I see lots of characters here being headcanoned having PCOS variation. Which is honestly rad af and it makes ne incredibly happy, even though my variation is not PCOS
I saw so many people questioning if they're "intersex enough", whatever that means, just because they have PCOS and nothing else. You 100% are if you feel like this label fits you! The more the merrier, every intersex sib with PCOS - I love you so dearly much from the bottom of my heart <3
And it absolutely applies to NCAH too, can't forget you, precious ones!
Fun fact, I say "PCOS/NCAH (spectrum)" a lot of the time because they can present functionally identical to one another, so much so in the community there's a sentiment of "if you are diagnosed with and/or believe you have PCOS, also get tested for (N)CAH". I honestly believe they're a sub-spectrum in of its own right.
To the people with PCOS/NCAH here (this applies to everyone, however these variations are the focus for this post rn) who feel they aren't "intersex enough" and have to deal with exclusionary sentiment, possibly from other people with PCOS/NCAH, who feel like somehow the word "intersex" invalidates their gender (It doesn't! Deconstruct that systemic misogyny and intersexism you've internalized, that's society unfortunately working as intended!), I love you so so much and you're welcome to identify within the intersex community. Exclusionists and intersexists can go pound sand.
