Bela and Daniela: She did it!!!
Cassandra: Traitors!!!
Husband (Lifts his hand to silence the daughters): Do not worry, daughters, I shall deal with this.
[With a snap of his fingers, [Husband] causes the magic to flow around the fallen chandelier and lifted it from the ground before connecting the broken links together again as he lifts his other hand and levitates to the ceiling before using a torch spell with his fingers to bond the large ornament back to the ceiling before he released it, letting it dangle again. He exhaled and looked at the daughters before folding his arms.]
Husband: Cassandra, dear, care to explain how the chandelier broke?
Cassandra: Dani bet me that I couldn't spin the chandelier and I wanted to prove her wrong.
Husband (Floats to the ground): And what was the bet?
Daniela: 500 Lei.
Husband: Alright. That's a 500 Lei deduction from both of your allowances.
Cassandra and Daniela: What?! Papa, that's not fair!
Husband: I can take your allowance for this week completely if you want.
Cassandra and Daniela: No, sir!
Husband: Good. Now, I'm going to finish my book before dinner. Ta-Ta. (Disappears)
Warnings: Marius is unsupportive and angsty as usual~
Masterlist
“Y/N! You’re insane, you know that?” Marius asked as you put a baseball cap on and turned the dial to the town.
“Your point?” you asked as you turned to the ceramic basin.
“Why would a wizard give you one of his spells?”
“Well, you never know until you try, right?” you asked happily as you opened the door. “Any last words before I leave?”
“You’re-”
“Nope, bye Marius!” you called before you darted out the door.
“Y/N! Stop cutting me off!” Marius yelled moments before the door slammed shut behind you.
You began the walk through town towards the shop that you saw the other day. “Okay, just be polite, ask if they have the spell, if not, run.” You mumbled to yourself as you walked through the crowds of people. You looked down at your feet to avoid eye contact with other people, and when you slowed down, you looked up to see the shop of ‘The Great Wizard Jenkins’. “Okay, let’s do this.” You took a deep breath and then knocked on the door. Moments later the door opened to the same stunted man, er kid, from the other day.
“Hello, how can I help you?”
“You don’t happen to have a spell, do you?” you asked sweetly. After thinking about your sentence you sighed at your vagueness.
“You were that person who ran away the other day, right?” the kid asked gruffly.
“No! You must be confused with someone else.” You said quickly as your hand moved to your (h/c) locks of hair. You gave a small scratch before your hand flew back down at your side. “You don’t happen to have a spell that’ll, uh, I don’t know, hypothetically be able to turn you into, well, an animal, preferably a bird, you know, like, uh, hypothetically speaking of course.” You said quietly while not looking at the kid.
“Are you a witch/wizard?” the kid asked.
“What? No! What makes you think that?” you asked in a panicked fashion. Your hair was slowly turning into a (different hair color) starting from when you scratched it. Magic.
“Only a witch/wizard would want to look for a spell like that.” The kid answered.
“Well, you know, it’s all hypothetical and such. I don’t want it for myself, I’m just looking for a gift, for, uh, for a friend. Yeah! Because I totally have friends, why wouldn’t I have friends?” you silently cursed at yourself for your awkwardness and the conversation that you were having.
“No. We don’t give out spells like that. It’s too dangerous. Especially for that friend of yours, who doesn’t know what they’re doing, unless they are a witch or wizard.” The kid said smoothly.
Darn, he saw right through it, “okay, yeah, thank you. I’m sorry for wasting your time, again. I mean! Not again, we definitely haven’t met before. Okay, I’ll leave. Sorry for bothering you!” you yelled the last part out as you ran away from the shop. Again.
“You’re not as subtle as you think you are!” the kid yelled after you.
“Good to know old man!” you yelled in return.
“Children.” You heard the kid grumble behind you.
“I wouldn’t say that!” you yelled at him, “you’re not older than me!” you laughed when you saw the stunned look on the kids face before sprinting away. You may like to get a rise out of people, but you don’t like the consequences, and there was no way you were going to test out this kids’ consequences.
You quickly weaved your way through the crowd of pedestrians as you ran back towards the little building that housed the portal to your house. As you ran past people you decided that you were going to break in.
Now, to any normal person, breaking into a wizard’s house was insane, but, that was exactly what you excelled at. At least, according to Marius.
You successfully made it to your door without being pursued by an angry wizard, or an angry pedestrian. You casually leaned against the unassuming door and slipped in. “Marius!” you called out.
“Oh, you’re back already. Did it work?” Marius asked in a bored fashion from his bowl.
“Does it look like it worked?” you asked as you threw your baseball cap onto a desk that was steadily getting more cluttered with every passing day.
Marius looked up at you from his bowl in the corner, “I’d say you participated in a marathon because for some reason you thought that running in a marathon was a better idea than asking for a spell.”
