I can’t really claim this as original content as it has been discussed before across the internet. However sadly this one is still a reoccurring comment.

This can’t be attributed to a particular individual as it has been said by many a straight acquaintance.

It’s the strangest comment.

WHAT DOES A LESBIAN LOOK LIKE?

I assume they are referring to the stereotypical butch lesbian often portrayed or sadly mocked by mainstream media. The worst thing about it for me is the fact that this comment is often meant as a compliment. They feel better being friends with a lesbian because I still have long hair. Am I supposed to say thank you for this ‘compliment’?

My non parent family recently discovered I go for long walks every single day and of course they’ve started up the semi-serious jokes that I’m not actually j u s t walking around I’m “meeting someone”. They’ve started referring to these walks as me going on a date and it’s sad and funny at the same time because I really am just going for a walk to think + daydream + de stress but they cannot imagine me being content with just my own thoughts for that long, that often, so they had to explain it to themselves by creating an imaginary boyfriend for me to meet in secret

My parents also went through this process before realising I really am just. Walking. Alone. Every day.
