Some days more than others, Alexei questioned what the lot he’d been assigned in life allowed him to actually do with his time on the mortal plane.
He could see and communicate with spirits of nearly any type, and he’d gotten reasonably good at negotiating with them, but it wasn’t a service he charged for regularly. Charging fees for exorcisms and home-cleansing services was usually the work of scam artists, especially as they hit four figures. He preferred to charge only for the equivalent of minimum wage instead, but he usually tacked on a small fee if he was injured on a call. He’d made about $100 from being hit with projectile books and cups since he’d started practicing, and an additional $50 for the antlers that now adorned his head.
Instead, he supplemented his income by giving banjo lessons, playing at kids’ bar mitzvahs in his old neighborhood and busking in the street when he got bored. The latter was always a good choice when it came to people-watching. It was proving an especially good choice in certain sectors and districts of this city--some were intriguing and full of faces and conversations unlike any he’d ever seen, while others were outright unsettling.
Sector 004 was proving to be more in line with the former, but he never stuck around after dark. Glancing at people here was always fun, with lots of variation in what he saw at any given time. However, there were always a few that caught his eye.
Such was the case for the younger girl that caught his eye. He wasn’t sure how much of a hurry she was in, but he knew he’d seen her drop the softbound book onto the walkway a few feet ahead of him. He was in the middle of a verse, but he stopped immediately.
“Uh, miss?” He called out to her, getting up to grab the fallen book as quickly as he could. It wouldn’t be any good if it got stepped on anyway. Getting louder so her wouldn’t be drowned out, he said again, “I think you’ve dropped something!”

Athene (Athena) was the Olympian goddess of wisdom and good counsel, war, the defense of towns, heroic endeavor, weaving, pottery and various other crafts. She was depicted as a stately woman armed with a shield and spear, and wearing a long robe, crested helm, and the famed aigis–a snake-trimmed cape adorned with the monstrous visage of the Gorgon Medousa (Medusa).
Honestly did not expect to get an oc for this meme but it proved fun so I’m happy you sent one in! I know its a bit stereotypical but reading through your app and stalking some of your threads I think that Athena is a nice fit if anything. One of the more prominent reasons I chose her, though, is her past with the Mycenaeans who came before the Ancient Greeks. Most scholars agree that when you think of the Mycenaeans, you should think more Roman ideals as they appear to be an incredibly militaristic society. Combining that idea with the Athena we know from Ancient Greece I would say the character traits you listed on your app fit very well!

2. Do they have any daily rituals?
Wake up. Greet her spiders. Have a morning chit-chat with whichever of them wants to talk over her morning tea. That’s the one thing she’s done every day, without fail.
4. What would they do if they needed to make dinner but the kitchen was busy?
If they seem confident in what they’re doing, let them cook. She’s great at baking, but normal cooking meals she’s about average. She might try to insist she help, though, but she won’t kick them out, at the very least.
Who the hell dares keep Muffet’s kitchen busy from her anyway?!
11. Intellectual pursuits?
She’d love to learn all about astronomy, someday. She’s very interested in space and the stars since coming to the city, and it’s the only thing she’s actually had an interest in taking classes about. Unfortunately, her schedule likely wouldn’t allow for it.
17. Preferred mode of dress and rituals surrounding dress
Would you call her everyday outfit a casual outfit? It’s much fancier than a simple jeans and t-shirt combo. But for her, its probably the most casual outfit she owns, save for her pyjamas. There’s no real ritual around choosing her wardrobe. Just whatever fits any special occasion she might be going to.
33. Concept of home and family?
Home is where you feel most comfortable. For her, that’d still be back at home, in the Underground. Her Hive City house is nice, and she doesn’t feel uncomfortable, but she doesn’t feel like she could ever call anywhere in his city ‘home.’ As for family... close friends are her equivalent to family, given that she has none (that she knows personally.) They’re the closest people to her. Excusing, of course, her girlfriend, who is closest of all, and the absolute closest thing she has to family without a doubt, seeing as the two are almost connected at the hip.
35. What activities do they enjoy, but consider to be a waste of time?
As much as she may dislike to admit it, stargazing. She does it often, but she always has that feeling of “I could be doing so much more with my time right now than looking at the sky.” But she does it anyway, because it calms her down, and the stars are so pretty when they shine bright.
45. Superstitions or views on the occult?
Sh’s not a very superstitious person by any means. The only common superstition she follows is the old ‘find a penny, pick it up for good luck’ thing. But that’s moreso because of her love for money. As for the occult, she’s seen such a wide variety of monsters, species, odd humans, etc etc both from the Underground and in Hive City that nothing supernatural or occultish would surprise her. Hell, her best friend from back home is a ghost.

An employee like Isae was hard to come by; both someone she knew she could trust well enough to work for her, and understood the responsibilities that came with it! The latter is not uncommon, the former? More uncommon than you’d think, perhaps.

Heather: Who is someone your character wants to protect?
She has some conflicting feelings on this one. Ideally, she’d protect everyone who couldn’t protect themselves when they deserved protection, but... she also feels that if they were looking for protection, they could do a lot better than her. She was never the most confident in her powers compared to others in the Underground (she hardly had the strongest power there) but it was even worse in this city.
Here, in Hive City, there were superheroes, supervillains, hell, even just “ordinary” people with powers much beyond hers sometimes less than a couple blocks away. What good could she do for someone, compared to them? She might even make things worse.
None of this would stop her from trying to protect someone, if no one else is there... but she considers it not the ideal choice.
Rosemary: What is something your character will always remember?
Back during the second part of the Counterinsurgency event, she had an itsy bitsy (read: major) panic attack when she was with Korra, at possibly the worst time she could have had one. In her memory, it put them both in a lot of danger and her self-described stupidity could have cost them their lives, and that Korra would have been much better off without Muffet there. It’s the total opposite of a fond memory for her. Korra insists that she forgives her, and Muffet does believe that she forgives her, but Muffet does not forgive herself for it, and the memory still chips away at her to this day.
