I finally made it to @riverwalkbrewing to see the new space and get growlettes filled. The production space was huge in comparison to the old space with room to grow. The tap room had a modern homey feel. I knew I was getting the Turbine DIPA. It was their interpretation of the NE IPA. It was really good! Flavors of pineapple and grapefruit with a slight bitter finish. For my second growlette, I went with the Golden Axe Helles. It had flavors of biscuit, slightly sweet malt, and a floral finish. It was really good! I'm going need to budget more beer money for Riverwalk specifically. #beergood #nbpt #drinklocal #growlette (at RiverWalk Brewing)

We’ve died and gone to beef heaven... When: 9/18/20| Where: @themodernbutchershop - Newburyport (aka the first leg of ports - newburyPORT, PORTsmouth, PORTland ) | What: Superbeef Friday special ( went just sauce as that’s how I like em) | price: don’t know and don’t care as they just rang it up with my 8 piece sausage party and other meat treats I picked up. I would have no problem paying $20 for this sandwich| Color: bubblicious pink floating in a river of James | rating 4.99 BEEFS | Tasting Notes: Warren’s scalpel and Lisa’s cleaver carved up the most magnificent marvel of a sandwich this beef freak has ever come across. They put 6 days of love and affection into planning out these masterpieces as it’s only available on fridays and usually sells out. I rolled in around 2pm and fully expected they’d be sold out but the beef gods were with us today and we managed to live to tell the tale. I took this thing out onto merrimack street, popped the trunk, haunched over the tailgate and just inhaled this thing in what had to be about 45 seconds. It was warm and crunchy and saucy and perfect in every way. Was happy to have my weather tech liner in the bed of the trunk so I can hose it down later as the Jimmy was a flowing. I don’t even know if it was jimmy- could have been their own hybrid version as it was just the perfect accompaniment to the perfect onion roll and perfectly cooked beef. I walked back in, told them it was the best Sandwich I’ve had and then walked away wishing I had ordered two instead of one. Well done modern butcher. Everyone told me it was an epic sandwich and i can’t wait to come back for more! You guys will make it hard to enjoy any standard Saturday-Thursday beef ever again. But I’m not mad about that. Miltimore-Husk House, 1809 281 High Street, Newburyport Federalist home ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE This home is a nice example of the domestic architecture built along High Street during the Federal period. The house has the three story form with hipped roof characteristic of the Federal style. The architectural details of the house are simple yet the cornice moulding and the window lintels are both classically inspired and in keeping with the style. The portico at the front entrance is apparently original. It is pedimented and is supported by reeded Doric columns. The columns are attenuated and quite delicate, unlike those of the porticos often added to Newburyport homes at mid-century. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE In 1808 Rev. James Miltimore became the pastor of the Belleville Congregational Church. The following year this house was built across the street from the church as his residence. Miltimore served as pastor of the church until 1836. He also helped to organize the Merrimack Bible Society, an organization that distributed bibles and gave religious instruction to the public. Miltimore probably lived in this house until his death in 1836. In 1851 this house was owned by Andrew W. Miltimore. Miltimore was active in settling the various disputes arising from the annexation of the Belleville section of Newbury to the City of Newburyport. In 1872 Moses L. Hale was the owner of the house at 281 High Street.
