#ThrowbackThursday 2016 New York Mets ✖ New Era 59Fifty AC OF "1986 Mets" Fitted Cap. I Am not your typical Yankee fan that hates the Mets, in fact I also root for them except against the Yanks, the way I see it is it's New York so if both teams are doing better then it's better for the city and I love NYC, I love it the first time i set foot and everytime I visit and when I was living in Jersey City and working in Manhattan for years the city never stopped to amaze me, I live in Vegas now, I lived in Los Angeles (Hollywood) and Philly but nothing like the Big Apple. Anyways 2016 the team honored the 30th Anniversary of the "One Season Dynasty" the 1986 Amazin' Mets and wore the uniforms of the 1986 team including this cap, It went on sale at lids last year and I bought the cap like 3 times and everytime they sent me the wrong cap haha, they kept sending me the current OF which has the orange button, finally I gave up because I dont know what I will do with 3 and still none of the 2016 special event onfield, and finally I found the correct one on Mercari 😁. FYI 1962-2006 the Mets have an all blue cap and the orange button didn't appear until 2007. 1986 Mets used caps with green underbrim but switched to grey underbrims. I still remember 1986 like it was yesterday, My mother works for Merryl Lynch at the world trade center while me and my sisters are living with our grandparents in Bataan, my mom sent me Mets t-shirts back in 1986 and that is when I got introduced to the other New York Team 😁 back then I never understood why 2 teams in one city and sometimes I get confuse when I check the newspapers for the standings i didnt know which NY is which, I'm a yankee fan since but 1986 the buzz in NYC was the mets, even when my mom calls us she will talk about the mets and ofcourse she has not idea about sports but it's the talk of the town, when I came to NYC 3 years later I used to watch both teams on TV and stay up late to watch when they go on the westcoast trip, the yanks on WPIX channel 11 and the mets i believe was at WWOR channel 9, my 1st game at Yankee stadium was in 1990 and my 1st met game at Shea was not until 1997. #CapCollection #MLBCap #Mets
