I'm wondering if the whole Bruce/Natasha romance was real or not. I mean honestly it seems so odd in certain parts of the movie. I mean how do we know she's not trying to get close with Bruce for another reason? I understand it could just be Whedon's complete lack of understanding about women, but still. It's so uncharacteristic of Natasha and there's no point in time where it even showed the development of this romance. My theory? She's getting close with Bruce because of something else. She's doing what she does best, which is being a spy/secret agent.
