There is a kind of relevant detail that a lot of hayffie-haters seem to forget about:

Hayffie is canon.

Sure, it’s only movie-canon but it’s still canon, it’s still been kept in the movie, the movie where the AUTHOR had a say in. I get it when sb says that they like the books more but you can’t just ignore the films. Sure, it’s also just a kiss and we don’t see them be together, but it’s still a kiss.

I feel like we don’t bring that into the discussion often enough.

Snow and Gale

We need to talk about how much Snow and GALE mirror one another, and are two sides of the same coin just cast into different ponds. Gale doesn’t have a compassion for anyone outside of his direct line of sight (i.e. the way he so quickly casts off the other CHILDREN being thrown into the games with Katniss, taking their humanity and minimizing it to an animalistic nature, while KATNISS the one actually in the games reminds him that they are people.) I see similarities in the way snow and gale treat people in power over them - hating what they have but being so fast to take advantage the kindness they show for their own gain (Madge and Sejanus) Both Snow and Gale could only focus on the RELATIONSHIPS of the girls they knew going into the games, feeling angry and possessive as they are fighting for their lives through whatever means necessary (LG with her song about Billy Taupe, and Katniss with Peeta in the arena) I firmly believe that if given the chance, Gale would sit next to snow, cheering at the table as a man is poisoned and feasting regardless.

Let’s also dive into the fact that Katniss and Tigris hold so many similarities - both raised in the same condition as Gale and Snow, but responding in love and kindness. Katniss holds a horror at the death she sees, and Tigris is quick to remind Snow that Lucy Gray and the tributes are PEOPLE. Gale isn’t sorry he killed the children, hes only sorry he lost Katniss as a result - the same way snow isnt sorry he killed sejanus but sorry he lost Lucy Gray in turn. Katniss offering Rue food in the arena, remembering the boy who gave her bread when she had nothing, Tigris making bread pudding for Lucy Gray even when she knew they didn’t have food. Both taking on the maternal role at the age of 11. Both used tesserae to give their siblings a chance in the world (tigris with the busttons, Katniss taking the rations).

And to bring it all to a head - Snow riding on a gust of wind, or a gale, will always impact the direction of an arrow.

i don't know if there are any Hayffie shippers around here with Spanish as first language or that speak Spanish, but straight to the point, there was a song that became popular a few years ago, it was called "Saturno" and it became popular among star crossed, not endgame and/or not canon ships, because the lyrics talk about a somehow failed love, so is very relatable to almost any failed love, BUT, the lyrics made so much sense when it comes to Hayffie, like it's almost scary, i'll leave the translation so I don't cry alone looking at pictures of Haymitch and Effie while I hear this song

Annie Cresta and Genya Safin are each other in a different font down to the physical and mental pain that they both endured. They both lost the man that they each loved to the one thing they knew: water and beauty. Genya lost David on her wedding day; the day most girls dream of. It was something that, despite being ruined, Genya had looked forward to. Literally dressed in gold, Genya was on her knees looking for the man she called her lover. Her looks were destroyed for her - scarred and irreplaceable was her face - but David never seemed to care. She knew beauty just like she knew David. Annie Cresta grew up in District four where water was sole reason she survived. She was a career yet she was so tramamized at the mere idea of being back in the arena. She knew water - she survived via water - yet why does it feel like Annie Cresta died in the waves she swam. She was seen as a mad woman - crazy enough to seem sane only for seconds (similar to how Genya was seen as ugly it was beautiful (ie: David's book of compliments)Her man may have survived her wedding day but not for long. Both couples reunite just for a second of peace. Just like how David survived the war of the Darkling, and Finnick survived being Capital bred - they lived long enough to feel their happy ever after. (It is something war represents: that even 'good' people die.) - that even though they died, their love lives on - their ideas lives on. Annie with her baby (which in my head is named Finn or Nick (Nicky as a nickname to Peeta). Genya with her assassation of the war that killed David.

Today is the the day that I finished The Hunger Games and Fullmetal Alchemist : Brotherhood in the same day, both of which where huge trips and i just felt like I needed people to know that.
