People forget that the biggest road block to changing anything is when secretly, in their little hearts, they don't want to change.
Looking at you, dominant power groups.

A reminder that butcufemme, no matter how strict, cannot be heteronormative because heterosexuals don't fit eachother well and it's between two females ❤️
Need to make Ginger Snaps memes about CompCis, especially from the sequel where Brigitte got locked up in the rehab centre and was denied access to her hormone blockers or puberty blockers then got forced to become someone she didn't want to be.
The person poised to take over DOGE from Trump’s pet billionaire is the guy who’s actually been running it all along.
Russell Vought appeared today before the House Appropriations Committee, where members scolded him for neglecting to provide a budget for the year, which they need to do their jobs.
Representative Rosa DeLaur0 (D-CT) told Vought: “Be honest, this is never about government efficiency. In fact, an efficient government, a government that capably serves the American people and proves good government is achievable is what you fear the most. You want a government so broken, so dysfunctional, so starved of resources, so full of incompetent political lackeys and bereft of experts and professionals that its departments and agencies cannot feasibly achieve the goals and the missions to which they are lawfully directed. Your goal is privatization, for the biggest companies to have unchecked power, for an economy that does not work for the middle class, for working and vulnerable families. You want the American people to have no one to turn to, but to the billionaires and the corporations this administration has put in charge. Waste, fraud, and abuse are not the targets of this administration. They are your primary objectives.”
The use of the government to impose evangelical beliefs on the country, even at the expense of lives, also appears to be an administration goal, evidenced by Vought's authorship and implementation of Project 2025.
Vought was a key author of Project 2025, whose aim is to disrupt and destroy the United States government order to center a Christian, heteronormative, male-dominated family as the primary element of society. To do so, the plan calls for destroying the administrative state, withdrawing the United States from global affairs, and ending environmental and business regulations. Vought's actions are predicted to lower worldwide economic growth, with biggest reduction (and possible recession) centering in US, Mexico, and Canada. It is deliberate destruction, with The People (the general population and the poor and middle class, especially in the rural areas, paying the biggest price.
So the other day as I was minding my own business as hard as possible I witnessed a neighbor man swearing angrily at a woman as they peered into the engine compartment of her car that he had just apparently jump started for her.
He was going on about “that’s the fucking camshaft” telling her to look closer at it . When she bent down slightly to get a better look see he cursed her “fucking hair” and by tone and implication made sure to say that she was stupid, inept and worthless. That he was entitled to be loudly mad.
Funny thing is that camshafts even of the “fucking” variety are generally located inside the engine block and cannot be seen when the hood is open. I went home and googled it to make sure.
He was a basic kinda garden variety man yelling at his woman thing. A personalized public humiliation backed by his aura of violence. Couldn’t hear her at all throughout the “conversation”- just the muffled hum of the engine at 2500 rpm and his outsized frustration congealed into mansplained lecturing punctuated by verbal violence.
Try as I might to ruminate on how their life must be behind closed doors I couldn’t muster much enthusiasm for that and abandoned that almost immediately.
There was such an ordinariness to it. Like this full throttled outburst vigorously filled with disgust and disrespect belonged outside in our neighborhood during the quiet cold Saturday morning.
That there was a framework built out into some vast unseeable structure where women on the regular were on the receiving end of men’s abuse (ostensibly set off by minor annoyances) that were reformatted into “her fault” and the tirade into his justified response.
That all this anger theater pertained to them and their union.
That his frustrations were their possession.
Spent the afternoon rereading an extensive set of letters sent to man met via internet. Boy did I want to be loved.
The thousands of words I sent in reply to his electronic missives that I deleted over 10 years ago that were written prior to and post us meeting up. I must say the serendipity of it all kept me hopefully believing.
He was traveling to my state for a wedding and I was moving to his country for a semester.
While I now almost jokingly state that my sexuality is heterosexually avoidant (with cause)- at the time I wrote those chattily charming character sketches and well worded stories about my life - I had yet to unpack my heteronormative framework that had me performing the best parts of me in order to get picked.
Well attuned to the “male gaze” fairly fresh off from a devastating divorce, once again I strapped on my best set of feminine wiles -buoyed by hopes and dreams of completing myself through “having a relationship”.
I always thought that it would be so easy, later in life. That wiser and perhaps more motivated by knowledge of self - of what did and didn’t work that the spark of infatuation would flame higher than fleeting limerence.
I believed and thought that uneasy emotion felt as limp frustration - as living in the wrong place filled with unsuitable men- as needing to change me, change place, change circumstances in order to throw off the blanket-like layers of predominately piss poor interactions with men was on me. Like so many others I blamed myself low key for not dispensing the right kind of attractiveness to the right guy in the right amount in order to gain the right to work hard on a relationship.
Wasn’t until relatively recently I learned to cherish the peace that comes from being left out.
So gender sterotypically… fucking cute. 😻
