Can't get over the thought of Link accidentally revealing his true feelings to Sidon because he hasn't gotten a hang of his new alien hand, compounded by the heightened emotions of learning Sidon is engaged.
PLEASE let me know if this is anything...

Sidon x Link
Confession
Semi hot take?
I like mute Link (even though technically he’s not)
I feel more comfortable with a mute Link, idk why
Phoenix legend… he hates losing his progress
Fanfic prompt:
In cadence of Hyrule you can endlessly respawn and with every respawn you get permanent upgrades
Like people often give him chronic pain so maybe he can just straight up rebirth and be back to normal
Until the chronic pains are back because he never gets a break when goes back on different adventures
Like some messed up Phoenix he turns into dust then just respawns stronger than before
While the chain see legend getting more and more tired over several weeks
And him just fighting despite everything
And during a battle with the Shadow legend just sets everything on fire in close proximity while trying to take out the Shadow
Link to the past canonically gives link the ability to create fire with magic like why can’t he just go become a bomb and nuke the entire forest using literally all his energy he has left
Then dies in someone’s arms and evaporates out of existence like that is the end
Just to respawn better than before
Then just respawns again a bit before he was massively damaged by his adventures (which is why he is tiny lil guy in cadence of Hyrule…he dies to often to have the ability to grow up because that takes years of not dying )
And the chain end up in his hyrule again and see a little pink version of legend running around and that pink version immediately comes up to them and just doesn’t let them leave it behind but because as a lil baby legend couldn’t talk all that well even if he knows the words his body isn’t used to talking
So he tries to tell them that he is back via charade
(He hates getting his progress reset and to go back to baby but baby link is much better than pained grumpy teenager…it takes so long to grow up again )
He hunts down the first link he sees (being warriors for plot reasons) and then just aggressively follows him
Warriors just sees child wearing green (all other clothes don’t fit ..he back to wardrobe of a six year old) and then literally was unable to tell him to leave him alone especially because this is a baby version of legend
And while messing up the timeline by picking up a version of legend who has not yet met them would be bad,…
He is very much used to fucking around with the timeline just to pick up green kids (tune and mask can attest to that)
And it still hurts immensely to met legend again after what happened
Because legend is utterly determined to follow him and it literally goes against everything Captain link is not to pick up pink green wearing child
Meanwhile the chain is freaking out because warriors is currently holding what they think is a past version of legend who is still pink haired and tiny
Warriors be like *holding the baby*: “ I tried to put him down but he kept following me … and also refused to stay where he is”
The chain : “Why would you pick him up…, we just lost legend a month ago”
Warriors: “he wouldn’t stop toddling towards me , and bite me when I tried to leave him behind”
(people put cadence of Hyrule after all other adventures but seeing that link is lil guy in that game I like to believe he just can come back however the heck he wants and just constantly uses the pre adventure version of himself for convenience)
The chain all fail at leaving the kid behind so now pink legend is joining the chain because he just invited himself to the party
And also because he has mastered his own cuteness by accident
Everyone sad that legend is gone : * :(*
Legend happy to see them again and to see that everything worked out : *snuggles up to everyone*
The chain : *:,)* “you evil evil creature you make everything so much more complicated”
And legend cannot convince them he still is his rat self who is as bitter as a slice of lime because he cannot talk well enough to taint their vision of him
He can just look at them with disgust when they coo at him and show them the middle finger
The chain just thinks that legend always was a sassy lost child (wind loves his attitude it’s hilarious even if the chain blames him for teaching lil guy insults… which he surprisingly didn’t even do , child came preprogrammed with only rudeness and sass )
Legend is better with insults then other words so who can blame the chain to accuse wind of teaching the kid how to say those
His first word was “fuck” and he kept saying it just to piss of the moms of the group (wars, sky , twilight are moms)
The rest where laughing at it and wind got in trouble
I've started playing Horizon: Zero Dawn and I have come to the conclusion Aloy and Link would get on like a house on fire. Gets distracted every 2 seconds to forage, roads are a suggestion, have to climb tall things to get a map, collect every piece of clothing and switches what they are wearing every two seconds in combat, ask 300 questions, and only one of them have to do with a quest, the rest are about worldbuilding which arguably everyone else but they know, liberal use of arrows, very neurodivergent, parkour, climb everything, "oh this is very impossible to do, don't do it" they proceed to do it, went on so many side quest you forget the main quest, murder is ok, the 100 haters after your head, break into the hq of said haters looking like one of the haters, hunters, coin toss on if they are hunting for food or monsters, no qualms on looting bodies, guts their kills with terrifying efficiency, makes their own potions, blows things up all the time, sneak masters, everyone they meet is thirsting over them, including royalty, no qualms about looting others things, I could go on. Their only differences is Aloy has only one gender and Link doesn't talk.
First Legend of Zelda fan art!!! Absolutely in love with the game, Link is amazing and I love him lmao. My favorite thing I think is the mute Link head cannon. As someone who has bouts of selective mutism, I really enjoy that headcannon!!
Muting Chains
Summary:
Prince got unlucky, got caught, and got a little more time on his hands than he bargained for. However, there's still worse things than being bored.
Rated G, mostly internal monologue about language use and home.
@thatbrokenpromise AU HW Link, deaf/selectively mute character.
Also on AO3

The worst part of being chained up, Link supposed, was the fact it meant he couldn't even talk. Even before he lost his hearing, losing his hands meant losing what little speech he had. Now, it also meant he was agonizingly alone with no information at all about what was going on outside.
Being deaf didn't usually annoy him too much. It had brought with it some kind of peace: noise had always been the first thing to become seriously upsetting. It was one reason he didn't talk: it was hard, yes, he'd never been able to make his throat do what he wanted, and had never been able to really put words into order. Sometimes (for all he'd been loathe to admit it) it had been frustratingly hard to understand other people's words.
Signing mostly worked. He understood enough; he'd gotten very very good in time at piecing together what he missed, and losing his hearing had made it so he no longer needed an excuse to ask someone to repeat themselves or rephrase. Make it simpler.
This wasn't answering the question of when he was going to be saved.
He did trust the others would try, but he had unfortunate amounts of realism about their odds. They were as far as he could tell in Four's world, dealing with his army which was in too many ways much like his own: authoritarian and contrary to most natural life.
He'd talked about that with his own Princess: about the conscription and the terms, the violence and the way the pay and care and obligations were handled. It wasn't that she disagreed; it was just that she didn't see any other way forward.
How could she, when the same system that had trapped him had trapped her in different chains all her own?
Link glared at the manacles on his wrist, the small key slot and the short length.
Next time they got back together as a group, he decided, he was asking Outset how to pick locks.
He didn't need more time with his own thoughts.
ok the whole "is link mute? yes"? ""no he's talked before" debate really cracks me up because like. has no one considered semiverbality??
