DUMAGUETE, NEGROS ORIENTAL -- Filipino-Chinese restaurant known as Chowking opens its first drive-thru on any vehicles in the north city of National Highway, Brgy. Daro, Dumaguete, Negros Oriental. Fresh n' Famous Foods (FNFF), who is a subsidiary of Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) fully inaugurate the said store franchise to serve Dumagueteños and Negrosanons to enjoy your favorites of Chinese and Pinoy food. Customers are in full house to serve the food in the morning hours.

Taiwanese milk tea brand 'Milksha' integrates with Chowking in 2021, which is now available for the first time in Dumaguete. Per Manila Bulletin's report that the JFC acquires the said milk tea shop for Chowking, they are using natural and fresh ingredients, without any preservatives or chemical additives. The milk tea company prides itself in using fresh, high quality milk as a base for its beverages in Taiwan. Milksha expands to 250 outlets worldwide including our country's nation, the Philippines. Chowking was started in late mid-March 1985, a year before the People Power Revolution and the aftermath between the Escalante Massacre in Negros Occidental & Martial Law in the mid-80's line.

We spoke with one of the Female cashiers in a pre-recorded interview of OneNETnews, the Chowking Drive-Thru store in Dumaguete starts at 7am (January 30th, 2023 -- Dumaguete local time). She tells us on our news team, the said store opens 24 hours a day since the Coronavirus Disease-19 (CoViD-19) Pandemic was partially and unofficially lifted in Negros Oriental. The main regional store of Chowking at Perdices Street fronting Jollibee lacks of space without a drive-thru. FNFF implements their ideas and finishes the construction deal before the actual opening. Expect good food and service when ordering from a menu, along with their innovative payment options in the long run.

This special three-day event was attended by celebrities, influencers, vloggers, and walk-in guests who got to see why this international milk tea franchise is so popular. The first two days were reserved for invited guests, including The Hungry Kat, while the third day was for the general public who got to join the fun activities.

Milksha entered the Philippines in November 2021 thanks to Chowking, where Milksha is currently available at select branches. It introduced four signature handcrafted drinks: Honey Pearl Black Tea Latte, Valrhona Cocoa Milk, Signature Taro Milk, and Wintermelon Lemon.

The pop-up event was hosted by Janina Vera and started with an introduction of Milksha—when it originated and how it gained its reputation as the top milk tea brand in Taiwan. Actress, host, model, and TV personality Kim Chiu was the special guest celebrity for the first day of the Milksha pop-up event. She was accompanied by longtime boyfriend Xian Lim who also took part in the activities. Other local celebrities and influential personalities such as Khalil Ramos, Gabbi Garcia, and Miss Universe Queens Celeste Cortesi and Michelle Dee also graced the event on the succeeding days.

Chowking Brand Director Ariane Valinton also shared the many reasons why Milksha is highly acclaimed in Taiwan. For one, it uses fresh milk from its own farm and natural ingredients from different parts of the country. It also imports premium ingredients like matcha and cocoa from other countries to create the most flavorful milk tea drinks you can’t find anywhere else.
