#DG:PROMPT2 __……–– TOP TRACKS 24/6/25 — 31/08/2025
BEAUTIFUL, ASH ISLAND FT. SKINNY BROWN — A holdover from her first summer in Seoul, just a couple of years late to the release of ISLAND album itself. For a long time (alleged) single, she sure does love with a breakup song.
LOV3, SIK–K & LIL MOSHPIT FT. BRYAN CHASE & OKASIAN — Has been sighted on her instagram story lipsyncing You know I need something real with a glassy–eyed stare in her eyes many more times than she can really justify. Knew back in march when the album dropped that this would be huge for her in the summertime. Huge.
BEDROCK, YOUNG MONEY — Was put on by American expats while living in Europe. Indiscriminate of company, anyone who's found themselves pre–gaming in Shiyu's company has been treated to a solo rendition of this song at some point: each part, fully acted out.
GIRL OF YOUR DREAMS, ELI — The aughts feel like nostalgia and comfort. As you'd expect, she knows the entire thing by heart.
BURNING SLOW, MOLLY YAM FT. SIK–K & LIL DRAGON — Unknown who exactly turned her onto Korean hip–hop, but she's nothing if not adaptable. Less keen on the K–pop scene, with a just few notable exceptions, but the freaks at the fringes hold an undeniable appeal to her.
ANGEL TATTOO, THE DEEP — Recession pop! While Shiyu (allegedly) has the artistic capacity to enjoy shoegaze and folksy lyrical sounds, for a day to day listen she prefers something danceable and energetic.
SHE'S SO OUTTA CONTROL, SIK–K — Crowd pleaser on aux, the sort of steady beat that fades into the background and allows conversations to go on unimpeded.
FFFFF, LEXIE LIU — Yelling Kiss me don't text text text text text into the nearest person's ear at full vocal projection, approximately five cans deep on sparkling soju on a rooftop somewhere where she inexplicably got the bluetooth connect.
EYES, VANGDALE FT. ALEX — Flow state inducement. Something to put on repeat while engaging in menial tasks or one of her crafts. Quite a few hours spent basket weaving and quilting to this song in late summer.
MY UNNIES, KIMJ FT. SEBII & THE DEEP & EFFIE — Why yes I do listen to K–pop girl groups, *pulls out this*
NOW U DO, DJ SEINFELD & CONFIDENCE MAN — A euro summer vibe that transcends continents, makes her think of deck parties, the sun beating down, arms sore overhead. Easy times.
LOSING YOU, SOLANGE — The parasocial bond between women in their early twenties and this song should to be studied in a lab environment.
YOU'RE NOT GOOD ENOUGH, BLOOD ORANGE — Better live, still a banger in any iteration. Somehow she can't remember who showed it to her.
HOW TO TELEPORT, JANE REMOVER — You know it's time to exit the function when the expats start dancing cursed bachata. Twisted her ankle on Jane Remover sometime in June, but nothing keeps a real one down for long..
(FREAK IT), DIJON — The whole Baby album has been on repeat since release. Dijon is one of her more hinged(?) music picks.
