MLP FIM - Rating Every Runway Look from Suited for Success 🧵

I felt like rewatching a couple of episodes of My Little Pony FIM, and decided to make this! For those unaware, these outfits show-up in the episode Suited for Success (Season 1, Episode 14) thus making its debut alongside the Mane Six's Grand Galloping Gala Outfits 🎀

Admittedly these specific outfits are meant to look horrible in contrast to the other geninuely better set, but I decided to write actual reviews as if I was a fashion designer who's asked to judge them 🫧

Yes, I'll be referring these outfits as the Runway Looks as they're only shown during the first runway scene in the same episode, and to differ them from the Grand Galloping Gala Outfits 🪴

Improvements for these specific outfits will also be written, as if someone else wanted to rework on the mess Rarity was unfortunate enough to make for her friends.

TL;DR Rarity unfortunately got screwed over by the rest of her friends. So I'll be judging on how their picky choices lead up to this, and how the same outfit could improve if the same concept was used.

Twilight Sparkle's Constellation Outfit - 2/10

Dress looks like a blanket that's poorly stitched together

Constellations are entirely unnecessary on the dress, too many of them as well

Too many star accessories (Headband, Earrings, Bowtie, Tail Bow)

Headband is too flimsy, could break easily

Dark Purple Dress clashes with Cyan and Yellow Accessories

How to Improve

Make the dress a cape instead, remove the constellations and replace them with a few stars

Change the dress-now-cape's color to a darker shade of cyan to match the accessories

Remove the Star-Shaped Headband & Earrings

Limit the Outfit's Color Palette with the Following: Cyan (Main) & Yellow (Secondary)

Applejack's Country Picnic Outfit - 4/10

Oversized Rainboots, the only part that's yellow which clashes with everything else

Cowgirl Hat doesn't work well with the rest of the outfit, looks too formal

Red-Green Patches Clash with the Blue-Orange Plaided Skirt

Red Belt Clashes with Blue Frills & Overalls

Unnecessary need to include yellow and green in the first place

How to Improve

Replace the Oversized Rainboots with actual Cowgirl Boots

Make the Cowgirl Hat more traditional in order to match the rest of the outfit

Limit the Outfit's Color Palette with the Following: Blue (Main) & Orange (Secondary)

Fluttershy's Springtime Outfit - 3/10

Overabundance on the flower motif (Flower Patterns, Flower Accessories, Possibly Real Flowers)

Yellow-Orange Flower Collar Clashes with the dress

Unnecessary addition of a literal bird nest

Bush-like shoes that look very uncomfortable to wear

Light Pink Flowers that don't work well with an equally Light Green Dress

How to Improve

Remove the Bird Nest & Additional Flower Accessories

Remove or Simplify the Giant Flower Neck Accessory, Replace it with a Frilly Shirt

Make the flowers on the dress Hot Pink or Dark Green so it doesn't clash with the Light Green

Change the Bush-like Shoes, replace them with simple ballet shoes or mary janes

Limit the Outfit's Color Palette with the Following: Green (Main) & Pink (Secondary)

Rainbow Dash's Gladiator of Rainbows Outfit - 5/10

Too much of the same shade of gold

Too much of the same shade of bright red

Had the potential, ruined by the overload of colors (aka; Too much rainbow)

How to Improve

Give the rainbow pattern to only one part of the outfit

Change the bright red accents into a neutral color (Black, White, Grey, or Brown)

Limit the usage of the color gold

Remove the Stormy Cloud Emblem on the cape, it doesn't work with the rest of the outfit

Pinkie Pie's Cupcake Party Outfit - 2/10

Giant Cupcake Accessory that can easily fall off

Weirdly placed yellow ribbons (I will ignore Pinkie Pie Logic)

Unnecessary addition of balloons for the outfit

Light Yellow Ribbon & Bright Gold Ribbon clash with each other

Seafoam Green Frilly Top that clashes with the rest of the outfit

How to Improve

Make the Giant Cupcake Accessory a simple Sprinkle-themed Headband

Make the Ribbons one shade of yellow

Make the smaller ribbons on the wrists something a person can actually wear

Change the frilly top from Seafoam Green to Light Blue

Remove all of the Balloons

A simple book, but simple isn’t bad.

