Lyall Lupin was once a man who loved his son so deeply anyone could see it from miles away, his son, Remus, brought out the best in him. He made lyall, someone who didn't like to show emotion very much, look at him with the most adoring eyes and he'd dance with him singing to David bowie. That was until 5-year-old Remus lupin got attacked by a werewolf. Lyall was only worried that his son would die, but when he didn't he looked at him the same. Those once-adoring eyes turned dark and the dances turned into lectures. Because how could his son still be alive? He became frustrated, angry, and overall accusing, little Remus couldn't think of the reason why. Until the next full moon that is. That's where it all started, the nights when Remus was chained to a wall in a dark basement to make sure he wouldn't get out. Those were the loneliest days for him and the most stressful days for his father. He couldn't kill his son, but he still had some, very little but some love for him. So instead he hid him until he had to let him go to Hogwarts, and when that happened he already had a million excuses and stories to get himself out of trouble. But not one to make sure Remus would be safe. So when Remus kept coming back during breaks and holidays he wondered why his son was still here, still smiling. Years later he found out it was because of a group, they were called the marauders and the only reason he found out was because McGonagall had visited remus' grave the same, and only time, Lyall did. To say goodbye, to the son he had once adored.
