Good old Romeo and Juliet romance story even in coffee! Let me break for you some bits on coffee romance. @Connect coffee brews a good one and also roasts coffee beans. A good roaster does both a medium roast (my favorite) and a dark roast (other people's favorite 😂) Now, because Connect coffee are worth their salt, they have named the medium roast - Juliet Blend. (In the medium, they have blended 50% coffee from Kenya and 50% Coffee from Ethiopia). Kind of 50:50 romance. Then, they have named the dark roast- Romeo blend. (In the dark roast, they have blended, 50% coffee from Kenya, 25% coffee from Rwanda and 25% coffee from Uganda). Kind of 50:25:25 romance. The medium roast is a little heaven in the mouth! Casual Bite Cafe and Coffee shop - westlands. Such a lovely little spot. The coffee is great. It's a thin array but the Baritas / waiters know their coffee. Brenda was her name. She answered our questions with excellent mastery. She was against me taking a ristretto - (Retrained Espresso) haha. Moments Coffee Shop & Restaurant, is a cafe in Thika CBD. It's quite a popular coffee place. Together with friends, last Saturday evening we patronised for coffee and food up to midnight. The owner of the place did passby. It was great meeting him. "you better say something nice about us" he said. Well I agreed I'll say something nice. Truth is nice enough for improvement purposes and also because some facts are undeniable. Let's explore... 1. The coffee presentation was great. 2. I don't intend to slander, but the cappuccino double, did not feel like 'double'. It tasted like a single shot with much more milk than a 'Single ' 3. The Mocha tasted like a latte devoid of Chocolate flavor. The place is great, if only they would take care of double shots and real chocolate in Mocha.. Specifically a Cappuccino double shouldn't have that much milk, and especially , it should be strong, literally two espresso shots and a small quantity of milk. For a Mocha Double, It should have the same espresso shots, a good amount of liquid chocolate and moderate milk.. @patra_kamau I hope they work on it immediately. They are doing a great job promoting coffee culture in Thika. Cafe Clarion Cafe has improved their Cappuccinos. Their Cappuccino is smooth, it doesn't taste bitter or burnt and it's definitely a looker. I hope we didn't get there at a 'good time' .
