Seeing Humphrey in the mini trailer gives me so much life. He’s included! It makes me so happy that the other ghosts are laughing with him, and he’s not chuckling at himself to brush off the fact he’s being used as a prop in one of their games.

So in that mini trailer they actually cut two scenes together from completely different parts of the movie (see Eggsy’s clothes) and even flipped one of the scenes (see Harry’s eyepatch) so that Harry and Eggsy could stare at each other and GET READY FOR IT and I think that’s beautiful

The first fern in the episode proper appears just a little while after that, at 0:44.
Columbo S4E5 “Playback” (1975)
Boston fern spotted! After the disappointment of the last two episodes, this episode makes up for it by showing a Boston fern in the very first frame.
If you're a purist who believes the mini-trailer doesn't count, here's another Boston fern lurking in the shadows at 2:42.
And then, seconds later, three of them. The ferns continue throughout the episode. I love Columbos set in rich people's houses -- ferns everywhere!

Ferntastic! This is the earliest fern spotting yet, at 0:22. That's right, this Boston fern appeared during the weird mini-trailer at the beginning of the episode for just a couple of frames (hence the video controls over the screenshot).
If you don't think that counts, don't worry. The first proper fern sighting is less than two minutes into the episode.
