I drew a thing. I just reblogged it from the submission I sent to Marin, but yeah, so a the greatest showman au. Well at first I just threw the sides into a role that fit and ran away.
But then I made an actual au.
So instead of just sitting and smiling at my draws, I thought of more fun, more cohesive ideas. This would be happening in the early 1900s, so take everything with a grain of salt. So here goes.
Okay so Logan Sanders. The ringleader, the circus owner, the magician. He was raised poor, but happy, with his little brother Thomas. While Thomas went off to be an actor, he stayed in his home town and began courting his childhood best friend and crush Patricia, while working on his passion for a different type of entertainment. He won her heart a while ago, and after a short time of dating, he proposed.
Shortly after all of that merriment Patricia admits to wanting to be called Patton, and that she was actually a he. Logan, being a rare gem, was one hundred and fifty percent okay with that, and even had a bit of trouble remembering that he would have to misgender him so he could keep his job.
He is best friends with Patton's half brother Roman, and is very close to Dee, Patton's sister, and Remy, a good friend of them all. He also adores Virgil, who he and Patton adopted when they heard the poor outcasts home life. The six of them are inseparable, after years of working together for the best, and definitely most humane, circus of the 20th century; the Sanders Cirque.
Patton. A trans man who had one of the worst childhoods one could have. Patton, and his younger sister Dee, we're forced into tiny spaces, told to either fit and stay, or not eat for a week. This was how Patton came to be a talented acrobat and contortionist. He learned to bend into the smallest shapes possible as a defense. As a person in the 20th century, he knew that not only would he being a trans man destroy Logan's career, it would also invalidate their marriage, and Patton was willing to give his identity up so Logan could be happy, even if Logan didn't care about the repercussions himself.
He had a long string of failed careers, such as lawyer and burlesque dancer.
He's the only one I'm going into detail for appearance for, because the others, while I have ideas, aren't concrete. This one I'm picky about. Patton still presents as a woman, and wears big fancy dresses. His hair is bleach blonde, curly, and goes down to the small of his back. He's rather tall for someone who was born female. He has a large chest, and is otherwise very muscular. He's also very pale and prefers long things that cover him completely.
He's very close to his family, and is very protective.
Roman. Roman is Patton's half brother on his mother's side. Around five years after Patton was born, his mother had an affair with a bachelor king and was blessed with a son. Of course, considering how her husband was an asshole, and how she had committed adultury, she had to give up the child or kill it. She managed to find the father, and he took in the child, as he had no heir and he was not going to let the boy die.
Though he was raised in wealth, the boy was raised decently and always visited his mother and his siblings, no matter how much their father protested.
When his brother adopts Virgil, he spoils him rotten. Absolutely anything he wants, he gets, courtesy of your local prince. His biggest regret was not helping his mother and siblings get out before they were hurt so much.
Virgil. Oh fuck this boy is not ok. First off, Virgil is an acrobat, who was born with hollow bones and wings. Virgil was abused basically since birth. His father left shortly after he was born, and his mother was cruel. He would go as long as one could survive without food and water, be forced to stay in his shoebox room, and when he was allowed out, he was tortured. Either physically beaten, or forced to watch as his mother ate a plentiful amount of food, only to throw away the rest of it and not let him have any.
When he turned 18 he left as quickly as possible, only to come across an ad for people with weird hidden-or not so hidden- talents. When he got to the "auditions" he begged when the random interviewer said that wings weren't weird enough. When Patton came out to check on everything and saw a tiny boy with jet black wings, trembling in his office, let's just say he wasn't pleased. He brought the small boy inside and offered him an acrobatics spot, as he looked flexible and wings would certainly help. They quickly became closer and closer before Patton decided that he would formally adopt him. Virgil will likely never love anyone as much as he loves Logan and Patton Sanders.
Lastly, for now, Dee. Aka Demitri, aka Deidre. don't call her Demitri unless you want five angry men to fucking kill you. Dee was the more outgoing of her siblings, and came out as trans to her parents a while back when she was about ten.
She became an experiment. Her father would take her joints and bend them backwards til they broke, then leave her to heal on her own. Because of this happening regularly, her bones reformed in defense so she could bend her joints any which way, causing her to be a better contortionist objectively. She sees Virgil as a father figure, as he is everything she wants to be.
So that was it!!!!! My new au!!!!!!! Hope you like it!!!
