Whoever Builds A Masjid...
There are some truly beautiful masaajid in the United States.
Here’s the Diyanet Center of America in Maryland looking sparkling
There’s this crisp & clean masjid in Hilliard, Ohio called Noor Islamic Cultural Center
The Islamic Center of America in Dearborn, Michigan is claimed as the oldest
Atlanta, Georgia’s Al-Farooq Mosque has stunning architecture
And here’s my communities masjid in Lincoln, Nebraska; The Islamic Foundation of Lincoln
It’s a house. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m (as all of my community) extremely appreciative for this masjid. It’s been my home for years. It serves a lot of people. It’s been our stepping stone.
But it’s time for a new masjid. I’m actually so jealous when I see Muslims post pictures of their masjid (mashAllah though). It amazes me when I see these pictures because we could never imagine such an amazing building. However, we’re working on it.
We purchased land in 2014 and we are working to build a new masjid.
We kinda desperately need one
Black mold from leaking issues (Institute of Medicine (IOM) found there was sufficient evidence to link indoor exposure to mold with health risks)
Not enough space for our growing population (especially with the influx of new refugees)
It’s essentially a ticking time bomb
We need help funding a masjid, so we can add ours to the list of gorgeous masjids in the USA (here’s a sketch of our plans). Our community donates as much as we can but with 75% of our population being refugee immigrants, it’s hard (alhumdulillah for everything).
It was narrated from Jabir bin 'Abdullah that:
The Messenger of Allah said:
"Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, like a sparrow's nest for Allah or even smaller, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise." (Sahih Hadith)