“Huh, not too far off.” You mused, “anyways. I didn’t get the spell.”
“No surprise there.” Marius scoffed.
“But, I did get this wonderful idea.” You continued.
“A wonderful idea?” Marius looked at you disbelievingly, “why do I get the nagging suspicion that your ‘wonderful idea’ is actually a horrible idea that’ll probably get everyone killed.”
“It’s not going to get everyone killed.” You retorted, “I’m ashamed that you think that of me! I’m just going to break into the house and get the spell for myself.”
“That is the worst idea I’ve heard in centuries.” Marius said immediately, “and I was best friends with a minnow for like half of that time.”
You ignored what Marius had said and set to work on creating a foolproof plan. You got out some paper and wrote out a rough outline of what you were going to do. It started with an invisibility spell, you’d follow another person into the shop and just camp out by the door until they all left. Once everyone was gone, you’d search for the spell.
You smiled to yourself, this plan could either fail or be amazing. Marius leaned towards the crash and burn end of the spectrum, but you liked the idea of this plan. It seemed foolproof.
“Y/N, are you seriously writing up a plan?” Marius asked from his corner. You simply ignored him, you didn’t need any of his negativity. “Just don’t crash and burn alright.” Marius sighed, “there’s no way I’ll be able to roll my way to the lake if this house falls apart.”
“Glad to know you care about me.” You said as you leafed through your books on spells.
Marius scoffed, “no. I don’t care about you, I just care about my well being.”
“Same thing.” You waved as you pulled out a large book from the shelf. You shoved some papers off of the table and dropped the heavy book onto the table. It was leather bound and the cover was worn and faded from time. If you looked hard enough, you could barely make out an elaborate insignia and some words in an ancient language.
“At the rate you're going you’re going to end up living in a pigsty!” Marius insulted.
You ignored him and flipped through the gold edged pages. The script was small and swirly, and if the yellowing pages had any indication, it was a rather old book.
“Y/N! Stop ignoring me! You’re being such a bore.” Marius whined.
“You try decoding the words of several centuries old writing.” You snapped back as you leaned down to try and read what the script said.
“Why on earth do you have a centuries old book?” Marius demanded.
“What? You think I’m the first witch/wizard in the family?”
“Why are you living on your own then!” Marius yelled in a fury.
You shrugged, “adventure. Independence. Human things.”
There was the sound of indignant splashing and Marius fell silent.
“You didn’t drown yourself over there, did you?” you asked after a few minutes of silence, except for the flipping of pages.
“Ha ha, very funny.” Marius laughed dryly. “What are you even looking for?”
“Invisibility spell.” You replied.
“Great, you’re going to be invisible. Let me guess, you’re going to sneak into Jenkin’s store and steal the spell.” You fell silent and didn’t answer Marius’ sarcastic comment. “Oh my gosh.” Marius cackled in disbelief, “you actually are! Wow, I think we know who won the award for dumbest plan.”
“Be quiet.” You grumbled to him.
“Honestly. I think you have a deathwish.” Marius continued to talk as if he hadn’t heard your quiet threat.
“Nobody asked for your opinion.” You snapped back.
“Ooh, looks like I hit a soft spot.” Marius cackled gleefully, “so, tell me, was it because I figured out what you were going to do?”
“Don’t make me throw this rock at you.” You turned to his corner and held up a rock that you had picked up for exactly this reason.
“You’d miss.” Marius said in reply, but you did hear some apprehension in his voice.
“Shall we test it and see?” you threatened.
“No! I’m good. You can keep your rock. I’ll be quiet!” Marius said hastily.
“You better be quiet.” You muttered darkly and turned back to your book.
You didn’t know how long you spent poring over the small print of the book, but when your back and neck started to scream from pain you decided to stand back up to stretch out your back. You stood up to your full height and raised your arms above you in a long stretch. You rubbed the back of your neck to try and get some knots out of it.
“Did you find it?” Marius’ sullen voice echoed in his bowl.
“No.” You sighed and pulled up a chair next to the book so you could continue flipping through the book. You were only halfway through the book, so you still had some hopes, but it was quickly dwindling.
“Ugh!” you shouted and let your face drop onto the book. You peeled your face away from it a moment later due to the dust that was causing you to sneeze. “This is impossible!” you shouted and stood up from the chair and stormed away.
“Maybe it’s a sign!” Marius eagerly shouted, “you should quit! Leave all the crazy wizard stuff to Howl and the Witch of the Waste!”
“Shut up Marius!” you yelled back and stormed out of the door.
“Marius I’m going out!” you called out to the water demon in the corner of the room, “do you need anything?” slung easily around your shoulder was a simple backpack, a clear sign that you were going to get something, considering how empty it was.
“Where’s ‘out’?” Marius asked forlornly.
You sighed at Marius’ depressing aura, “I’m going to town to get food. Now is there something you need?”
