Limit when and where you use social media. Social media can interfere with in-person convos. Consider turning your social media notifications off during meals with family and friends, conversations with your partner, or important meetings at work. _ 2. Try to not keep your phone or computer in your bedroom, or use social media right before bed; studies show that using devices at this time disrupts your sleep. 💤 _ 3. Consider scheduling regular multi-day breaks from social media. Several studies have shown that a five-day or week-long break from Facebook can lead to lower stress and higher life satisfaction. If that seems too extreme, just limiting your social media use to 30 minutes a day can reduce feelings of loneliness and depression. _ 4. Each time you check social media, think about why you're doing it, how it makes you feel, and whether that's really what you want. _ 5. Narrow your online networks and pay more attention to your real-life relationships. Over time, most people accumulate online friends and organizations they follow that are no longer relevant. Some of the content is boring, annoying, or even upsetting. So unfollow, mute, or hide them. _ 6. One study found that people whose social media included inspirational stories experienced gratitude, vitality and awe, so consider adding a few motivational or funny sites to your feed. _ 7. Remember that online connections cannot replace real-life interactions. Humans have an innate need for connection and belonging. Spending time with friends in person and building networks off-line can be protective for your mental health.💃 _ What works best for you?💬💙 _ #mywellbeing #mentalhealth (at Illuminations) https://www.instagram.com/p/BzcfBduJfVC/?igshid=1lyc7dv1f88ab

Upped my game yesterday with 2 back to back cardio workouts. It sure was a sweat fest. No only was it necessary to replenish with drinking LOTS of water, it requires replenishing my body's electrolytes that is lost thru sweating. During a normal 20 - 30 mins workout that I do, drinking lots of water is sufficient for me. However with doing this extra cardio and is back to back with the other, I knew I bette make sure my electrolytes did not take a dive. All the more important at my age. (Another negative due to age. Oh well.😆🤗) . There a many drinks with electrolytes in the marketplace to choose from.. Do choose wisely as there are many out there that are high in sugar, artificial sweeteners, persrvatives and caffeine content. . My choice is HYDRATE, 40 calories, no caffeine, no artificial sweeteners, colors and flavors, no preservatives. Provides the optimal fluid absorption during excercise. . Staying safe, getting the most out of your workouts, eating correctly, keeping up with nutrition with the correct required nutrients are so important for the body overall wellbeing. Sounds complicated? Not at all, as the healthy fit lifestyle I am doing, takes all the complications out of the picture so I can concentrate on ME. . . You know where to find me to learn more or to chat. . . #stayhydrated #drinkupyourwater #waterislife #sweatisgood #mywellbeing #57yearsyoung #menopauseweightloss #itisnottoolate #replenish #hydratewell #electrolytes #waterislife #waterwater #listentoyourbody https://www.instagram.com/p/BwNb3vtg68p/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=84qxe1lfq3tu
What do you do after a week of working out with @shauntfitness? You do a sneak peek Shift Shop workout with @chrisdowningfitness! A friend remarked about about self-care, wellness practice, and exercise regimes because we need to be vigilant in taking care of ourselves as we age. She is absolutely right. Doing these programs is not easy for anyone of any age. I modified...everything, but that didn't make any of the workouts less than. In fact, they gave me something to work towards.
