What are the uses of dark mark?

Just summoning? Can you summon deatheaters separately? Can you send messages through it? Does the message reach the brain? I wanna knowww

Also does it turn red when it burns ?? That'd be really aesthetic? What's the spell to give someone the mark?

The Mark does not change color when it burns, however the mark gets...darker. More three dimensional. More alive.

I can summon individual death eaters, and I do know who is summoning me. I cannot send specific messages through it, however I can convey a sense of the matter. They know if I am angry or pleased, and whether they were needed with incredible urgency -such as in battle- or they were merely needed to discuss a logistical matter.

The spell is morsmorde, and must be cast by myself onto the recipients skin.

There is no spell to remove it.

Week of 9/26

(( Hey everyone~ Alright so after discussing with doodlebat about our plans/brainstorming etc... This is the plan for this week and just like our direction/ideas? That way too, if you are a fellow roleplayer and want to interact with us/me/doodlebat but a specific character you will know when that character will be on. So today (Tuesday) 9/26 we are going to film the day after the whole mini 'fanfic with gifs' between Severus/Harry. For me, I feel its kind of important and there are several ideas/feelings I want to convey. Basically there is still more of the story we want to tell. Today will be Auror!Harry (though its not hard for me to switch to younger Harry) and AU!Severus lives. Tomorrow, I'm actually the most excited about. So basically I've been wanting to do this series on Severus introducing muggle British things to Sirius. More specifically things from the late 1970s. So its part history/culture/general silliness. I doubt this will be that popular, but we have fun researching things so we are thrilled about it. PLUS getting to try different things is exciting.. We will be on as lets say 1978 Sirius & Severus Snep. Thursday & Friday will most likely be rest days, but maybe one day Doodlebat will be on just to clear the inbox? Saturday: Morsmordre!!! I know there are a few Bellatrixes out there so here's the signal for any of you or other Death Eaters :D We want to explore a bit more of the dynamic between Mulciber and Snape. So I'll be Vold War II Mulciber (Post Azkaban) and Doodlebat will be James Bond... I mean spy Severus. As always feel free to message me or Doodlebat if you wanna rp with us :D I'm long winded af and I'm sorry. XD ))

When was the Dark Mark created and how did you come up with it’s nature and design? I’m sensing a part of you to be quite artistic/creative as the design is quite amazing

I first came up with the design at school, when I was about fourteen. It started as something any bored schoolboy would do - draw serpents and skulls and the like in the margins of my notes. One day I simply decided to combine the two, and then spent months perfecting my design. I did not know then, how I would use it. I just knew it looked very pleasing, and was fun to draw. When I was about sixteen, Rosier and I were studying together, and he pointed out the drawing in my book margins, saying it looked interesting. I admitted I had been working on it for some time, and Rosier suggested I should make it a symbol. At this point in time, we were all very familiar with the mark of Grindelwald, and having my own mark made logical sense. A way to be identified, for my followers to identify themselves.

I believe it was Lestrange, a few years later, who suggested wearing it on the skin. Talismans could be lost, stolen, or forged, he had pointed out. This had been an issue amongst spies in Grindelwalds ranks. But a mark on the skin, placed only by me...I hesitated at first. It seemed very bold, and at 19, I did not feel ready quite yet. We ended up developing the morsmorde spell first, then implementing the mark itself a few years later.

It's been a while since I read Goblet of Fire, but wasn't the Quidditch Cup when Crouch Jr got 'rescued' from his father's custody by the Death Eaters? Maybe the drunken masked Death Eaters were a big noisy distraction so that could happen?

Nope. The Death Eaters appear to have done it on their own - it’s why Barty Jr did the Dark Mark in the sky - he was disgusted by them partying and reveling in the Death Eaterness when they had turned on/abandoned the Dark Lord. It’s implied - and the wiki certainly seems to go with it, anyway - that the appearance of the Dark Mark actually scared off the Death Eaters.

I appreciate the intent though - I only even raised the question because I had to open a copy to check a detail and then started reading it again. :rofl:
