‘Numb’
Today my heart feels a little heavier, more broken than usual and I’m still in a state of shock and disbelief, all this happened after news of the passing of Chester Bennington hit social media. The last time I was in such a state of shock, which was a bit worse, was when news broke of MJ’s passing. I was heartbroken and shattered then, MJ was music to me. I digress though, today the world lost another musical & magical gem. Linkin Park will never be the same, listening to their trax now will never be the same. LP’s music helped me through some of the darkest and most difficult times of my life. Times when I thought it was all for naught, and giving up seemed to be the option that a lot of people were hinting and blatantly stating in my face along the way. Inspiration was hard to come by, support was even harder to come by but thankfully I was able to befriend some stellar people. Music has a way of influencing and affecting ppl in different ways. To me, music is my oldest and most loyal friend, it literally embeds itself into my life and has always had my back. Sure I might not be their #1 fan, but there are so many trax of theirs that have played a role in shaping & helping me. For that, I will be eternally grateful to Linkin Park & especially Chester Bennington, for infusing life into words that echoed (and still echoes) so deeply with my soul and was my light of hope. I hope you find the peace you were looking for Chester. You won’t be forgotten, not by me anyway.