“I need you to take your soul back and free me from this curse.” Marius replied.
You sighed and adjusted the bag, “anything serious?”
“Why do you-”
“Okay bye Marius!” you didn’t bother to listen to the rest of his sentence before you flung open the door and left your house into town. You walked around the town and looked at the food stalls and thought about what you could make. “Well, I could always get some chinese take out.” You laughed quietly to yourself before you picked up a bright red tomato.
You quickly finished your shopping and began to wander around the town that your portal had led to. As you wandered around the town, you noticed a quaint looking shop nestled in the wall, “huh. ‘The Great Wizard Jenkins’.” You read aloud the painted words above the door. “Well, may as well check it out.” You gave a few knocks on the weathered wood door.
“Hello, how can I help you.” The door swung open and you had to look down to notice the small bearded man.
“Oh.” You carefully looked at the hooded man, “you’re not Jenkins, are you?” you said slowly.
“Why? What do you need?” he asked gruffly.
“Uh, nothing.” You slowly backed away from the building and the stunted man, “I can see you’re busy. So, bye.” You waved before you hurried down the street. “Why on earth was a little kid pretending to be an old man?” you talked to yourself. “Unless he really is Jenkins.” You shook your head, “no, that doesn’t make sense, he’s just a kid, who has a strong sense of magic already.” You muttered quietly. “Agh!” you screamed out suddenly, attracting the attention of some innocent passerbys, “why does nothing ever make sense around here!” you then proceeded to storm off to the small house that your portal resided in.
“Oh, you’re home.” Marius said when you closed the door behind you.
“How can a kid have such a strong sense of magic that he can create a disguise out of thin air?” you shoved your face into the water demon’s face as you demanded your question.
“Woah woah woah, I never said I was going to help you! You’re awful! Why would I help you!” Marius replied snarkily as he shrunk back in his bowl.
“Because you’re going to be living with me.” You answered sharply as you turned around and slammed your bag down onto the countertop in the kitchen.
“Oh, is somebody jealous that a child has a stronger sense of magic than you?” Marius teased as he looked excitedly at you.
“He definitely is not stronger than me.” You said vigorously as you placed food into the refrigerator with more force than necessary, “he just doesn’t go to the academy and yet he still can use magic!” you slammed the door shut for the refrigerator.
“Well, maybe he’s got an apprenticeship or something, that’s not too unusual.” Marius shrugged as he leaned back into his bowl. Any source of entertainment that you were providing to him was long gone.
“He probably did!” you yelled out excitedly as you slammed your hands down on the countertop. You then winced and took your hands off of the countertop. “He worked at the shop of ‘The Great Wizard Jenkins’! That explains so much!” you said excitedly. “And here I imagined ‘The Great Wizard Jenkins’ as an old man who disliked children and like loneliness.”
“Sounds like you.” Marius called out from the corner.
“Shall I give you a rock?” you threatened in return.
“How many times do I have to tell you? Rocks are terrible, horrible creatures who just want to see the world crash and burn!” Marius yelled back in a fury as he waved his fists around.
“Of course.” You rolled your eyes and threw your bag down on an empty chair before turning the dial to point at the second color. “I’m going out.”
“Again?” Marius whined, “shouldn’t you be figuring out how to get your soul content?”
“That’s what I’m doing.”
“Doesn’t seem that way.”
“I’m getting inspiration.” You explained, “not like you would know how to make people happy.”
“Of course I don’t! I’m a water demon! I’m only happy with myself! I don’t care about people!” Marius yelled furiously after you.
“Stop yelling, you’ll lose your voice someday.” You called back to him before you opened your door to exit the house. You shut the door behind you when you heard Marius shout angrily at you. Probably something along the lines of ‘you’re awful’.
Outside the small house the Waste blew around you peacefully. The lake where you had first met Marius was easily less than five minutes away by walking. The air blowing around you was crisp and cool. Not at all like what you would think of when you heard ‘waste’. It was clear like the countryside that was miles away from any sort of civilization. The sun was shining brightly, which cast a comfortable blanket of warmth on everything it touched. “Marius, I’m sure you’d love it out here!” you yelled back to the house to spite Marius.
You laughed happily as you ran through the rolling waves of grass and then fell back into it. “Perhaps this is all I wanted for.” You muttered to yourself as the grass around you gently tickled you. “I don’t think I ever had a chance to truly appreciate the Waste.” You set your gaze upwards and saw the small figure of something flying, and it wasn’t a battleship. “What is that?” you sat up in the grass and watched the black figure. Upon closer inspection you noticed that it was a bird...but with a man’s head. “That’s what I want.” You nodded to yourself as the figure flew above your. “I’ll turn into a bird.”
You stood up before you ran back into your little house. “Marius!” you called out.
“Did you get your inspiration?” Marius asked sullenly.
