A genuine one, since only phobes like to call people who ship wlWenclair pedos. 🏳️‍🌈 = pedophiles, such an exhausted piece of anti-gay twattery that it's pretty funny to see someone hack it up in 2025.

I've already told people why it's fine to ship them (though this should be amended to include a section on creative license and the ability to do whatever one wants to a character: Change their age. Change their gender ID. Swap her entirely for a boy named Angus. Make her Black, or Indigenous. Age them BOTH up to 26 and 29, where no one should gaf). And I've told people the whys/the subtext of the entire episode from a queer lens, which you obviously can't do.

I can and will ship them/was probably the first one to ship them here when Part 2 dropped, so you can

save your energy, coming here to pathologize a small age gap between two fictional, supernatural beings in the same peer group.

I mean Jesus, complain about Wenovan again if you want an age gap to cry about. I hope everybody who fkn reads this realizes that once sanctimonious judgment and censorship happens for one of the weirdest taboo ships, they'll keep broadening their definitions of objectionable, and they will come for your own works, including Wenclair (an underage ship in canon too). If you are any type of marginalized writer or writer who avoids writing straight white Christian-pleasing tripe, you should be ship/let ship. You don't have to like it, just like I don't like wlWenclair (not for the show, at least...I like it enough but it's worn thin on me because of the stans).

As a multishipper, regardless of “validity” I tend to like ships more when the people shipping it clearly like the character(s) involved and less when they clearly don’t.

Sure, if we’re gonna compare the non-endgame Naruto ships, KibaHina and SasuKarin have way more canon interactions and actual bonds than SasuHina, who’ve barely interacted, but the people who ship them are more likely to dislike Hinata and/or Sasuke and mostly do so as a means of “getting them out of the way.” ESPECIALLY KibaHina, I do quite like SasuKarin because I have still found more than enough shippers who genuinely love/understand Sasuke, although it’s still a toss-up whether they’ll be a Sasuke fan or hater. KibaHina on the other hand? I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve seen a KH shipper who genuinely loves and understands Hinata and doesn’t bash/devalue her in other posts. SasuHina shippers often tend to genuinely love and understand both characters involved so that’s why I’m more into it than either SK or KH.

Sure, if Sanji from One Piece ends up with anyone it will probably be Pudding but honestly? Most shippers of that pairing either hate him or misunderstand him. I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve seen a SanPu shipper who doesn’t bash or demonize Sanji in their other posts OR (if they claim to be a fan of him) grossly misunderstands his characterization in WCI and takes his scenes with Pudding out of context to misrepresent him. This correlation soured the ship for me and made it hard to enjoy. SaNami and Sanji x Viola fans on the other hand? They’re more likely to actually love and understand Sanji, hence why I love those ships more and tend to seek content for them out. Oda may have said “no romance between the Straw Hats” and a Viola/Sanji reunion is unlikely, but that doesn’t change the fact the fans who ship them are less like to bash/mischaracterize Sanji than those who ship him with his “most likely endgame.”
