"A picture is worth a thousand words." -unknown
"Speak clearly, if you speak at all; carve every word before you let it fall." -OW Holmes
Life is a collection of experiences. What makes us human, what makes us Social Creatures is that we share with each other. We seek one another out, poking into their lives – to ask, to tell, to listen, to find comfort, to console. Written, spoken, depicted, crafted- We take our tales and expose them to acceptance, chancing ridicule.
What are friends but those with whom we exchange experiences once, and again, and again by choice? The best of friends are they who can retell us a story of our own lost selves, to help us find our way back.

"Life itself is the most wonderful fairytale of all." -HC Andersen
With a good eye, the mundane becomes magical. With a glib tongue, words steal us, spellbound. With a sharp ear, cadence and rhythm
And while some stories tend toward the familiar music of 'Variations on a Theme'-
And while there are infinitely many "I was here" candids of tourist vacation icons-
There are occasional bursts of genius to inspire and ensnare, entice each of us to turn the page, take the shot. Words and images cannot always do each other justice, but hand in hand, they can collaborate to convey connotation beyond the shapes in view.

I don't know what you will get out of each image, so I won't even attempt to think I could write a thousand words about each of these snapshots. Instead, I will give you a fraction from my perspective. I started with descriptive writing, but found my words concise, for now. Maybe down the line I can get a full thousand words per image, but for now, I like 100 words. One-tenth of that proverbial phrase. Just enough to share a single idea in detail, build a concept to the point of intrigue, dust off my pen and practice writing again.

"I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious Ambiguity." -GRadner
My warm-ups have proven yet again my loathing of minimums. I easily spout off 70-85 word 'stream of consciousness' journals. Since I've promised 100 words, that leaves me straining for 15-30 more. I start adding sentences, rearranging phrases, moving Scrabble tiles of words and ideas - sometimes just dumping the entire frustrating tray back into the Crown Royal bag.
Manipulating my words like this increases informality, adding filler because I need two more! and it's too small to include another idea. Or, florid adjectives marinate the meat of my message, cultivating a dry yard into blooming, a well-landscaped garden of meaning.
