⛧Goth Wyll Mods⛧

Figured I would list the mods I used for Goth Wyll! If you want your own gorgeous goth Blade of Frontiers, here's a few options!

First and foremost: Appearance Edit Enhanced

This mod allows you to edit Origin characters. Fair Warning that when I go to the character select screen, all of their colouring (skin, hair and eyes) is fucked (like really, warning: it makes Wyll pale orange), so you have to manually change things back.

If you want to give Wyll his default colouring, this is what it is: Skin tone: Neutral Tone 9 (I mistakenly gave him warm tone 11 in the pic) Eye colour: Brown 1 (doesn't effect the sending stone) Hair colour: Black neutral 1 with taupe highlights (100) and ginger 3 greying (100) which I honestly never would have guessed

From there, we have :

⛧ longer braids/ornate hair: more dreadlocs and curly hairstyles or the standalone alternate hairstyle for wyll

⛧ long hair: EoW - Romantic Long Hair for Wyll

⛧ piercings (mashups of vanilla): piercing edits

⛧ piercings (facial piercings such as lip rings/septums): trip's accessory collection

⛧ black nails: black nails for males

⛧ clothes: the legendary "basket of equipment mod" comes in two flavours - sfw or nsfw ⛧ plus there are hundreds of dye bundles on the nexus if you want some more interesting outfit colours (including a darker shade of black!) though you might require tutorial chest summoning to access dyes or other equipment if you've already left the nautiloid but haven't reached the grove.

⛧ and there's also a transmasc wyll mod for all the transmasc wyll truthers!

How do you mod Baldur's Gate 3?

You can start with Baldur's Gate Mod Manager, and there's a guide for how to use it here. Keep in mind that you can't mod console games, and some mods can break your game and/or your saves, so be sure to back up your files before you start dabbling, especially if you're a beginner!

Also: being able to mod origin characters means you can freely change up any of the others, not just the best one Wyll. I personally like to keep them mostly vanilla, but a little eyeliner or piercings never hurt anyone (especially characters like Lae'zel and Karlach, who seem like they absolutely should have a piercing or 17...)

Actually for people who are curious about modded minecraft but never tried it out because "my computer can barely play normal minecraft"

Hello!! I have mods for you!!!

Sodium's mod suite runs significantly better than vanilla minecraft. You can also use sodium and various other client side mods on vanilla servers! Meaning you can get better performance and still play with your friends!

Okay, that sounds great? But aren't mods really hard to use?

Nope! Not when you use a mod launcher!

Personally, I recommend Prism, it's very easy to set up and will help you not only manage several different instances (so you can easily swap between mods), but it will also help you keep mods up to date!

Once you have prism, if all you want is some sweet mod optimization, then there's a premade modpack right here that has everything with no bells and whistles:

Once you've picked your pack, then you can start looking into other mod options! Smaller mods that just add a few mods or items are usually fairly easy to run, while mods that add a lot of new or complex features may be more difficult. Here's a quick summary of some terms you might encounter when looking at mods:

Fabric/Quilt and Forge - These are all the base api that the mod in question uses. You can think of them like different coding languages modders can build in. Forge is a totally different base api, so Forge is not compatible with fabric/quilt. Many modders will have options for Forge/fabric versions, just make sure to download the right one.

Client Side mod - this is a mod that only effects the client (that means you!), so you can have it installed and running in multiplayer, even if the server doesn't have the same mod. These are usually performance or UI related mods.

Server Side Mod - these mods only need to be installed on a server/host and do not need to be installed on the client. Also often performance mods.

Plugins - These aren't mods! They are server side features that work with bukkit/paper servers using vanilla features. It can allow for some cool stuff to be done without requiring people to install mods on their client.

Now go forth and install mods to make your life easier!

Ive spent an 8th of my lifetime dedicated to modding doom, from the corona virus on my school pc to now. i hope this list helps you with doom modding, since i have yet to find any vids that give any way to achieve these effects. if you have any trouble with these, shoot me a dm, i am chronically online.

Tutorial : How to add creature to already existing areas.

This tutorial assumes you know how to make a module and make a module that extends single player module, If not then read this: Module Tutorial

also make sure the resources you use module is core game resources and the owner module is the one you created.

