Japanese Mythology & Deities
Major Gods in the Chronicles (24)
Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto ~ God of the moon, the ruler of the night & reading the moon calendar
In the Chronicles, Tsukuyomi is said to be born out of the right eye of Izanagi-no-Mikoto when he purified himself after fleeing from the Land of the Dead. He is the younger brother of the eldest goddess Amaterasu (The sun god) and the elder brother of Susanoo-no-mikoto (The god of the sea).
He is thought to be the deity of the moon who rules over the land of night, but there are several different theories.
It is said that he was born after the goddess Oohirume-no-Muchi (Amaterasu, the sun goddess), and that "his luminous splendour is as bright as the sun, and he should rule with the sun.” This may mean that he is the god of the full moon, who is comparable to the sun.
Not many anecdotes have survived, and Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto is so little known that even his gender is unknown, but he has a rare beauty, and the sea and the night - this is his domain.
Tsukuyomi-no-mikoto is mentioned in the following episode:
Tsukuyomi angered Amaterasu when he killed Ukemochi, the goddess of food.
Amaterasu once sent Tsukuyomi to represent her at a feast presented by Ukemochi. The goddess created the food by turning to the ocean and spitting out a fish, then facing a forest and spitting out boiled vegetables, and finally turning to a rice paddy and coughing up a bowl of rice. Tsukuyomi was utterly disgusted by the fact that, although it looked exquisite, the meal was made in a disgusting manner, and so he killed her.
Soon, Amaterasu learned what happened and she was so angry that she refused to ever look at Tsukuyomi again, forever moving to another part of the sky. This is the reason that day and night are never together.
However, a similar anecdote is told of his younger brother Susanoo, so some believe that it was Susanoo who killed Ukemochi, or that Susanoo and Tsukiyomi are the same god.

Full moon in Pisces
[On wednesday, 2. September 2020]
🌒🌓🌔♓🌖🌗🌘

General:
The full moon is the time with the highest level of energy. The moon in Pisces focuses this energy on feelings and spirituality. You might notice having a stronger intuition and sensitivity towards the feelings of others. This can be overwhelming and making you feel like avoiding social situations at all, but it is the ideal time to be with yourself, meditate and get in touch with your inner self and your spiritual guards.
Physical:
Pisces rules the nervous-system. Especially on a full moon, you might experience heavier emotions and have a harder time controlling them. Be careful with the intake of stimulants, like nicotine, caffeine or alcohol, as they can affect your nerves stronger than usual and cause you anxiety, aggression or generally irritation.
During a full moon, the blood-pressure tends to be higher, so it is recommended to avoid undergoing surgeries, since possible complications can end up to be more severe.
Also accidents are more likely to happen (wheter it be in traffic, at work, or just at home) and the crime-rate is a bit higher than usual, all to be connected to the higher blood-pressure as well.
Botanic:
Water your plants
Grass mowed today grows tight
Sow spinach and lettuce
Maintain salads and greens
Don't store
Emily's Energy:
With my natal moon in Pisces, one might think this is the best time for me. In reality, I experience just as much social anxiety. Whenever the moon is in Pisces (especially if it's a full moon), I notice that I'm way more irrational. It is not a good time for me to attend gatherings or parties, as the smallest incident might make me cry.
I have also noticed that alcohol really is to be used carefully in this times. It seems to hit faster than usual and you might lose control of it. I have seen this in other people too.
But I feel like the Pisces moon makes me more creative and visional. The energy definetely goes inward and is ultimately enriching.
