Hi, I know very little about historic fashion trends; what style is Rainbow Dash dressed in in your art, and what kind of specific clothes is she wearing? I write captions and I want to caption her style accurately, and I know her outfit is in a particular style, I just don't have the vocabulary to say which. Thanks much!

Rainbow Dash's outfit is sort of a mishmash of things (I felt it was appropriate). She's wearing a striped scarf tie, the type sported by Amelia Earhart as to look like her mane and imply a love for adventure and flying. Over an A-shirt (essentially a "wife-beater"), she's got an unbuttoned vest with stitched diamond patterning (used the below image as reference).

It wasn't my intention when designing (I chose the pattern to give her that rainbow effect), but these vest designs are Sioux, unintentionally coding my Rainbow Dash as indigenous Mexican/First Nations (not too knowledgable on this, if anyone knows more than me, please inform).

The pants are regular trousers with stripes down its length to give the impression of a rainbow trail whenever she runs, taken from this dress.

And of course, she's wearing 1922 Chuck Taylor converse shoes, the first running sneakers manufactured.

A surprising amount of thought and research gets put into the costumes! I'm also working with my partner, who's a costume designer.

orange but like, the soft kind of orange one would see on stuffed animals that's less like tangerine and more orange cream.

laughter that's coming in from somewhere else, clear despite its distance that makes you laugh too bcus things can be good, it turns out! and that little burst of "oh!" when you finally earn the trust of a small, very soft creature and get to pet them for the first time and you can just. feel that this little dude is alive and well

I dress femme, as a DFAB genderfluid person, and my brain just kinda goes "oh, nice crossdressing!" And I have to wonder why I couldn't be informed of my gender Before I put on the blouse. I can't be the only one that's done this, lol

Bahaha that's a whole mood honestly.

What are you up to when you aren't drawing aliens and inspiring folks (including me) with your spec bio?

Lately I have been mostly bookbinding, baking, working part-time as a landscaper, volunteering at a California native plant nursery, and job searching. I also watch a lot of youtube videos about video games and cooking, lol. Sometimes I even play video games! But not much lately because I’ve been having wrist pains from sustained mouse use. I think I may have given myself an repetitive strain injury from playing too much Minecraft, no I am not joking, for a while there I was playing for 6+ hours every day with almost no breaks, I’M VERY BAD AT MODERATION