This is from the "I can Read!" Series of Books. A Beginner friendly book that, as the back of the cover describes, short sentences, familiar words, and simple concepts for children eager to read on their own. So let's see if this book would earn that last part.

We have the Five Main Characters of G5 being referred to as the Mane 5. And this book is basically a recap of everything we know about Misty. From how she became friends with them, secretly working for Opaline, why she did what she had to do. Another thing to note, this one uses screen shots from Tell Your Tale, with one sentence summaries of specific episodes that feature Misty trying to get Sparky. 

You wanna know what makes Opaline truly a villain who can not be redeemed? Misty brought her a smoothie to make her happy, and Opaline never even said thank you. The book also says that Opaline was the one to kidnap Sparky, not Misty. And between that event and Missing the Mark is a Tell Your Tale episode we'll be visiting in the future. Sunny defeats Opaline, is proud of Misty for choosing Friendship, and now Misty gets her Cutie Mark.

They associated the mane color change to getting a new cutie mark, but we'll be seeing that's a decision Pipp made. And another recap of a Tell Your Tale episode, one that's a little bit longer because honestly, it is a very important episode. With Misty finally becoming part of the group, the six of them are now referred to as the Mane Six. It's a really simple read but honestly a great recap of Misty’s journey. From working with Opaline to becoming a core member of the group. She’s the Sixth Ranger Syndrome done the best. And I am looking forward to reading more about G5’s world when I’m done with the other G4 material.

Now that the MLP Make Your Mark series is finally out... I have to say I really enjoyed the first 8 episodes!!!

My expectations were really low after the ch1 special. It was really disappointing and I didn't know if any of the criticisms expressed by the fans would be taken into consideration. However, it really seems like we were listened to. Which is nice.

I like all the characters again. They feel natural and fun, and they interact well together. Still trying to find a favorite ( it might be Misty!!!). The story isn't the best, but just seeing characters interact and have fun side stories is enough for me. For now.

Sunny was a little bland at first but there's an episode that really makes me feel for her. Also she has great chemistry with all the other characters. Especially Hitch and Izzy. I'm excited to see where her story will go.

Zipp and Pipps episode together might have been my favorite. I loved the song they sang together it was really cute!!! Also the sister dynamic is awesome. I like how different they are. I also really like their mother the queen she's funny.

When the movie premiered I loved Izzy she was amazing, but in the special she lost a lot of what made her great in the beginning but she's back and better than ever.

Hitch is nice. I like the dynamic he brings between characters. On his own he's not as interesting as he was in the movie, but he still has his moments. I hope we can get more on him and add more to his character besides having a dragon.

Obake: So watched the new MLP movie

THIS REVIEW WILL NOT CONTAIN SPOILERS

Honestly I have to say the opening was great. A little disappointed we didn't get much information about what happened exactly after the mane 6, but I'm hoping the series will touch up on that.

The movie found a way of being fairly interesting throughout, one character was a bit iffy but conflict right? Let's just say one character has questionable motives that were obviously fed to him by mistake.

I'm not sure how to fully review the movie without spoilers so I'll talk about instead how I felt overall about this movie.

It was overall very decent, very sweet and such. More of a one-time watch movie but that's my personal opinion. In no way do I feel the movie was bad, but it was perhaps predictable towards the end.

It was extremely satisfying seeing certain aspects, particularly those related to gen 4. Do I consider this a spoiler? No.

I don't consider it a spoiler because we see in the trailer how Sunny already has items relating to the mane 6 of past. It's a nice touch that brings nostalgia and a feeling of familiarity.

I will admit the story definitely isn't exactly what I expected and that makes it more interesting.

We've seen in the trailer that they have a quest to go after some crystals. I thought it interesting in all honesty but sort of a missed opportunity. In the past, the "crystals" we saw were the elements of harmony. But not here. Again, not a spoiler, it would have talked about that in the trailer.

