You know, I think I need to let you guys in on a bit of an idea that I've had for a while. I know we're all aware about how Sonic could represent the sun, and Shadow represents the moon, but I had something else in mind.

Metal Sonic, he could represent a star. Think about it. In his normal form, his head is shaped like a 3 pointed star.

NEO Metal Sonic evolves from this, gaining two more quills and now having a head shaped like a 5 pointed star.

And then for Metal Madness, Master Overlord, and Metal Overlord, although he doesn't gain any more head quills? One could argue that their face shape results in his head resembling a 6 pointed star.

What else would make me think of Metal being represented with the stars? Well, think about it. If Sonic represents the sun, the sun in itself IS a star. But it's THE star that we're all familiar with that's closest to Earth. No other star could ever replace the sun. Every sun is a star, but not every star is a sun. Doesn't that sound a bit familiar? Almost like Sonic and his many " fakes "?

All I'm saying is that Metal representing a star makes alot of sense when you look into it.

Metal might have one advantage that none of the cookies have

Even if I’m dissapointed how Metal Overlord was handled in IDW they did communicate well just how scary Metal is when he’s let off Eggman’s leash.

Lose super-mode to Shadow? Use data to complete Metal Overlord. Lost to Super Sonic last time so now his power core is the Master Emerald, the one thing that counters the Chaos Emeralds.

Every time Neo Metal is unleashed he learns from his past failings. Though of course, except for the one thing that he truly loses to both in Heroes and in IDW, the power of teamwork.

Which, for ONCE, actually doesn’t feel cheesy. Metal is solely obsessed with Sonic he wants to beat Sonic and be better than him, but he never accounts for the fact Sonic is not alone anymore in saving the world.
