Today is the day! The new Disney+ series “Baymax!” is now available to be viewed! And boy oh boy, what a series!
If you are a fan of Baymax and Big Hero 6 in general, I highly recommend watching this series. The episodes are short, but sweet!
Now, for my thoughts on each episode. Spoilers under the cut!
1. Cass:
Nice to see Cass again! And it was really fun seeing Baymax try to handle the Lucky Cat Café!
2. Kiko:
Baymax trying to make Kiko overcome her fear of water was very funny! I also the emotional moment when Kiko talked about her husband.
3. Sofia:
This episode shows Sofia dealing with her first period and Baymax having to help her, which was really nice! I also liked seeing that man in the trans flag shirt for a brief moment!
4. Mbita:
I really liked that car chase with Baymax and Mbita. I was also surprised when Mbita asked Yukio out on a date. I love more LGBTQ+ representation!
5. Yachi:
The various music and sounds coming out of the earbud in Yachi was funny and… wait… THIS IS A TWO-PARTER?!
6. Baymax:
Now THIS is how you conclude a series! Everyone coming together to help out Baymax! And I loved the callback to Big Hero 6 at the very end.
Overall, even though none of the other 4 members of the team weren't in it, this was a really good series! I also loved that we got to discover more of San Fransokyo while also visiting familiar places! I definitely need to re-watch it!
Trans guy buying period stuff. It feels so good to have representation of non-female people getting periods!!!!!
The opening talking about periods. Yessss this should not be a topic that people are ashamed to talk about!
Kiko taking medication on screen. This was a very small detail but I almost never see that in a show. It’s nice to see other people taking medication especially since this is a taboo topic to talk about. I love the normalization of have prescriptions.
The little kitty is precious and I want to give them so many hugs!!!
Mbita asking out Yukio! I’m so glad to see a queer couple. Seeing a gay couple in every days life like a farmers market melts my heart!
An all gender bathroom!!!!!! I wish they had these at my school
Plus many many more things but this was at the top of my brain
Now, let's not forget! It's true that Baymax! gave us an unambiguous trans guy, and Mbita actually asked Yukio on a date.
But there's more, from the series!
While Chris was revealed to be a clone, and not completely human to begin with, so I dunno if I should consider him, Wasabi nevertheless behaved like he really was charmed by him, so Wasabi is strongly implied to be gay!
GoGo has a lot of moments where she has a vitrolic relationship with Honey Lemon that often makes way for very adorable moments (come on, that heart sticker became all red after GoGo hugged Honey)!
And how can we forget the turtle doves that are Globby and Felony Carl? There really isn't any heterosexual explanation for what they have going on! Remember: Felony Carl is Globby's whole list! :')
All this to say: a lot of characters in San Fransokyo are LGBT+!
Today’s disabled character of the day is Mbita from Baymax!, who has chronic allergies and angioedema

Did anyone else think Mbita (ep. 4) looks a lot like Bram Greenfeld/Keiynan Lonsdale (from Love, Simon)?
(Thanks, btw, to whomever I’m following on here who posted or reblogged something about the period episode of Baymax; otherwise I probably wouldn’t have noticed this series until much later as happens with most media. ^^’ Although I must say, following people on tumblr and on AO3 has already greatly improved my chances of finding pieces of media before most people have moved on to the next (season)!)
