#my surgery

Before I get started on my dash, I should let everyone know that I may be gone for a week or so.

I'm having heart surgery on Tuesday. Basically, the valves aren't working properly and they need to be either repaired or replaced.

I have a Pre Op procedure tomorrow at 6:30 in the morning then I'll be admitted in the afternoon.

After the surgery, I'll be in the hospital for three or four days.

Then it's three months of recovery. I can't lift more than ten pounds, so I'll be taking a Medical Leave of Absence from Macy's.

As you can imagine, that didn't go over well with Schanica but these things happen.

Receiving was able to get stuff done when I was gone for four years, they will survive three months without me. With the difference being that after the three months, I will be returning.

It's an unpaid leave, but I'll be getting a small payment from NY Disability. And I do mean SMALL payment. Let me put it this way, I have more deducted from my weekly Macy's paycheck than I'll be getting. But once I'm home, I'll look into other ways of getting assistance. I'm not proud and every little bit helps until I'm back at work and getting a proper paycheck.

Today I want to finish filling up my three queues til at least the beginning of next week.

I just realized that I have anon OFF, I don't remember doing that, but since I don't have the patience to deal with asshole anons, it will stay off. I'm sorry.

Forewarning: epidural is something that should only happen after oral (and probably IV) pain management has failed. It carries a lot of risks and it (atleast in my case) needs a multiple day stay in the hospital. This is also just something MY anesthesiologist in this surgery said to me.

There's something else my surgery has made me think of: I already said my anesthesiologist suggested epidural for pain management after the surgery.

You wanna know why? Because as per his words: "often people who have unknown or undiagnosed pain issues-" (I don't remember exactly the word he used there; could've been "issues", "illnesses", "disorders", etc.) "-fair better with-" (or "need") "-an epidural as pain management, but we'll decide that after the surgery is finished."

I have never felt more seen and respected, honestly.

The man didn't even blink an eye, he just accepted that yes, I have unknown and undiagnosed chronic pain (& fatigue) and he's gonna have to just deal with it.

A lot of people, health care workers & many others, have accepted my problems as they are, but at that moment... a doctor who is willing to go above and beyond to give me a chance at a painless or near painless start for my recovery without asking a several dozen questions...

So its 10hrs until Im admitted to hospital at 7am for my excision surgery for my endometriosis, this will be my 6th time going under anaesthetic and 6 surgical procedure, tell me why im nervous this time, im not normally, like i had a whole human cut out if my abdomen 2 and half years ago, and this is just keyhole surgery and im bloody nervous.. why.

I'm officially nearing 4 weeks post stage 1 phalloplasty and it's still hard to believe I've actually had this surgery. I'm most likely going to be posting some more in depth recounts of the early days after surgery but right now I'm still in the midst of healing. Right now my arm is proving to be the hardest to deal with but in due time things will get better.

I'm looking forward to being another month or two out because that's when life starts to return to normal

11pm. SO TIRED. I got home an hour ago, and I’m exhausted.

And frustrated... I couldn’t relax as I thought I would, and I couldn’t work on my application for the translation seminar... and I only have a few hours to sleep before I have to get up, and start another day.

I look like shit but my surgery went better than expected and I am feeling well. The pain is not too bad for now, but I’m still on pain meds. Hopefully I’ll be released by the end of the week.
