are we finally ready to talk about how much of a babe grunkle Stan was or has the OG audience of Gravity Falls not aged enough yet
Yesterday Luna had her vet appointment. It went well! Everyone in the office loved her. Yeah, I know they probably love every pet, but it makes me feel good when they love mine! She got her booster shots, goes back in three weeks for a final one, and will be good for a year. I did confirm that I need to get kitten dry food, in addition to the kitten wet food I’ve been giving her. It’s ok that Luna is eating some of the adult food, but it’s not as jam-packed with the calories and nutrients she needs. The problem is that Oscar wants to eat whatever I give her because it is new and different for him. The doctor suggested getting a microchip feeder. Holy crap they’re expensive! But I found a site that was cheaper than Amazon and ordered one. The kitten dry food I ordered yesterday came today, so now we’re just waiting on the feeder so she can graze. In the meantime I’ll give her some periodically throughout the day.
Today I had an appointment with my psychiatrist. He’s really proud of me, says I’m “doing the work”. When I updated him on my trip to Baltimore, the job hunt, getting a job, etc, he was like “you have severe depression, you have severe anxiety, and look at what you’re doing!” (I’m paraphrasing that last part, it was that sentiment, I just don’t remember the wording.) That made me feel good. He thinks I’m doing so well, in fact, that he lowered my Wellbutrin (one of four meds I’m on). I go back in six weeks to see how the med change is going and to see how I’m doing with the big change of starting a job.
After my appointment I went shopping for work shoes and clothes. Tomorrow I’m going to email the store manager to find out my start date. I officially accepted the position on Monday, I’m just waiting to hear from her about my schedule.
I thought I was going crazy but apparently wellbutrin can cause like specific food aversions? Like my appetite isn't dead, but the thought of some foods I used to like make me want to absolutely hurl. Chicken is on it's way out...some days and preparations are ok. I'm not too fond of asparagus anymore. Tofu the other day made me want to hurl. We get free food at work but honestly, all of it makes me want to vomit. It's not bad food by any means but like the chicken pot pie was so hard to choke down. But it was good. But I wanted to vomit.
Idk if it's a texture thing? Maybe squishy and/or fibrous foods? I'm still good on all fruits, which is a relief because mostly I'm leaning on carbs being safe. I'm attempting beans and meat replacements for protein, or I'm just not eating it at all. Ground turkey went over ok.
Anyway just more fun life changes for me 😌
I think its super funny when my doctors try to help me. They are telling me to get off all my meds to resolve an issue, but also told me that none of the meds I am on is causing this issue so I need to talk to a different doc. Make it make sense
I feel like the depressive episode I'm currently in need to be "re scheduled" . My dad has so much going on right now and I don't want to bother him with going to the hospital for a med change(I have bpd and I think mood stabilizers would help me) I guess that's it? Last time I reached out he started crying and that made me feel bad for feeling bad
I can definitely see how this is a difficult situation. :/
It’s genuinely so sweet and thoughtful of you to consider your dad’s feelings so strongly for your mental health, that’s really admirable of you.
I’m not sure what exactly your relationship with your dad is, but despite how hard it is for him, letting him know what your mental state is rather than keeping him entirely in the dark may be a more beneficial option in the long run.
If there’s a way for you to not go into the absolute details of how you’re feeling if you don’t want to, and instead just kinda telling him what you told me, that may be one of the better options until you get your med change.
That way, he knows enough to understand how you’re feeling and what needs to be done, but maybe not enough to at least be as worried as he previously was. He still may feel that way, granted, but maybe understanding just the right amount of a little bit less can make him feel slightly better, at least until your med change.
That being said, I think the most important thing to do that will probably really help long term is to talk to him about this situation. He seems to really care about you, so just taking a little bit of time to tell him how you do feel bad when he cries and how that’s effecting your health.
Definitely please try to be clear that it’s so important for him to show his emotions and tell you how he feels, but you’re going to be negatively effected if he cries or is evidently upset every time you reach out to him.
And no matter what, please go to the hospital for your med change.
I can promise you the issue you have about upsetting your dad is a completely solvable and temporary if you just communicate with him--again, he cares about you and he will understand and find a way to get past this, so please don’t hold back on your mental health.
I’m sure everything will work out for you. :) Feel free to talk to me anytime, you can send me a direct message or send me an ask if you want to stay anonymous.
New Med
I came into my psychiatrists office Monday a bit of a wreck. Filling out the “returning patient” form I realized that I was putting something down for nearly every option. It was time for a med change, and I realized that the moment I set foot in the doctors office.
So long story short I am now on Zyprexa, 20mg. It makes me feel like I drank an entire bottle of Nyquil shortly after I take it, along with ravenous hunger. I was told to expect both of these things by my doctor and pharmacist, but still I was surprised at the pure potency of the medication.
Doc said it’d take a week or two to fully get rid of my positive symptoms, so I’m gonna wait and hope.
I’m having an emergency psychiatrist appointment tomorrow to discuss whether I’m going inpatient or not because I’m really not coping at the moment.
Life update: been feeling great! haven’t been able to relate to those sad memes as much. I’m happy to feel that my medications have been working, I got a med change recently. The meds for BPD (bipolar depression) are working but my meds for psychosis are slowly doing their job. It’s going to take months for those meds to really work into my system as she increases the doses slowly. But that’s okay because at least I don’t get depressed for weeks at a time. I’ve been thinking of success & the finer things in life, and been more motivated to get things done.
