Random Mauraders era headcannons

Remus edition

His hair grows weirdly fast

Needs reading glasses but swears he doesn't

Is kind of a picky eater

He will go crazy on some bean salad but wouldn't eat anything in it by itself

He is very prone to paper cuts

He gets them all over his hands and the one time he tried to carry a paper on his mouth while his hands were full, he swore to never do it again

Everyone knows he is full of fun facts but he also just knows what random numbers are dividable by for no reason

He gets the absolute worst bed head

D1 napper and could fall asleep at any moment

Everyone thinks he is so organized but he reorganizes his shit so often that he never remembers where any of it is

James’s skin tone hides his blush pretty well unless you're up really close.

Regulus, the emotionally repressed man that he is, thinks any physical sign of emotion shows weakness so he'd gotten in the habit of putting a charm on his face to hide his blush.

By the end their first date, enough time had passed for the charm to wear off, and their faces just so happened to be VERY close together... long story short they got to see each other blush for the first time 🤭

headcanon of the day:

lily learning how to make elaborate flower crowns and teaching all the girls at hogwarts how to make them too because she remembers how fun it was bonding with her sister while making them. then, a very shy boy, asks if she could teach him how to make flower crowns for his girlfriend, so lily just ends up teaching mostly everyone in her year how to make flower crowns and everyone shares them with their friends and family. every year on lily’s birthday, a flower crown appears next to her headstone. a matching one for her and james.

remus lupin was born in wales, his mother being welsh and his father being french - he grew up in wales and learnt english, welsh and french as he got older

in order if his best to worst language - welsh, english, french

he's not bad at french he just isn't the strongest at it

but omg it gets confusing especially for the other boys

his mam asks him something in welsh and he said something back in english but then his dad asks him something in french and he just responds again in english

AND THE BOYS ARE JUST LIKE WAHT

james's family is indian and he's kinda mixed? half english half indian. he speaks fluent english and hindi quite well lol

sirius is english but there's like french connections deep down in history - he speaks fluent english and doesn't know french at all but because his family is so old fashioned he speaks latin but he semi struggles with it

when james took him in, he also learnt hindi and that was when he really felt part of the family

peter is english and his family is mainly from guernsey

Sirius:

Positive: Independent, carefree, loyal, optimistic, self-assured, 

Negative: impulsive, cares more about the end result of his plans than the people involved, overly dramatic

Remus:

Positive: caring, thinks things out,

Negative: low self-esteem, genuinely believes that those who love him would be better without him, prone to isolating himself

Peter: 

Positive: driven, eager to please, grateful for his friends, genuine. 

Negative: power hungry, disloyal, cowardly.

He is as an e mpathetic crier

Was the shortest of the mauraders in 1st year and is now the 2nd tallest

Left handed and his hand is always covered in ink

Terrible at spelling

Has never not fallen for a Deez nuts joke

Learned how to tie his shoes really late in life

Type of guy to say "stop and squash the bug" when swinging a bat

Was never a picky eater growing up but still has really weird opinions on food

Desserts included, he is so weird about what desserts he will eat

Has definitely broken his arm on a swing set among other ways

Not prone to injury or clumsy, just dumb asf and doesn't remember consequences

Teaches himself stuff by song (if he had to learn the periodic table he would deff know the song by heart)

He always trys to learn different languages that his friends speak but can only remember random phrases

Not even helpful ones like "where's the bathroom" but he can say 'strawberry Jello' in 5 languages

Sirius edition

He is ambidextrous but grew up writing with his right hand so his left hand writing is low-key terrible

The marauders and co always get him band posters as gifts so as soon as he moves in with the Potters he covered his walls in posters

Also since he grew up without being able to physically express himself he is the most maximalist person ever

He will cover his walls with trash just bc he can now

He cuts his hair constantly and does it himself or has Marlene do it (resident hairstyles mentioned)

He tried out different styles and colors but ends up going back to black every time

He is terrible at painting nails so he had Lily do them for a while but eventually had Remus do it

I see a lot of people say he has internalized homophobia and I do agree but I think it was mainly in the early stages of him and Remus' relationship and it turned into "fuck my parents I'm the gayest bitch there is"

I could see him having such a sensitive stomach

He can NOT handle spicy food by any means or struggles with sour
