Have you seen the Lucifer episode with Azrael, yet? What did you think of it? For me it was unexpected but also adorable.
IT WAS, YES, UNEXPECTED BUT ADORABLE. To say the least, that is totally not how I pictured Azrael, and given that they had hinted at her being quite scary when they brought in her dagger as a plot object, it seemed a little strange at first. However, I do LOVE that the Angel of Death is this petite, geeky Asian girl (sidenote, my headcanon/fancast for Azrael was always a woman of color, so I’m glad that was the case) who isn’t particularly malicious and just trying to do her job and yet was touched by this one particular human and stuck around and became her invisible friend and protector. It explained a lot of the ongoing mysteries about Ella (why she hears voices/sometimes seems a little psychic) and also allowed for the end scene with Lucifer and Azrael that Hurt Me Deeply.
It also confirmed our general headcanon that Lucifer and Azrael were close (I also like that she’s his little sister, since I’ve always thought of her older) and that Lucifer misses his siblings a lot and that the God family, despite their awesome/divine origins, is still a regular family (I can absolutely see those two little shits pranking the FUCK out of Amenadiel, bless). So yes, she needs to come back, WHEN they save the show. I need it.
