It's funny everyone jumping to the other social media sites for various reasons.
This isn't a judgement!
(I comment because people's movements - whether in cyberspace or real space - is what I studied in history.)
I am on Instagram and Bluesky but I use them for very different things:
Instagram (+ my dead Facebook page) is family/high school friend oriented - and brainless scrolling when picking up/waiting for my teens. I have a couple of grad school friends in England & California I keep up with there as well. (There's also the grad school Dutch, Welsh, German friends on Facebook and my undergrad friend in Vancouver.)
Bluesky is professional orientated (there are a lot of historians/authors) + the usual political bullshit. I've been on bsky since the early, early days when I was still waffling about closing....
My Twitter account (from the olden days), which I did finally close well over a year ago, and never looked back.
I tried Mastadon, but I couldn't get it... And I have a Threads acct. - just to round out the Meta trifecta (and because it's good for local politics, oddly enough). Of course with Meta, if I nuke one, I nuke them all.
The funniest part is: I wasn't on MySpace. I was in grad school when that started, so it wasn't a thing for me? I did/do? have LiveJournal thanks to a friend in Ottawa.
I'm older than dirt. Don't ask about the late 90s chat rooms...

Being traumatised from constantly having been moved around as a kid is like: after each victory there's an equal loss - if not available, you alone will bring it upon yourself.
okay so if Scotland does become independent because of Brexit... I will be able to live there more with the same rights I had as a EU citizen... (I am getting marriage proposals from Scotland but I’m not really ready for commitment or anything serious right now because of my health problems and depression... I’m not ready for big steps in life right now... just want to have more time to recover)
just right now this era in the UK is not really fun if you are a foreigner from a small country... I don’t think I can bear with it... I am human too after all.
But I’m still not sure if I should try another place instead since I already been there... like Ireland - I like Dublin, Cork... They speak English in Switzerland as well idk. I have close ones in France... (but I don’t speak French, otherwise it’s good country to live in I think... It’s just my family is like this - we travel and live in other places so that’s how it all began for me... we’re all spread around the world sometimes...)