But it leaves me begging for answers to several questions. In Gen 4 we see that the Pillars of Equestria left the Elements of Harmony for a future generation [that being the mane 6.] Does this mean the mane 6 left the crystals behind by chance?

I understand the movie is also solely focused on the ponies. But at the end of season 9 of gen 4 we see creatures of all kinds getting along. Will we see them in the series later on? Whatever happened that they left? Why were there no wendigos? Was it because -oh I can't ask that aloud, spoilers- or was it because all the magic was gone?

So many questions still remain unanswered, but never let it be said that I'm not excited for more!

MLP SPOILERS HOLD NO POWER OVER ME ANYMORE!

Gave into temptation and watched the English leaks of the last of the finale season.

No regrets. And I shall keep from spoiling to my best ability.

Just a lil tiny review on how I feel about this ending

Just wanna say, I loved every bit of it. Was it perfect? Pfffhh, Heavens NO. Hah! But it was delightful and satisfying none the less. So much action and the plot twists, gosh I love when the writing staff goes full fanfic mode with stuff usually not allowed on the show. Obviously they took full advantage that there are no longer consequences from fearing angry parents. Not liking what you see, what you gonna do about it? Demand the show cancelled? HAH!

They did their best and clearly had fun. A bit heavy on making all those outside references into the lines, but it’s fine. Some solutions not what I would have preferred, but still plenty enough of callbacks and surprises to keep me plenty satisfied.

The epilogue episode was (almost) perfect, I love that kind of “where are they now” stuff, and how casual they kept it. Glad they made that its own episode to not clog down the season finale too much, was heavy enough on its own.

And the ships? I’ll say... I’m not the biggest shippers, but I’m happy with what I saw and how casual all that was kept too. Also VERY satisfied with my OTP confirmed and everything, no complaints there.

Again, nothing is perfect and I’m sure more fans out there have ideas on how some things could have been handled better, how some characters and issues were resolved could have been treated a more satisfying way. But for the official episodes? I’m satisfied enough.

I cried a tiny bit at the end of the epilogue.

MLP G4 has meant a lot to me over the years. Taught so much, but most of all inspired so much. And the friendships built based on this interest shared with others, I can be nothing but thankful for.

I look forward to what G5 got in store. And if G5 flops? Who cares? We still got SO MUCH from G4 to keep play around with and build upon, they gave us so much to still enjoy and interpreter for years to come. A fandom doesn’t die just because the original source ended providing new material. That would be silly.

The only thing to stop people from producing their own content is the limit to their own imagination, motivation and inspiration. Heck, look at FoE that turned into its own sub genre - one fanfic creating endless ideas still going strong. Invader Zim never died despite a decade of being cancelled halfway through a second season. Now we got an ongoing comic, a new movie and promise of revived new merch, because IZ fans are still around.

You want to move on now G4 is over? Go ahead. That’s fine too. This is about what we personally find enjoyment in, none of this should be treated as a chore or a permanent lifestyle. All this is our escape from reality and to build bonds over common interests. Nothing lasts forever. Nor does it truly die.

Now, remember to respect the spoiler bans still in action. The official end isn’t until October, and plenty of people still choose to keep to the official American schedule. We must all respect that.

A heck of a great ride, now Imma just look forward to when everyone’s up to date, and everyone can openly share the amazing things this finale inspired to create.

Twilight’s/Sparkle’s Seven Review

This is going to be really short...I have no cons. This episode was fantastic. 10/10. I loved everything about the episode to give a list of pro’s. Facial expressions were the highlight of the episode. The twist I honestly didn’t see coming and it was hilarious and sweet. BABY SPIKE FTW! Also the above image. Also meme references. There’s only two things though:

1. Despite them finally canonizing Spike as Twilight and Shining’ brother, I honestly still see Twilight as a mother figure more to Spike than brother and sister but I’m happy they actually brought that up in the episode.

2. There should’ve been a plot plot twist with Cadence just because she wasn’t in the episode and I would’ve lost it...in a good way.
