hey everyone, i just want to let you know that you should be really careful of this @megatronismegagone person. I don't want to get into too much detail so I'll just lay out the facts.

This person constantly talks about "city people", a republican dogwhistle. furthermore, i am pretty sure this person lives in the south (US region). i'm sure we all understand that that's pretty sus

if you look at any of this person' socials but especially the main blog, you can see that megatronismegagone has a really combative media presence and spends a lot of time trolling in arguments that this user probably doesn't even care about just because megatronismegagone loves when other people are hurt. Everyone knows what kind of red flag this is.

this person writes really messed up fanfiction. their fic "reduce reuse recycle" (DONT CLICK, LINK JUST AS PROOF, STAY SAFE EVERYONE XX) shows widely beloved Transformers character Whirl EATING A LIVE BABY and this other fic "get (gut)fucked" (DONT CLICK STAY SAFE) is literally a character getting FUCKED TO DEATH by another well-loved Transformers character Overlord. it's obvious what this is getting at, of course, so i'll move on

this person keeps chickens and supports eating animals. obvious why this is a red flag too

TOP SECRET screenshots from DISCORD show that this person's current name in one small screenshot is "then i wango her tango" which is OBVIOUSLY a reference to sex, which is very fucked up.

anyway after reading all these bullet points, i know you understand, but for the people among us struggling to come to the obvious and natural conclusion i just want to make sure it's really explicitly clear. @Megatronismegagone is really clearly a really dangerous person who is out to force literally everyone to buy a CAR with a "MANUAL IGNITION" as part of their disGUSTING Southern agenda. we can't let this happen. stay safe guys xx

vortex for the headcanons :3 @megatronismegagone

Realistic Headcanon: Vortex has a running list of every Decepticon who has ever wronged him and exactly what they did and he knows exactly how he's going to get them back for it; however, unfortunately for him, he has the loyalty coding on, so his actual revenge is generally (to him) much more mild than it should be because he can't actually work with the intention to maim or incapacitate the other Decepticons, and often can't do anything to them at all. This is very frustrating to him and he breaks things about it.

Funny Headcanon: everything about vortex is funny but only if you're evil okay for the record I really don't have any headcanons about Vortex that aren't funny, but I literally don't know what isn't funny to other people. So like. [Broad gesture] i think this is the closest I have to a proper Funny Headcanon? anyways Vortex is THE horniest motherfucker on the planet, no matter what planet he is on, and he is horny about THE most disturbing things. Not just like "killing people" either. You open his computer and there's like scat in one tab and vore in the next. This is only funny because he absolutely cannot get laid with anyone in his faction because he hates every last one of them and also most of them hate him, so he's just sitting here being everyone's wet dream (ie: into all their kinks and worse so he won't be weird about it) and he CAN'T GET ANY. and neither can the other decepticons for the most part.

Crushingly Grim Headcanon: idek if this is headcanon or just plain fanon but the minute he isn't Experiencing Something the feeling and memories of the Detention Center are right there. and if he's not experiencing Enough it isn't enough to put the Detention Center away, sometimes, so he has to keep escalating and escalating, and one day it isn't going to be enough and he's just going to be trapped inside his processor until he dies because the outside world isn't loud enough any more. if he doesn't end up in the actual Detention Center again because his usefulness is eclipsed by his increasingly illegal and desperate antics, of course.

"I Know Him Personally" Headcanon: Vortex absolutely can't stand Drag Strip but also he has a weird tolerating kinship with him because under the hood Drag Strip is one of the only people who actually seems to understand Vortex, even if he's annoying as fuck about it. At the same time though Vortex like... adamantly refuses to screw him because Vortex is a dick and when it's hurting someone else and not him it's funny to keep him just this side of collapsing, and refusing to give him more than a tiny crumb of attention runs him absolutely ragged.

Rereading my early 2020 prowlcoswave fics I’m genuinely surprised at the way I wrote Soundwave’s speech pattern--it’s much closer to actual canon than what I write now. I’d tried to reconcile his always-changing vocabulary and syntax by going ‘okay if he’s being official/professional he speaks this way, if he’s comfortable, he speaks another way, if he’s interpersonally uncomfortable, he speaks yet a different way’, and now I’m constantly writing him as though he’s always interpersonally uncomfortable. which i guess he kind of is! but seeing that still makes me want to rewrite my current dialogue.

soundwave’s telepathy, for the ask meme?

Send me a headcanon and I'll elaborate on that headcanon

My headcanon...

is that Soundwave isn’t actually a telepath. He’s maybe partly a telepath. He says he’s a telepath, everyone else says he’s a telepath, and I write ‘telepath’ in fics, but. I don’t think he’s a telepath. If he is a telepath, it’s a secondary factor compared to his synesthesia/empathic abilities. My reasoning is:

-Going by the traditional definition of a telepath (if you think a thought, a telepath can pick it up), if Soundwave is just a telepath, he should have no trouble reading Shockwave’s mind, as Shockwave quite obviously thinks. He thinks constantly. But Soundwave can’t get anything off of Shockwave, and it’s specifically mentioned it’s because Shockwave’s emotions were cauterized by shadowplay (iirc in the comic it was stated to be because of empurata, but that was before shadowplay/empurata were readily differentiated from each other).

-Unless I’m absolutely making this up and I don’t think I am, Soundwave also has a harder time picking up the individual thoughts of a combiner, most notably the Constructicons. I’m inferring this is because their thoughts and feelings tend to run together; like... 95% of the time the Constructicons are of a like mind and don’t disagree that often, and if they do, it’s one speaking out and the other 4-5 are laughing at them. In canon it’s defined as a ‘unity of purpose’, and was part of the reason it was hard to make combiners that worked long-term.

-In his monologues, Soundwave hardly (if ever) refers to thoughts--it’s usually emotions, or emotions-then-thoughts.

-Soundwave’s ability to pick up electronic transmissions is never really explained or explored beyond him being able to hear + disrupt them when the plot calls for it, but it definitely doesn’t feel like he’s particularly good at it. If he was, wouldn’t he have just spent his whole time eavesdropping on Autobot transmissions and they never would’ve been able to keep secrets from the Decepticons?

So tl;dr I use telepath because that’s the easiest functional equivalent I can find for Soundwave’s outlier ability, because ‘empath with synesthesia and limited telepathic and/or electronic sensitivity’ is really a mouthful.

kinda boring, but it’s good for me personally because i’m (very) faceblind, so it helps me recognize the characters a little easier. 

however the original war for cybertron game character designs were fantastic. soundwave’s design in the game is my favorite of all the many ‘blocky soundwave’ designs.