You will need to make a PRCSCR Script, Which loads up as soon as you enter a area. So if you add a npc or something it will have them load up. 

copy and paste the below code into a script inside the toolset (make sure you made a new module that expands the single player campaign)

So what this piece of code does is finds the area and adds the creature to the area by the coordinates you set up. you can find the coordinates by opening the area you want (vector is the coordinates). It set in four areas, First 2 is X and Y, last (outside first set of brackets) is rotation. Which u can find in object :

here are some examples of how to find the coordinates. One way is mouse position, but it doesn't do rotation: 

another is open it as local or check out the area (BUT DO NOT EVER SAVE IT). Place a creature where u would like yours, i just chose randomly and turned him around so the orientation would change(which is rotation) and it gives you coordinates: 

here is what you can change in the script: oBlacksmith to whatever you desire preferable name of your creature like i chose oBlacksmith.

vBlacksmithLocation  to whatever you desire preferable name of your creature like i chose vBlacksmithLocation.

make sure ` CreateObject(OBJECT_TYPE_CREATURE, R"arl120cr_blacksmith .utc", vBlacksmithLocation);` is all on one line, Copy and paste might mess it up and put it on another line due to the tumblr’s layout. 

tag of the area must be changed to the resource name of the area u want to move to, so the one i am using is lothering so it would be :   “lot100ar_lothering”. (include the quotation marks)

Now change the creature tag in the script to the exact tag you using for your creature, the creature in the screen shot is : “arl120cr_blacksmith” and the creature name to your own  "arl120cr_blacksmith .utc"

next step is adding the GDA so the game knows to use the script. 

the ID can be anything you want, just make sure number is High but i think there is a limit to how high it can be, the AreaList needs to be what the area list is in: 

some area’s do not have an area list, so choose carefully where u choosing to put a new NPC. for this tutorial’s purpose i added a arealist(which is not wise to do as the game could break.)

now save the GDA to your folder this is mine: Documents\AddIns\modulename\module\override

make sure the extension is GDA. then export the creature, and the script. Delete the toolexport folder in override (make sure your creature and script is in your folder). 

Now it should show your creature on the map, assuming you followed all these steps, if not give me a PM and I will try and help as much as I can.

Updated texture guide: Normals

I finally got off my bum to update my texture guide on the subject of normals in DA:I. As previous info was based on work with Eham’s modding tool that both previewed 2channel normals and didn’t yet support anything beyond DXT1/5 it was quite outdated. Find the complete guide here.

DA:I normals are in ATI2 (3Dc) format, it has two channels (X/Y instead of R/G/B). The Photoshop DDS plugin decompresses the X/Y blocks and stores them in the R/G channels (the wrong way around mind you). When the opened texture is flagged as a normal, R/G/B is reconstructed from the R/G channels. Unfortunately, this makes the normalmap look 'wrong' upon import into Photoshop.

Now I used to eyeball the changes necessary to convert the opened normal back to what it should be by manually switching the red and green channel and messing with the contrast for those channels. However, I've recently stumbled across this workflow by MediAsylum on DeviantArt which makes the process entirely foolproof. Go thank them for being awesome. Here's a step by step:

Open your extracted normalmap in Photoshop.

In the NVidia DDS Read Properties window select "Convert images to 32bits"

Upon opening, go to "Image - Mode - 16 bits/Channel".

Select "Exposure and Gamma" from the dropdown and hit "OK".

Go to "Image - Adjustments - Levels..." and change the center value from 1.00 to 0.45

Go to "Image - Adjustments -  Channel Mixer" and switch the red and green channel info (select red in the dropdown, change red 100% to 0 and green 0% to 100, then do the opposite for the green channel).

Et voila. You can now edit your normals as you're used to. When you're happy with your changes, save it as a 3Dc through the DDS plugin.

For reference, below you'll see a normal as previewed in the tool, after export/opening in Photoshop, before flipping the channel info and after applying ALL changes as mentioned above. Note that an extracted normal opened in the Compressonator also has switched R/G channels (3rd image).

NB: If you previously got rid of the NVidia DDS Read Properties dialog popup (like I did), you can get it back by saving a random image as a DDS and pressing "Read Config..." in the save dialog window. This'll pop it back up and you can recheck the box to re-enable the dialog.
