Rules: 1. Post the Rules 2. Answer the questions the person who tagged you asked 3. Write 11 new ones 4. Tag 11 people to answer them 5. Actually tell them you tagged them Kels' questions:
1. what do you do to hide from the world?
i play video games. i go to other countries. i get tipsy and listen to 'there is a light that never goes out' a lot on repeat and brood in the dark. i wish i was kidding. sometimes i watch xena. nothing cheers me up like xena. xena is my happy place.
2. what do you do to bring yourself back into the world?
i take fifteen minutes to an hour to blast some of my favorite songs over my headphones. i wander around the house like a caged tiger while listening to them (which i'm told looks ridiculous, oh well). then i'm usually good to go.
3. word or phrase that you’ve had stuck in your head lately?
well, right now, 'there is a light that never goes out', because i just mentioned the song and that's like summoning it into your brain pan. most days recently it's 'Formidable, formidable. Tu étais formidable, j'étais fort minable, nous étions formidables.'
4. where is a place you want to go, right now?
the azores. or chicago. or tokyo. or melbourne. or one of the greek islands. i've been stuck in graduation hell for two years and the only thing that keeps me sane is the thought of leaving the country again for a while. i've even considered hopping in my car and driving down to brussels or somewhere in france and just chilling in a café or something. my parents were big on traveling since pretty much forever - even as a poor southern kid, my dad managed to save money until he could afford a roadtrip to turkey - and i find i get anxious if i'm stuck at home for too long without seeing some other place.
5. where is a place you wish you could spend more time?
chicago! it's where so many of my friends are. though i'd feel bad leaving my chickens behind all the time.
6. favorite specific subgenre (fiction or nonficiton)?
military space-opera. quelle surprise.
7. favorite TvTrope?
toss-up between magnificent bastard and woobie, destroyer of worlds.
8. what is your earliest memory?
either picking out games on diskette with my dad or jumping around in mud puddles in the giant playing area behind my house.
9. do you believe in the supernatural? metaphysics?
only when i'm having a whimsical or anxious day.
10. what is a song you could keep listening to on repeat?
i could name like a million. greg graffin's 'cease' ("oh! what pretention! everlasting peace? everything must cease."), bad religion's 'the defense'/'generator' and new model army's 'red earth' and oingo boingo's 'war again'/'insanity' and the smiths' 'there is a light that never goes out' and...
11. what is a favorite accessory or article of clothing?
probably my red and black dress. simple design, my favorite color theme of black + standout color, and it makes me look good. oooh.
my questions:
1. one country you'd like to see in your lifetime.
2. one person you'd like to meet in your lifetime.
3. piece of media that moved you the most.
4. big dreams for the future?
5. interior decorating style?
6. how would you label your taste in ships?
7. favorite place you've already been to.
8. best event you've ever been to.
9. what's your main website reading list?
10. name two things that really moved you last year.
11. what's the one thing you can't live without?
doktorbedlam, kimerakincaid, nanaea, ibmiller, mpoetess, kajivar, throughtosunrise, darklightluna, aquietrevolutionary, zacrenner and punting this back to you, petrabrokanian. muhahaha.

I was tagged for this by the cruel nanaea.
thanks for that, because considering my infrequent reading habits, this one is hard!
rules: in a text post, list ten books that have stayed with you in some way. don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard — they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you. tag ten friends, including me, so i’ll see your list. make sure you let your friends know you’ve tagged them!
