Okay that last post with papa Shroud in the reverse villain au got me thinking. Cuz like Robert looking at Shroud with hope and betrayal sometimes means that he's not completely okay with this situation. And that makes sense cuz in other universes he's thriving in the same situation but the difference is that he CHOSE to put himself there. HERE he was given no choice to be in this new way of life. And that is always gonna a damper on any level of content that he has living here. And I'm gonna go a little dark here but let's be real, he's more surviving that he is LIVING his life. So at what point will he weigh out whether he wants to truly honestly keep surviving and just stop? And how could Cirus and Chad keep Robert present if he chooses to disassociate or go catatonic from his life with them?
Staying the deep down dark deep down of it, neither Cirus nor Chad would be letting Robert go even in that event. They make his life nice, fairly painless, engaged and entertained. But there is not much they can to keep him from slipping away if he chooses to.
Now granted, I'm keeping this au in the disbelief area of "we don't need to go so deep as to come out fully traumatized and catatonic". Personally, I'm here for Stockholming, seduction, bitten off fingers, and a lot of sexy times

How would Pyrrha react to Rusted Knight Jaune if she lived and went to Ever After? On one hand he did become the hero that she always knew that he would become. On the other hand he clearly suffered while stuck in there.
Pyrrha’s breath catches the moment she sees him—older, worn, armor heavy with years instead of training. “Jaune…?” It comes out softer than she intends. Pride blooms first; he stands like a true knight, like the hero she always believed in. But it’s quickly eclipsed by the hollow in his eyes. She steps closer, careful, as if he might break. “You did it,” she says, voice trembling, then gentler, “but at what cost?” Her hand finds his gauntlet, steady and warm. “You weren’t meant to carry it alone.” A pause. “You don’t have to anymore.”
How do you do that?
“hey, no..”
zephyr frowned, and he brought volts hand up to press a soft kiss to the back of it.
“im not upset or disappointed,” he said softly. he didnt understand why volt was apologizing, but his heart ached at the thought that volt felt the need to apologize for his vulnerability.
“you can talk to me, you know. you dont need to protect me from your struggles. i want to carry them with you, just like you want to carry mine. give and take, right? thats what being partners means.”

Volt closes his eyes and holds Zephyr's hand a bit tighter. He goes to talk several times before he finally says something. "It was Eddie's experience. But I got those memories as if they were my own... Just..."
He really doesn't want to say, but he knows he should. "Eddie used to have... This friend group. They had already had been pushing him around. Always making him the joke... He."
He pauses and takes a deep breath. "He wanted to leave. But they knew he was trans, and he didn't want anyone to know. They used that against him... He got into physical fights with them on several occasions. He couldn't tell anyone, because of the same thing."
He brings Zephyr's hand to his chest. His heart was beating fast, but he didn't seem aware of that. "When the homeowner was moving he knew that friend group would be some of the first to be gone... The homeowner was a doctor, so there were objects that could help him in that regard."
He laughs a bit dryly. "Those objects were the last to leave, so Eddie was able to get top surgery and everything..." He holds Zephyr's hand a bit tighter. "I... Eddie didn't feel it. He was out... I somehow felt all of it. Sometimes I swear I can still feel it."
He lets go of Zephyr's hand and brings his arms around himself. "I don't want to think about it." He falls silent.
