Hazratbal Masjid

This pristine, white marble mosque on the banks of the Dal lake in Srinagar is famous for containing a relic, the Moi-e-Muqaddas, believed by many to be a hair Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The mosque’s name is derived from the Urdu word hazrat.

A Beautiful Hadith

Abū Hurayrah (may Allāh be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger ﷺ said: “A Muslim does not regularly attend the masājid to perform prayer and remember Allāh, except that Allāh is happy with him just as the family of one who is absent feels happy when he comes back to them.” «ما توطن رجل مسلم المساجد للصلاة والذكر إلا تبشبش الله له من حين يخرج من بيته كما يتبشبش أهل الغائب بغائبهم إذا قدم عليهم» (حسن) صحيح الترغيب 301 و325: الطيالسي، حم، هـ، ابن خزيمة، حب.
